This place is a great gem on the west side and especially price hill. The coffee is great and the prices aren't too bad. The environment is great and the people are friendly. Definitely a great place to work. I did wait in line almost 10 minutes behind one guy chatting with the only employee.

Â Eclectic mix of seating options from comfy couches to a big meeting table in the middle of the room, and a nice variety on the menu of different coffee, tea, and cocoa to choose from.

Review Source:Who knew? What an amazing find, a true coffee geek's paradise in Price Hill, of all places. The atmosphere is relaxed and interesting with a slight boho vibe. My latte was prepared to perfection with coffee from a local roaster, wonderfully steamed milk and a latte art rosette to top it off. THAT, my friends, is coffee done right. The closest place that compares to this is Press on Wayne Ave. in Dayton. Well done.
Review Source:To be honest, I struggled with the decision of whether to give this place a 3 or a 4 star rating.
Some disappointments: For a Monday night, and maybe 25-30% of the seating taken, it took a really long time for me to just put in the order. I didn't really mind waiting since I wasn't in a hurry, but I feel like you should at least take the orders and make the food/drinks after so I could at least go sit down and do my work rather than wait 15 minutes at the counter. Secondly...I was really excited to get some latte art and definitely didn't get any of that. :(
Things that led me to giving this place 4 stars: The ambiance is really cute and eclectic. It was cozy, the barista who made my coffee was ridiculously nice, and so much sunlight coming in through the windows! This place is definitely a great find in Price Hill.
I need to go back for a second round to see if I leave with fuzzier feelings about this place, but yeah. Until then, I'd give it a 3.5 rating.
Price Hill sometimes gets a bad rep, and although it's working on it, it's simply not a destination spot yet. Unless you have a reason to go, you're not hanging out in Price Hill on a whim.
Let me give you a reason to go.
Corner BLOC is a coffee shop on Price Ave. You'd almost drive by it when coming down the street, as it's in a very non-decrepit looking building. There's free parking on the street, so park, and come inside.
This is where you'll go, "Woah." Corner BLOC is a gourmet coffee shop the way coffee shops should be done. You're hit with a wave of comfort as soon as you're through the doors - this is a very relaxed, very nice, quiet, fun place to be. There are comfortable seats, great artwork on the walls, it's just a nice place to be.
BLOC prides themselves on their method of coffee brewing - or should I say methods. They've got everything from Hario hollistic to Aeropress to French Press to more that I didn't catch.
They also do things like make their syrups and mixers in house, so when I got a mocha coffee with the chocolate add-in they made right there, it was rich, creamy and unlike anything I'd had in CIncy before. Woah.
This spot is worth checking out for sure. Yes, it's in Price Hill. Make the trip to the west side. You'll be happy you did.
The only place I've ever been to that has as many methods of brewing coffee as I do at home (I have six, last I checked. Â I may have a problem). Â
Big fan of the Hario, though I've found their pours to be a bit inconsistent. Â Still nice to see though. Â
The most surprising thing is that the actually have an Aeropress! Â I love these things, and they make a mean americano. Â If forced to choose I'd still go with Hario, but the Aeropress does work better some some coffees over others. Â
The selection is good, and this is definitely the best cup of coffee in Cincinnati. Â Neighborhood is a bit out of the way, so you loose on some of the cool vibe of people, but you can't have it all!
I'm not addicted to caffeine. I'm committed to coffee. Craft coffee is a tough bean to crack in Cincinnati. You've got Tazza Mia, annnnnd... this place (if you're reading this & know of other options... do tell!). Nationally recognized roasters aren't anywhere to be seen (Intelligentsia, Stumptown, etc.), so you've got local roasters to rely on, and Corner BLOC sources from a local roaster.
I lived in Cincinnati for 9 months in 2006, and I frequently visit for weekends, and (for shame) I have never-never-never visited the West Side. I have a sneaking suspicion that many locals have done the same way. Guess. What. Corner BLOC is a perfect reason to go West. Once you've wound through the hills and roads to get to Price Hill you feel like you just trekked to a far off land for a cup of black gold. Once you arrive you realize it's all worth it. Then you see their pour over bar and it's all sort of "I'm in Dr. Frankenstein's Coffee Lab" Steam punk badassery.
I've had cups of coffee with seemingly complete Hario experiences. Then, BLOC went all Hario holistic and handground the beans with the Hario grinder. I felt sorta bad ordering it once the line stacked up 5 deep after the order (note: no one behind me when ordering).
Solid cup. But... I have to say... as much love as BLOC is putting into their brewing process... they need perfect roasters, not almost perfect roasters. Granted though, I had one cup... which isn't a proper purview of judging a roaster at all.
There's ample seating, wi fi, lounge space, a huge drink menu, and free parking. I'd be here 6 days a week if I lived in the Nati, and I'd grow to appreciate the trek there.
This hidden gem of a coffeehouse is located in East Price Hill, just about 3-4 blocks from Queens Tower (where Prima Vista is located). Â It's located in an area with quite a bit of redevelopment, and BLOC often serves as a meeting place for folks doing great community-based work on the Westside.
BLOC is close to downtown (7-8 minutes), but unlike downtown coffeehouses, you don't have to worry about parking, and the prices are generally cheaper. Â But the inexpensive prices don't correlate to a lack of quality. Â
Indeed, BLOC arguably serves the best cup of coffee in Cincinnati, and will serve it via many different brewing methods. Â The staff seem passionate about coffee, and that's reflected in the quality of what they serve, and how they serve it. Â The coffee, cappuccinos, etc, are the best I've had in Cincinnati. Â But my favorite drink is the single-serving coffees prepared by chemex, Hario, French Press and other methods.
While the food menu is limited, the food they do offer tends to be high quality, usually all-natural and inexpensive. Â Their baked good are homemade and delicious.
The ambiance is quiet and comfortable ... books, second-hand furniture, and lots of windows and natural light. Â Great vibe all around.
There is also free wireless internet.

This coffee shop is one of Cincinnati's best kept secrets.
I had no idea that when I ordered a latte, it would be the BEST LATTE IN CINCINNATI. And I've been around and tried a lot of coffee at a variety of places. It's like none of the rest of them are even trying or something. It is that delicious.
Add to this a mighty fine grilled cheese sandwich, some lovely ambiance, and a fantastic soundtrack, and Corner Bloc is easily the best haven for writers in this city.
I feel very happy to have found it, though I wish it were located in my neighborhood since I rarely get over to that side of the world. It is definitely worth a bit of a drive for a Saturday of writing.
I am rather embarrassed to note that I have not yet reviewed Corner BLOC. To be perfectly honest, I was only there once...but if it were closer to me, I would be there all the time. And even as I type, I am planning to return.
Here's the low-down: beautiful layout. Fabulous, large tables. Comfortable chairs. A ridiculously friendly staff. Quiet environs with good music in the background. Delicious coffee--hands down, the best dirty chai I've had in Cincinnati. Great hours of operation, and all in all, an ideal study spot.
As an academic, I'm always looking for coffee shops where I can comfortably hang out for several hours at a time without causing the baristas any distress. Not only does Corner BLOC fit the bill, but also, I actually got quite a bit of work done there. This is absolutely one of my favorite coffee shops in the city--don't let the out of the way location deter you. Go here! often! And enjoy.
My wife and I stopped here on a beautiful Saturday morning. Â The excellent reviews drew us in, plus the known quality of the roaster they use for their coffee (La Terza). Â The environment was very calming and laid back - people working on their laptops, chatting, hanging out. Â The decor is a bit funky with mismatched chairs (similar to most coffee shops). Â Very clean and open, with big windows at the front to let in the sunshine. Â The space is just about perfect for a coffee shop.
But the thing that really impresses is the coffee. Â The barista was very very good - talking about different brewing methods while she put together a smoothie for my wife and a cappuccino and an espresso for me. Â She didn't waste a spare motion, cleaned up as she worked, warmed our food, discoursed upon the sweetness of the coffee from the Chemex method and the speed and consistency of the Hario drip method, and before I knew it, all of our stuff was ready. Â
Everything was good - the espresso was lively and had no bitterness, my wife really enjoyed her blackberry mango smoothie, the eats were excellent as well.
Fantastic ingredients crafted into excellent food and drink with interesting conversation not just from the barista but also the lady at the bar training the service dog for the VA.
This place is what every coffee shop should be. Â I've not been to a better one in Cincinnati, and it certainly holds up to the others I've tried in many other cities.
I've only been here a couple of times, but both experiences have been excellent. It's comfortable and cozy, the employees are friendly and helpful, and the coffee is great. I got a poppy seed bagel last time I was in and they offered me some homemade maple butter to go with it. What more could you want out of a corner coffee shop?

First, a good coffee shop needs good coffee. That they have! They use local hand roasted beans from La Terza. Â The bottomless cup I ordered was perfection. It was dark and rich without being burnt. Wishing I had some now...
They don't have lots of flavored frappes and crappes, but I happen to love purity of ingredients. If they are good, they should be good by themselves or at least, simply put together. So, I copied this from their website to share, "If you severely enjoy coffee...we have a few ways for you to try it. Â Aside from our FETCO "extractor," we can pull some espresso for you, brew french press, Aero Press, or prepare you a truly hand-crafted cup using our V60 pour-over bar (Cincinnati's first hand-crafted Hario Bar). Â From the micro-roasting session at La Terza, to our hand grinder, to the extraction, to the cup, you can enjoy a cup 'o joe the way you like it." Honestly, I don't know what most of that means, but I am willing to find out.
Secondly, I think a good coffee shop should feel like home, but not. It does. It's warm and friendly with perfect background music playing (no elevator jazz :). To add to the charm, they have a baby grand piano, a guitar and a small stage. You can go to CCM jazz night if you wish, but make sure to check out the painting of Jesus and Mary to the left of the bar, it is beautiful. Â Think Kilmt's "The Kiss." Â
Which brings me to my last point. Some people have noticed that there are some religious undertones. Â The name BLOC isn't a play on words because the coffee shop is on the block. Â It stands for Believing and Living One Christ, a christian non-profit organization whose mission is to serve at-risk students and families. Well, I'm happy to know that the little amount of money I spend there is going to a good cause and right in the community it serves. Â What a great concept!
If the religious undertones worry you, fear not. The only thing I think they would preach about is how to make good coffee.
if you call yourself a coffee aficionado and live in cincinnati, then i question your self-proclaimed status if you've never visited.
this is a a gem hidden away in an unpopular corner of the city. Â this is one of the few (if not the only) pour-over (hario) bars in cincinnati.
+1 for great pour-overs. Â i had a a mexican. Â very good.
+1 for espresso done right. Â among the city's best, for sure. Â i had a straight cappuccino and a latte.
+1 for having a guitar and baby grand piano out in the open, begging to be played. Â they also have a stage, speakers fitted for live music.
+1 for free wi-fi (with password)
+1 for the (non-live) music being tasteful. Â good music for a rainy/snowy saturday afternoon. Â kaki king instrumental guitar tracks, to be specific. Â it's rare that i don't have to get out my earbuds to drown out the ambient noise and/or obnoxious music.
+0 for eclectic atmosphere. Â mixture of different wooded furniture on tiled floor. Â artwork on display on the walls. Â a few books for sale. Â on old "walk / don't walk" street fixture mounted on the wall. Â a few panes of stained glass hung from the ceiling.
+1 for having room to move around. Â two large main rooms. Â there is a third with a pool table, but i don't know whether it's a part of this establishment. Â the two auxiliary rooms appear to be used for community events throughout the day.
+1 for the friendly staff.
+1 popular with the locals. Â definitely a community establishment.
-1 for mediocre lighting. Â a mixture of CFLs, incandescents, and fluorescents.
-1 for non-themed color schemes.
+1 for no minimum on credit cards. Â if you know you'll be staying a while, they'll let you open a tab (to minimize their credit merchant fees).
+1 for staying open relatively late (10pm on saturdays)
+0 for being closed on sundays
-1 for being a bit off the beaten path
+1 for having a fairly steady stream of customers, despite the location
+1 for soups and sandwiches. Â i enjoyed an 8" meatball sub.
i'm rating this as a 4.5. Â 5 for the coffee, and 4 for the atmosphere and location. Â but, i'm rounding up today. Â 5 stars it is!

This little coffee house exemplifies what a "coffee house" is all about. Â First off, it's cool looking when you go in with an eclectic mix of furniture that sort of looks like fun hand-me downs from your Aunt - you know, the one who buys new furniture every few years. Â Oh, and I love the neat things hanging from the walls.
Second, they're easy on your wallet......it doesn't cost $4 for a cup of delicious coffee. Â And, they'll even make you iced tea on then spot with any flavor you choose - served in a Mason jar, of course.
The place has free wifi and plenty of workspace for those times when you need to slip out of the office and get creative. Â I like sitting at the big round table on the riser by the front window. Â The people watching can get interesting, to say the least.
The neighborhood (East Price Hill's Incline District) is going through a renaissance so it's going to become one of those places where you can say, "oh, I've going there for years" when it finally transitions.
So, if you're looking for a cool place to sit & chill, read, or surf the web, this place will fit the bill.
Corner truly is as good as it gets. Â If you are a writer this is the place to be. Â Quiet, mountains of space and the best coffee in the greater Cincinnati area. Â Yes, it is THAT good. Â The food is home made with local, home grown fare including Snowville Creamery Milk. Â The coffee is beyond good - and the staff is excessively knowledgeable. Â The shop is a Christian nonprofit organization and they have two locations but they are not trying to convert anyone. Â
They also sport the best Chai Latte I've had yet in Cincinnati. Â They are closed on Sunday and do have music on Friday and Saturday nights.
I have BEGGED them to get a location downtown. Â In the meantime, if you haven't been here you simply have not had the best coffee in Cincinnati.
Thoroughly entrenched in Price Hill, this little gem was quite a treat. Â I had an iced coffee for $2.90, served in a large beverage glass. Â The place seems to have a religious theme, with books on Calvin's Institutes to the Religions of India on the shelves. Â Don't get the wrong idea; I wasn't approached about my spirituality or whatever. Â Seems like coffee shops might be a fine place to enter into a theological dialogue, and they have the resources to consult if necessary. Â
Cool art festoons the walls with an altogether chic modern look inside. Â The barista was a nice dude with neat tattoos adorning his arms. Â Better than Starbucks and you can help out a local business. Â Parking on the street, and they take plastic.
