I have to say that the gal that complained about her calamari and burger didn't know what she was talking about. Â I have been here many times and I can't say enough about how great the food is and the portions are huge. They are constantly changing it up with new stuff that is always amazing! Â The burgers are huge and juicy definately plan on leftovers. Â As for the calamari it's one of my favorite items on the menu, its this big bowl of spicy, buttery calamari with cherry peppers and lots of garlic! Â My mouth is watering just thinking of it! Â So if you want to complain about the food at a restaurant you might want to find one more worthy of it. Â It sounds like you might be more comfortable at a place with a drive thru!
Review Source:First of all, the service was excellent, the dining room was clean, and the beer was great.  Our waitress was so friendly attentive and knowledgeable; she was wonderful.  The food however was really very bad.  We came for burgers so our expectations were pretty much just good hot food.  What we got was a spicy calamari appetizer that I'm 99% certain was low-quality, frozen, pre-prepared calamari with pickled jalapeños dumped on top, served floating in a inch of the juice from the jalapeño jar.  I could have bought  a much higher quality prepared calamari in the frozen section of a supermarket.  After the awful appetizer, my husband and I wanted to cancel the order for a burger we had put in to split between us, but the waitress was so nice we decided to stay.  Though when I added a side salad to our order, I made sure to verify that they made the dressing in-house (I was afraid it would be swimming in a bad bottle dressing). Â
The burger, which was supposed to be medium was very well done. Â The meat was poor-quality, cheap, tough, beef cooked to a dry tasteless disc. Â The menu said it was a 1/2 pound but it was really small (which was fine because it was quite bad.) Â The french fries were a poor choice of a previously-frozen variety (reconstituted potatoes for sure). Â When the waitress checked back I told her that the burger was well-done and she offered to take it back, but we had already each taken a couple bites, and since we were splitting it anyway, it seemed awkward so we decided to stick with it. Â The side salad was nice greens and tomato, but it was small and sandy. Â They brought us an unannounced free desert because of the burger (a piece of white chocolate mousse cake). Â It was really nice of them and we were very gracious, but it didn't really make up for a bad meal. Â I won't criticize the dessert because it was a very nice gesture. Â
Overall I would say: the food is bad, the service is great, the prices are unreasonably high for the food you are getting if you order what we did. Â I realize we are used to the great restaurants we have access to living in Brooklyn, but we thought Beacon was known for its great restaurants. Â The best meal we ate in this town was at cheap but delicious Santana Taqueria.
I'm always on the blachhh side of eating out. I had yet to find a place where everything is consistent. The Beacon Falls Cafe is a Perfect eatery. The food is consistently GREAT comes out hot, and always DELI SH! Service is fantastic. No complaints, none nada zippo. My family and I are regulars and I thoroughly have enjoyed each time.
My husband is in shock as I find fault in most restaurants. GO!! It's a must. Rhode Island Calamari!!!!
