Came for lunch on Columbus Day, after walking around Georgetown. Â The prices seemed Georgetown-reasonable, and the menu GIANT. Â
I ordered the salmon burger, and probably ordered wrong. Â The fish was some sort of salmon cake, which was definitely did not taste fresh. Â So, that was a bummer considering the rest of the food looked good. Girlfriend got the "Chicken #1," which is an interestingly named grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, and it was really good. Â Also, adding sauteed onions and mushrooms cost 25 cents each - this is pretty cool, considering this is something restaurants usually like to gouge us with.
The service was ultra-friendly, and I do like this type of restaurant, which has a super-wide variety of sandwiches, entrees, drinks, etc. Â I'd come back if I were in the area and try something else. Â For now, though, it's 3 stars.
I am a fan of Clyde's. Â I've only been to this location in Georgetown, but when I am in the area, I try to make it here at least once. Â This is not a fancy or gourmet restaurant, but rather a good American pub. Â It has the vibe I enjoy in a pub, exposed brick, two nice bars, and and a pretty broad menu with good comfort options. Â The wedge salad and meatloaf with herbed mash potatoes hit the spot.
Service has been excellent each time I was there. Â They also have some nice craft beers on tap. Â For a nice casual night out in DC/Georgetown, this is a great option.
