The place is clean and friendly in a corporate sort of way.The double burger was ungainly and messy with the condiments and over cooked.I suppose burgers just come out "done".The onion rings were quite greasy as well.I think there are other burger joints besides this one.Given the price and experience I do not why they are in business.

I rather liked CG burgers; my first and only experience so far with this chain.  Wanted a burger and stopped in and considering what I got for my money I thought it was a good value too.  I took off a star because the "kid" who took my order had a crappy attitude; made us stand at the register for a while and then seemed bothered to have to take our order, but the food was quite good.  A burger, hand cut fries, and a drink for $6.99 is not a bad deal, especially when it is good quality to boot.  I would say CG Burgers is comporable to Five Guys, and better than Burger FI and Shake Shack.  I would definitely return.

I went to CG's and had a Napa Burger.  It was perfectly cooked; the arugula was fresh; and the goat cheese was awesome.  The service was spectactular in that I was constantly attended to, which is more than what I expect from most counter service type establishments.  I would recommend it to anyone.

Clean newer establishment.  Friendly counter people.  I used to get the grilled mahi mahi sandwich, but they discontinued it. :-( (it was great !)   So now I get the grilled chicken sandwich.  They cook everything fresh, so it can take 15 minutes, but it's well worth the wait and they bring your food to your table.   For $2 more, the chicken sandwich is far better than anything you can get at a typical fast food restaurant.  You also get a choice of about 12 different free toppings like grilled onions, horseradish, etc.

I contemplated giving this place one star but it wasn't deplorable- but it was just NOT GOOD!!! Would never think of going back. Food was blah- fries were cold, burgers were small and unremarkable, tables were dirty- had to ask them to clean them, condiment/drink area was dirty.... the servers were nice but kind of absentminded. All in all- have to recommend against it.

The first time I came to CG, I was well impressed.  Good burgers, great service and beer.  What else could any red blooded American want?  Today I went there and got the opposite.  An overcooked burger, crap service and I had a water.  Well maybe the last piece of the puzzle was my fault but that still doesn't excuse the place of being a filthy mess.

I hardly ever do reviews, but wanted to give folks a heads up. According to their manager, medium rare is their specialty and they are only required to cook turkey burgers to 140 degrees (and on the phone I said no fewer than three times 'turkey burger', so there was no confusion w/ their other burgers.) Had I known that, I would have asked to have mine cooked well and I may have liked it better. Then maybe three stars? Manager offered for me to get anything else on the menu, but by then it was 30 min later and I was home already. Wasn't worth going back there for $8. Cute place, friendly staff, but be aware you need to ask to have your turkey burgers cooked to well done.

Very good hamburgers and fries in a clean restaurant.

This is a typical upscale burger restaurant where you order, get a number, and your order is cooked while you wait. they even have the Freestyle Coke machine with 100 flavors.

    Overall satisfying experience.

The parking can be tight during lunch hour.

Tiny burgers! Nice place but dissatisfied by the quality of the meat! Such a shame, lack of motivation and imagination will be the death of this place! Overall  1 out of 5 and that's being generous!

Food= 4.5 very tasty burgers and fries. Each and everytime.
Service=2 tonite it took 12 minutes to get our order. And there were exactly 2 other people in the place. Seems like the employee turnover is very high.
Value= 3.5 prices are a bit too high,,but if you spend $50 you get $5 off by using their cgburger card.

Pretty good...the fries are tasty. The only burger I've had thus far is the Kobe Burger. It's not overcooked, the sesame seed bun does not feel soggy. I love that fountain soda machine they have there, it has like 50 flavors of soda and fruit drinks.

I also had the dessert brownie. Very good...nom nom nom!

While Burger Fi is still the burger champ for me, CG is a close second...

Selection looks good. Will post a review après le diner...  :)

[Post-Dining Review]  I'll just get right down to the nitty-gritty:  Ordered a California Burger (double-patty Angus; sprouts; avocado -- you know, all that healthy Cali-stuff).  The menu looked inviting and promising, and (maybe) I was expecting much more.  When the counter gal rang up the bill -- 22-bucks for two hamburger combos (I was with a buddy) -- I joshingly said to the gal that that's a lot of money for two hamburgers.  She assured me that CG's burgers were WELL-worth the price!  So, we sit down, place our order number on the metal holder at our table, and await the goodness to arrive....  Let's just say that when the plates arrived, the anticipatory smiles -- to paraphrase that old Sly Stone tune -- turned upside-down, my friends.  There was absolutely nothing special in the "look" of this burger:  smallish and packaged preparation; two pre-made patties (like you'd get from any frozen food section) that fit perfectly within the confines of the bun, 3 slices of jalapeno (which I ordered separately), 1 slice of wilted iceberg lettuce, 1 slice of unripened tomato, and a squirt of (what I also ordered extra) so-called chipotle ketcup.  That's it!  This certainly did NOT look like a so-called "California burger"!  Where's the sprouts?  Where's the avocado?  Naturally, they made a mistake on the order.  So I take the burger back to the gal and say there must be a mistake.  She was apologetic.  She returned with the platter a few minutes later and said she didn't know that I had ordered sprouts and avocado.  Uh, I didn't order sprouts and avocado:  the menu said there'd BE sprouts and avocado on the burger; thus, "California burger"....  Egads!  The side of fries that came along initially was still on the platter, but now they were on the cold side since they'd been sitting on that platter the whole time -- I guess the kitchen doesn't have a heating area to keep meals hot.  These so-called "Angus" beef patties were no thicker than those patties you'd get on any Big Mac -- and just as dry.  The sprouts amounted to no more than a teaspoon (at best); the avocado slices were certainly the smallest slices I've seen on any burger -- like those delicately petite, thin slices you'd find on a piece of sushi.  Ba-dump-bump...!  VERY disappointing, esp. for the price....  Of course, I was so hungry, having just got back from SCUBA class, I scarfed the whole thing down without relishing any mouthful.  On the positive side:  The cold-ish fries were pretty tasty -- although, as stated, I was famished so just about anything would've been palatable.  I'd've given this place a 1-star; however, the gal who brought my order was sincerely apologetic, so I'm being Mr. Nice-Guy this time around....  No second servings for me here, though....  :P

P.S.  I suppose if you had a stomach the size of a bird, this burger would appear "huge"....  [I'm letting my buddy do his own review -- he liked this place even less....]

I am VERY disappointed in this establishment.  The burgers are small thin pucks that are over cooked, minuscule condiments and way over priced for what you get.  I ordered one of their specialty burgers, The Napa Valley.  I was expecting a pile of arugula, goat cheese and honey mustard sauce.  It had 5, yes 5 blades of arugula, 4 small crumbles of cheese and about a teaspoon of sauce.  They did bring me more after I asked if that's all that came with it.  The arugula was wilted :(
Try 5 Guys if you want a great burger at a great price.

Well that was not the best tasting burger in the world unless you are into salt licks!  Not a good experience for me.  I can now say been there done that and move on. You want a great burger... Go to flanigans and have their 10 oz $5.99 burger. That has flavor. And it's only $5.99 so you can treat yourself to something else later... But I will say their self serve coke machine is super cool and fun to use... That is the positive I will take home with me lol

The staff was nice and the fries were good, but the burgers were clearly not fresh, not hot enough (didn't even melt the blue cheese), tough and overcooked. The meat tasted like it was sitting around at room temperature all day and they just threw it on the grill to warm it up. There are just too many other reliably good places in that area to bother with this place again.

CG seems to raise their prices once a week. I no longer eat here, because every time I go, I enjoy it less. A burger, with a drink but no fries, now runs you around $12 = insane! While the prices climb, the quality falls. The place is always empty, which says a lot (at least on weekdays for lunch)

I LOVE BURGERS! Being a vegetarian though I can sometimes get stuck with the same old crap. Not here. OMG Everyone in our group was happy, meat eaters and veggies a like. I got the veggie burger on a lettuce bun with sprouts and blue cheese crumbles. I brought my own veganiase (because I don't like mayo). It was stellar! with sweet potato fries! Two thumbs up, go there!

Yuck. Food was bland and messy. Their "original" chicken wings were particularly tasteless. The burger was one notch above the chicken wings, but barely. The fries were decent. I wil not be returning. I would much rather go to Jack's or Gilbert's.

"Sprouts and avocado? YES YES YES"

Let me start off by saying that I am not a huge burger fan. I wasn't expecting much but last night, I was actually kinda in the mood for a burger. My excitement grew immensely when I saw "The California." I love Cali and I love sprouts and avocado just as much. Add tomato, red onions, pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, and spicy brown mustard on a WHEAT BUN! and I was in heaven. The veggies, sprouts, and avocado were SUPER FRESH, just delicious and the wheat bun was soft and scrumptious. The meat seemed perfectly cooked to me, but I will admit, I am probably not the best judge of a good hamburger patty.

I loved all the topping options, the fries were yummy, and they had one of those new coke machines with like 100 flavors (always gets me kinda excited). I had diet vanilla rootbeer and it tasted pretty good!

I will not hesitate to say that this was the best burger I have had in Florida, and I will def be back. It is highly recommeneded, especially if you want a pile of fresh veggies on top of your meat and cheese.

Loved the decor, the menu choices, and a hip, fresh salad bar!  Easy to order and the employees were super polite.  Couple of issues, however, to make this top notch.  First, the fries were tasty but NOT crispy enough.  They need to raise the heat on the oil and only serve them fresh out of the fryer.  Zucchini fries tasted fresh and creative - a nice choice.  Onion rings were a hit; huge and crispy with a real sweet onion flavor.  Yum!  Most importantly, the burgers were top notch.  The prime burger was worth the extra 2 bucks; thick, juicy and perfectly cooked.  The toppings oozed onto my fingers as I tasted each delicious bite.  The Mahi sandwich was fresh and spicy - we had it blackened - and it was finished quickly!  Bison burger was mega-thick and amazingly tender.  The rolls were all soft and fresh, always critical.  They have the coke freestyle machine, which the kids love.  Overall, one of the better burger places in the area.

OK, I stopped in here because I was curious.  I think CG is the 6th guy that 5 guys kicked out of the inner circle.  So he started his own burger joint.  Nothing at this placed Wow!'d me. I ordered a classic with cheese and grilled onions. It came with fries and a soft drink.  I noticed that the salad bar had such a great variety of salad toppers and mixes.

The burger was so bland, and it felt generic.  The meat tasted like a frozen patty.  For an establishment with 8 people working and one or two tables in the joint I didn't understand why the table behind me had their order lost. The customer spoke up, and re-ordered.  The asked him a few minutes after that what toppings did you want on it...and then just as it was about to be ready to serve, they asked him again what did you order with it....onion rings...I watched as the fresh rushed burger sat there while someone painfully slow made onion rings. Poor customer.

Granted, this wasn't my experience, but mine was not any better, and yet I don't think it should have been that customer's either. I am not impressed and would rather spend $7 on BK whopper Jr.combo- no joke.

I say to Mr.CG if you are reading this: Step it up a notch or Chipotle and Pei Wei who are your immediate neighbors will take your business faster than you can say "order up".

I finally had to make a stop by C G Burger on Federal to see what it is all about. To sum it up from what I had and what I observed, it's a higher end chain burger offering a rather delightful menu with Cuban Burgers (supposedly a Miami favorite), a Philly Cheese Burger, a Kobe Beef Burger, a Certified Angus Burger, a Bison Burger, a USDA Prime Burger, roasted chicken wings, hand cut fries and a number of other goodies.

I went for the USDA Prime, rare, at 6 oz for $7.95. When served I found the meat to be of top quality and very tasty, however, as with other reviewers I found it to be way, way, way and again too salty. Phew! It caused me so spend the rest of my afternoon guzzling beer, which is a consequent result I didn't find to be at all objectionable.

For my money, which would be less, I've generally been able to get a burger of equal quality, taste, flavor and seemingly more meat at Jack's Old Fashioned. Hence with price proportional taken into consideration, I only gave C G Burger a Three Star whereas I rated Jack's Old Fashion as Four Star; but that isn't to say I didn't like C G, because I did. I just can't say I'm a actual fan of it.

Though I'm not sure why, everything about C G Burger reminds me of Burger Fi. Thought the two are unrelated, I can't help but think that some ideas form one was not in some way adopted from the other.

I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. They seem to have a good selection of burgers but I am not a red meat eater anymore so...the salad bar looked good but it was too late by the time i ordered. The veggie burger sounded like a mesh of 40 vegetables so I passed, had the napa burger, it was ok. I still like burger fi better.

Stay away; Fort Lauderdale has SO much better to offer. My mother ordered sweet potato fries and they messed up and gave us regular. We wound up with both kinds of fries due to the messed up order, they were both soft, cold and very unseasoned. We sent our wings back because they were cold, when we got them back they were still lukewarm and not to mention very chewy. Ordered my burger medium rare, and it was very very pink, even for my taste. Too many bad notes in one sitting; so we won't be coming back.

I usually write a pretty detailed review of the places I eat at, but unfortunately, I walked in pretty late after running a few errands in the neighborhood and decided I was going to try the 'fabulous' ribs they kept advertising on a sign outside and then again once I got up to the cashier.  The price was decent for a full rack.  Unfortunately, the rack itself was absolutely horrible.  The meat was tender, and it fell off the bone.   Unfortunately, the bbq sauce they drenched it in ruined the rack, which was already on the smaller side for a full rack.  Needless to say, 3 ribs into the ordeal, I had to wipe my hands with a wet nap and just wrap it up for the night.  I will be back to try the burgers and fries, but as of right now...I'm not holding my breath.

This was my third visit since I wrote my first review and ever single time I come back I become more and more disappointed in CG Burgers. The food, service, and price are making coming to CG not worth the .6 mile drive from my house to this establishment.

What is with the service at this CG Burger? Every single time I have been inside this place I get the rudest cashier. To top it off, she looked miserable. I do not peppy, but do not take a bad day out on a customer. I asked for fries and she hastily rings it up without me deciding which kind of fries I wanted from the menu. She then rings up the wrong price. Haste makes waste.

And the prices.... make the value not worth going to CG Burger. There is more value in burger places like Five Guys and Jack's Hamburger. $7.95 for a gourmet burger that is small, no thank you. Five Guys and Jack's both have more meat in the burgers and are cheaper.

As for the food, I was enchanted the first time, but now I am completely disenchanted. The fries were done well, but the burgers were a fail. I got a USDA Prime Burger, which was $2 more than their angus burger, and it tasted just like my girlfriend's burger. The quality was not better. Also, both burgers were very, very salty.

Burgerfi, Jack's, Rok: Burger, you guys can come back the new kid in town all of a sudden stinks.

Went there, just opened at location recently. I brought three friends there for celebration and we all looked forward to it because so many reviews in newspaper but have to admit we were expecting much larger, more filling burgers. I had the kobe burger and my friends had the bison. For a burger over $10, expected to leave with stomach filled. That did not happen. The burgers were very, very average size (taste was good and flavorful) and felt like we didn't get our money's worth. It's not a good sign when everyone gets done with dinner, and we could go somewhere else after to eat cause we still had hunger pains.

I really like this place. There are just a few things keeping that final star from me.

Let's just say this. Yes, the burgers are similar to 5 guys and even more similar to BurgerFi. However, CG I think is a little cheaper than BurgerFi, a little less "trendy" and more expensive AND more trendy than 5 guys. I like this middle ground. BUT they have much better toppings. Natural meat. Yay!!..I obviously don't care if my meat is "natural". What does that even mean?

Things I do like: Salad bar. I love salad bars. In the same way I love those freezer pops that you have to cut the top off of to eat. They're cheap and simple and tacky and they remind me that I'm not a complete stuck-up bitch. So yes, I like salad bars. This one has everything. But in my book salad bars should be unlimited. No matter what. No excuses and CG Burgers has 3 different size "salad plates". WHAT! Skip the salad. Half the fun is in filling up a huge plate you won't finish on the second trip.

So onto burgers. I've been here twice and twice I ordered the more expensive double patty burger and the plain old fries. I like not having stupid "seasoning" options. You tell me how you like your fries. But after eating my burger, I left thinking I could've ate another one. I'mn ot a sumo wresteler or a football player. I'm a little 5' 3" girl who should be dominated by any burger served to me.There goes that 5th star. If I spend $8 or more on a burger, I want it to eat me. Not look at the plate thinking..I should've got a bigger burger. There are a lot of options for burgers and toppings and you can get fancy or just keep it simple. This style of eating I like. I like options. 5 guys is the soup nazi of burgers. They deserve to be. But they still don't let you choose how you want your meat cooked and they have 4 items on the menu. CG Burgers has a lot to choose from. I also like the way they bring you your food on a real plate and not in a to-go bag. There is something very cafeteria feeling about the whole place. Something that reminded me of when I was a kid. I can't put my finger on it, but this place seems to "get me". I'll be back again. The burgers are just plain good.

My business partner and I had to go down to Broward Saturday and found ourselves hungry! We were on our way to Wholefoods in Ft. Lauderdale. While on the way, we pulled into a shopping plaza just south of Wholefoods and found 3 restaurants all next to each other, a Mexican restaurant, a burger place and an Asian restaurant. As we got out of the car we thought we would try the Asian place since we are very skeptical about burger places, we both only eat grass fed and like food fresh and as healthy as it can be. So reason told us to pick the Asian place! As we walked up to the Asian restaurant, we noticed a group of Asian people passing the Asian restaurant and going into the burger place!!! We looked at each other and agreed that we should follow them. We walked up to the counter to view the menu and were pleased to find such an amazing selection. The sign about the beef said it was "all natural," what that meant we weren't sure, so we ordered. I ordered the California burger on a whole wheat bun and my business partner ordered a lamb burger. The burgers were delicious, the patties looked as if someone had hand-made them, you could also tell they were all beef, nothing added. The salad bar had a fine selection of veggies that were all fresh. The service was great and the place was very clean. After rating restaurants for the past year of our Savory Delights careers, we know a great restaurant when we  see one. We even asked a few of the customers how they liked it, everyone said they were very satisfied. Before we left, we wanted to give our compliments to the manager and ask him what "all natural beef" meant to them. The gentleman we spoke to, who when asked if he was the manager said "sort of", said that the beef was grass fed with no hormones or antibiotics. WOW, we were so impressed! We thanked the gentleman we spoke to and found out that he was the owner, very professional in appearance and very proud as he should be of such a fantastic restaurant. Our only regret was that this awesome place would not be in the Award-Winning Savory Delights Greater Ft. Lauderdale book since we had already finished the book well before this delightful new restaurant opened. But as far as we were concerned, we found ourselves a burger place that we will eat at again next time we are in Broward.

Solid.  This place has good food, but distinguishes itself with excellent customer service.  If you elect to graze on foliage the salad bar is a nice solution. While condensed, it is three-tiered with lots of choices.  The burgers and fries are good, but the menu offers other choices including wings and a grilled cheese sandwich.  I really like the contemporary fountain with many drink choices.  Good seating options with booths, tables, and bar height counters as well as outdoor tables.  Worthy of a visit.

This place is OK, but certainly not the best burger in town.  The woman at the register became confused when I ordered a Pub buger with extras, by reading directly off the menu board.  We went and sat down at a table, and then a guy asked if we wanted the table wiped off from the last customer, or was it ok?  We opted for him to clean the dirty table.

As stated above, the food was OK, neither worth complaining about, nor coming back for.

I gotta say, with all of the custom burger places poping up, CG Burger may have wanted to step it up a bit. I realize its a chain, but still. I had their Lamb Burger. There are signs up for it everywhere, "All Lamb" "100% Natural". This "burger" got 100% lost in a very flavorless bun. It was just a tiny patty. All of their other burgers seem to be hand packed beef, but the Big Special Lamb, is a flat, thin patty. The fries were good though. With all of the choices though, I would try something else if you have that option.

This place has a lot going on. Burgers, wings, mahi mahi, salads, beer, milkshakes, etc. The salad bar was decent, turkey burger California style was much better than my husband's single cheeseburger. BurgerFi has better burgers and more focus on beef burgers. The service at CG was prompt. It's like mediocre fast food. Better than Wendy's. Perhaps they need to season their burgers or something. The zucchini fries were too greasy. Will likely go back for salad bar since the variety and price is good compared to nearby Whole Foods salad bar.

Checked this place out this weekend. I had a double burger and hand cut fries. The burger was good, comparable to five guys and fries weren't bad. An order is enough for 2 people. My partner had the mahi sandwich. He said it was good but it looked a little skimpy.  Next time I'm trying the wings as they looked and smelled really good. Salas bar looked pretty good too, there was a nice selection.

I took off a star because the interior is pretty cramped and meal is a bit pricy for what you get.

CG Burgers is a growing home-grown chain. Like many of the burger palaces that seem to be opening up on every street corner, this one offers the same fare of pre-designed and specialty burgers, or the option to create your own with "free" toppings (free for everything but cheese and bacon, which cost $.50). What sets this apart from say Five Guys, is the offering of specialty proteins such as bison, lamb, and Kobe beef. What also sets this apart from Five Guys and others in that fast casual genre is the somewhat expanded menu offerings, which include a fish sandwich, fire roasted wings, a three-tier salad bar (not all you can eat but priced for small and large plates), and gelato milk shakes.

Ordering is a simple process. Just go to the counter and you are given a number. Then go to the new style soda dispenser, with roughly 125 flavors of beverages available (you may have seen these same machines in Pei Wei or Burger King). Make sure you take silverware with you and then go to your table and wait for the delivery.

I sampled (1) the lamb burger with raw onion, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce, (2) the Kobe beef burger with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard ketchup, and jalapenos, (3) the zucchini fries with ranch sauce, and (4) the sweet potato fries.

The presentation of the dishes did leave something to be desired. The burgers looked somewhat unappealing as the one piece of lettuce on the lamb burger had wilted from the heat. But both sets of fries looked very appetizing.

The lamb burger was good. Not as flavorful as others I have tried, but you could tell you were eating a lamb burger. And the burger was moist. So points there. No points on the tzatziki sauce. I actually could not tell it apart from the ranch sauce that came with the zucchini fries. The sauce lacked any punch of flavor and did nothing to enhance the burger. The Kobe burger was okay. I am not sure it stood out from the large crowd of competitors. The sweet potato fries were good. The exterior was crunchy and nicely salted, which complimented the sweet and soft interior. The winner for me was the "signature" zucchini fries. These look like large crayons and thus you get a snap and a crunch--the crunch coming from the crispy exterior and the snap coming from the zucchini itself as you can actually taste it. I found the dish got better and better as the fries cooled off so try holding back from eating too many until the cool down.

The place is a nice addition for the downtown Ft. Lauderdale lunch scene. That is because there is not enough competition around. It should hold its own, but it will need to step it up. But take that with a grain of salt as I went here literally days after it opened.
