The worst Indian food in Springfield-Franconia region. The better option would be to try Aditi or Samrat. This place is really bad. I was the only person in the restaurant. The food was just warm. The jalebbi was cold & hard! The rice pulav and dishes were tasteless. The naan was ok. The dishes are not named or numbered. The service staff of one person was friendly but was busy for me. And I was the only one!!! Some shady looking people were entering and exiting the kitchen regularly. Not a clean place at all. Very few options and dishes taste the same. They use the same gravy for all dishes ... It seems. There are better options...go some place else.

Authentic place worthy of your visit! Went for dinner and was impressed with the portions and the chicken briyani. I've eaten briyani many many times are different places but this place is the best!

Went here with hubby today for lunch buffet.  The selection is limited, but the taste is off the charts. The only thing I didn't enjoy were the flavorless little chicken wings. Everything else was VERY SPICY, very authentic. We went through a whole pitcher of water. Not sure what you call the round hearth-baked bread but it was warm and so yummy. The spiciest items I had were the lamb meatballs and the chickpeas in sauce.  It's very close to our house and we enjoy that Pakistani/Indian cuisine. Since Afghan Kabob on Commerce Street closed, this is our new place.

Gave this a try tonight (Monday) and was a bit apprehensive. The restaurant was nearly empty but charmingly decorated, clean and bright.  Not familiar with Pakistani/North Indian cuisine (but familiar with South Indian) we stared at the menu for a while and started to balk at the prices. The proprietor came over and answered questions and made recommendations.  We ordered and were pleasantly surprised at the quality (and quantity) of the food. The service was rather slow, but they gave us a complimentary bowl of rice and an apology. Not the most attentive service by western standards, but very nice, friendly people with amazing food.  It's too pricey to make it a regular pit-stop, but we were loaded down with leftovers and look forward to going again in the future.  The Onion Kulcha was SO delicious, as were the featured lamb dishes that we tried.  The buffet was not an option on a Monday night, but I think we got better fare in ordering from the menu.

The place is pretty standard with a fast-food type of feel and good service.

I had the buffet here. It's a small selection and my favorite items were a spicy hamburgered beef dish (Pakistani, obviously) and the chick peas dish. Since I'm a carbaholic, I liked the naan very much.

That said, I will probably not come back again. There are just so many more tasty and convenient Indian/Pakistani places in town that have a better variety.

We decided to try this restaurant after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp and we weren't disappointed.  We ate here on a Friday night and ate from the buffet.  The owner was very friendly and personally took my wife and I around the buffet, explaining what each dish was and answering all our questions.

The food was delicious, especially the tandoori chicken and the spinach dish.  There were a lot of good vegetarian options as well as many delicious meat dishes.

It was reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food.  We'd recommend this place and eat here again ourselves.

Are the other reviewers serious about this restaurant or did I just come on a bad night? I didn't think Chutny's was very good at all. Sure the ambience was cool with the rickshaw -very cool for kids. The food on the other hand was just okay and some of it not good at all. All the desserts in the buffet and bits of tin foil stuck to it, like they had it covered with foil and when they peeled it off, it stuck to the food. Funny thing was they didn't just take off the top layer of ruined food, but served it that way! I've never before had Pakistani food, but I thought it would be similar to Indian, which it was.

This food was very ,very spicy though, definitely not for people who don't like spice. There was nothing on the menu my 5 year old would eat except for the bread. My husband was apalled with one of the stewy meat dishes because it had so much bone in it, he had to pick though it to get the meat, and I didn't like the same dish because not only was it full of bones, but sharp, splintery bones I could have choked on. I've definitely had much better food at other Indian restaurants, umm, not that this is Indian.

I was home alone last Friday night and yelped for restaurants in my area on my BB. This one came up, and man, am I glad I tried this place. I arrived around 7pm, it was dark already. The place was mostly empty - WHY?? Pakistani TV channel on both big screens, which created a genuine Pakistani atmosphere, which is good in my opinion. I wasn't there for the TV anyway. On Friday and Saturday nights one has the buffet option which I went for. One thing that was a little strange was that none of the friendly staff offered my a menu (maybe because I said I'm having the buffet?) but therefore I never had a chance to see the drinks menu. I would have liked a soda but they did bring a nice jug of ice water to my table. (They obviously don't serve alcohol). The food: Wow, really flavorful, delicious. Flavors I never knew existed. It's hard to imagine how the food could be any better than this. It seems really authentic. I will definitely be back.

I found this restaurant on Yelp, it had good reviews (just a few), but wanted to give it a try. My boyfriend and I went there on a Friday night about a month ago. We walked into the restaurant and there wasn't a hostess stand or a sign (Seat Yourself or Wait to be Seated), so we stood at the entrance for a few awkward moments. We noticed people walking around, but no one came to greet us.

Over half of the tables were empty so we decided to seat ourselves. A few tables had "Reserved" on them so we walked to an open table. We didn't sit down because we were not sure if it was truly "Seat Yourself." So we patiently waited a few more minutes. A woman finally approached and asked if it was just the two of yes (we were standing by a 4 person table), we replied, "Yes." A man then walked over (I can only assume he was the owner/manager) and said, "We don't have any tables available," he spun back around and walked away. There was no explanation, no apology, no "if you can wait 20 or 30 minutes I will have a table," no "but do come again."

My boyfriend and I were actually a little in shock. I have never been denied a table at a restaurant before. If they were expected a large group or private party, an explanation would have been plenty and I would have found another time to try the food.

But being turned away without any explanation or apology leaves me writing a bad review and sadly never trying the food. I hope they read this and improve on their manners!

Ordered the Chicken Tikka. Was concerned when the waitress said it only came with bread. No need for concern. She brought a simmering dish filled with large chunks of delicious chicken and veggies. More than enough to fill the two large pieces of naan about 12" in diameter each. And it came with a small salad. Great food and very inexpensive. Only 4 stars due to atmosphere.

This is definitely a 5 star for me, the best authentic pakistani food in the area, I recommend the chicken biryani and chicken curry. The somosas are excellent as well.

Best Pakistani food in the area, hands down.  I slept on this place forever and finally ended up going here a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised.  The buffet is very good.  The food was fresh and refilled quite frequently, which is rare for Pakistani buffets in the area.  I'd strongly recommend Chutny.

Chutny's is by far the best Pakistani restaurant in the greater DC area. Forget Ravi, Abshaar or the like, this is the place for authentic Pakistani food. The weekend dinner buffet is by far one of the best spreads I have come across. I have eaten in NY, NJ, Houston, SF and Chicago, and this place is by far my favorite. The food is Lahori style (Northern Punjabi cuisine).

Just for kicks, they have a Rickshaw (from Lahore) on display in the restaurant. Ambiance wise, this place is a step up from most Pakistani/Indian restaurants. Highly recommended.
