Um, so I literally do not know what happened to this place. I know Eddie Bryant no longer hosts or does whatever he was doing here which is SUCH A BUMMER. Seems like since then they haven't been having consistent shows. My friends and I planned to go here, tried repeatedly calling on a Friday night and got no answer. The website is down, but I get texts here and there about shows, but it doesn't seem like much is happening here anymore. That's so unfortunate! I hope they get things back in order soon!
Review Source:This place was not as bad as they say! To me, it was Maryland's version of Atlanta's "Uptown Comedy Club!" This place is small and It is in a basement, at least for the Comedy Shows! We went for the "LOL @ Club Elite" Comedy night on Saturday's! It was only $5 per person if you recieved a text which we did! We had a BALL! All 5 Comedians were funny as hell! The Chicken Wings were some of the BEST I've ever had! They make they're alcoholic beverages VERY STRONG!!!! I REPEAT! VERY STRONG! I had 1-1/2 Long Island Iced Teas that burnt a hole in my chest and trachea! lol! She had 1-1/2 Sex on the Beach that was almost as strong as mine! They took "gratuity" out on our tab even thought it was just 2 of us! lol! 18% Gratuity at that! lol! The service wasn't even that great! But the place does seem as if it could be "Hood" though on other nights! The outside seems like "Velvet Room" in ATL cuz as mentioned, it is located in a shopping plaza next to a Beauty Salon and a Family Dollar! lol! Would I go again? For the Comedy Show, Yes, to hang out...FUCK NO! lol! Probally would get robbed or "stole on!" lol!
Review Source:I am reviewing the Laugh Out Loud portion of Club Elite for the most part. It a cool spot to find the great comedians you remember from Def Comedy Jam and Comic View. People who are up and coming or who may have been on the rise but got caught up in the business side maybe. They are funny as sh*t though. Eddie Bryant is a silly dude and most nights I went he hosted. He is definitely a rising dude. Pay at the door and try to come a few minutes early but seating is never bad because people come late (black people damN) once they get that straight and people come like there is a start time it will be better. I think people don;t respect the fact that its cheaper then other spots which TO ME is all the reason people should go! 5-10$ you can;t beat that for a good laugh. Now the drinks and gratuity, OFF THE DAMN CHAIN! lol I drink before I go but I still order a little something. I heard the wings were cool sometimes but yea drink beforehand. Its definitely not for the stuck up city folk. You gotta have some hood in you and not be afraid of the inner city. As far as the afterparty, its pretty cool to not have to pay for a party afterward. Other places should take note.
Review Source:Ok I would like to say we went out to the comedy show that they do on there bottom level. The show itself was great and the whole set up was nice!!! Please by your tickets at the door to avoid being robbed by ticketmaster service fees. The service at the restaurant as far as the waitress goes was pleasant the problem our drinks took 30 plus minutes to get to us no lie no exaggeration when I asked where are drinks were she told us they didn't have all the ingredients. Then our food which was an appetizer took 45 minutes!!! This is beyond ridiculous especially for a place that says you have to buy 2 items a piece and that gratuity is already added I see why cause I personally wouldn't have tipped ANYTHING. The show and setup was nice the slowness of our food and drinks were ridiculous!!! I would go for the show again just eat before I come and order two soft drinks that just doesn't sound like fun
Review Source:Can I just say I've never been to a club that was in a shopping center before? That made me LOL for real.
Club Elite is a 'hood establishment, no question about it. It's got a cast of characters from one of these stereotypical novels they're pushing as the next generation of  Black literature-- the ghetto girls with towering weaves and skintight jeans, the dudes who make you wonder if they skipped out on probation for a night on the town. The gang's all there. We went to Elite to celebrate my best friend's birthday after a disastrous hour at some loungey bar in Adams Morgan. I gotta tell ya, I was more than willing to take my chances at Elite after that.
Club Elite ain't swanky but I ended up having a really good time. This club is not for the uptight or the pretentious-- I repeat, this club is not for the uptight or the pretentious. It's real down home, like a red light basement party but with a bar and employees. The music was good (even the thuggiest thugs spilled out onto the floor when go-go came on) and everyone was peaceful, none of the 30 fights a night that can break out at some other clubs (ack! H20), at least not while I was there. I'd definitely go to Elite again.
