Cafe Typhoon

Meh, indeed. I think I need to finally admit to myself that there aren't really any options in this food court that I want to eat, ever.

Tried the sushi at Cafe Typhoon today, and I won't have it again. I went safe and got a California roll and some other boring no-raw-fish roll, because let's be honest, I don't trust raw fish from the mall food court. Tasted a bit old to me, and actually pretty much had no flavor at all.

Unless I'm craving Potbelly or Panda Express, I've got to remind myself to skip this mall food court & go somewhere else.

Hrm, a sushi place at a mall. The tuna roll had bits of fish...kinda felt like they hid the ends in there. Edible but barely. The flavor spoke for the cheap price ($5). Will not be back unless desperate.

Meeehhhh.

Sushi is beyond food to me.  It's like a religion.  I try to be forgiving of pre-made sushi but this place was pretty bad.  Practically the only thing satisfying about it was that the copious, mushy rice was filling.  Mind you, its not sticky like sushi rice should be.... it has this weird over-cooked-macaroni texture to it.  You can't really taste anything but the rice and even the wasabi somehow didn't have much flavor.

I suppose I should give them a fair shake and try their Chinese food-style options (I am intrigued by a previous reviewers raving over the broccoli beef).

As for service, I was the only one there (perhaps a bad sign?) but when I asked if they made sushi to order and they said yes, I ordered two rolls and they handed me something from the case....???

I may go back for their other dishes, but I'm not sitting through this sushi again.
