This place was definitely not what I was expecting. First of all, we couldn't find it. All we saw when we got to the address was a small convenience store. Okay... So, we walk in and in the back of this little store was a tiny room with a couple of chairs and tables. We went inside and sat ourselves. The guys working at the register saw us come inside. No one came over to help us. So after a few minutes, we went back into the convenience store section and asked about the hookah. The worker we asked wasn't very helpful at all. When we got everything set up, the hookah was very strong for some reason, even after we moved the coal around. I coughed every single time I took a drag out of the pipe. I don't remember this happening at any other hookah place I've ever been to. I really don't know how this place received such a high rating on Yelp. That was the only reason we checked this place out. I was very disappointed.
Review Source:We were really impressed by this place. It's a fun atmosphere with great decor and exciting music. The owner was amazing, and everyone who worked there was extremely attentive and very friendly-- they gave us free popcorn! It's not a huge place, but a good size for the location. Also there's ice cream, sooooo.
Review Source:Think of a Korean karaoke lounge. Got that image in your head? Good! Now replace "Korean" with "Persian" (I think?) and "karaoke" with "hookah."
This place would be fantastic for:
-Birthday parties
-Post-concert chilling
-Backgammon or chess
-Anything else because, let's just come out and say it, there's nothing to do in Springfield
The coffee is a little simplistic and overly Western for a place like this. It needs to be marketed as being from somewhere between Morocco and Afghanistan. The food selection seems limited, but the sign says they have sandwiches during the day. The guy behind the counter was extremely welcoming and friendly.
So, all told, this place is really worthy of 3.5 stars. I'm rounding up because it's so close and the necessary changes are so minor. And because Springfield really needs a place like Coffee Pialeh. Go forth and conquer! or at least smoke some hookah.
