Clockwork is a super well done bar. Â Bottom line = rock and roll. Â This bar is awesome. Â Great vibe, punk rock and my favorite part is that they wrote the lyrics to the talking heads song once in a lifetime on the ceiling in the back room. Â Whoever thought of that was a freaking genius. Â I'm writing a review for this bar because it deserves it. I am also a part owner of a bar about 200 feet south of this place. Â You guys are awesome! Congrats. Â Â Tell your bartenders to come over and have a drink on old muzz man!
Review Source:If you are looking for a great punk rock dive bar, you just hit the jackpot.
$5 beer/shot combo, frozen margaritas, wells or bloody marys! How can you beat that?!
There's always awesome music playing.
Also Punk Rock BBQ's every Saturday just got implemented. (4pm-10pm) Kirk is usually working Saturdays= great tunes and stiff drinks!
First!
At what point does Lower East Side become a different neighborhood? Probably when the name turns into Rutgers Street, which happens to be right where this shiny new bar Clockwork resides.
Pumping new life into this cozy block at the border of Chinatown/LES is a cool, graffiti-laden punk rock bar with a bit more of a chic edge. Sort of like when your hippie buddy decides to finally take a shower and buy come clothes that aren't made of hemp. There's something refined under there, and as Clockwork works out of its soft opening phase, it's already proving to be a wise little dive.
It's a small, narrow space that shares a wall (and an address, strangely) with another new bar called Beverly's (more on that later). They've got a few nice beers on tap, a small alcohol selection, a few canned beers, and a back room with spray painted lyrics from the Ramones "I Want To Be Sedated." Me thinks they're onto something special and they'll be a fixture in the 'hood for years to come.
Their grand opening is forthcoming, so be sure to check 'em out before they get way too busy.
