The first few times I visited Cottage Inn I wasn't particularly impressed. Â The food was just ok. Â Not bad just not exceptional. Â I normally would not have suggested this place for dinner even though I can walk there from my house. Â I figured recently after a discussion with my brother in law I probably wouldn't go back. Â He had recently been and said he received cold food and was pretty sure things were being microwaved. Â Since I can easily nuke dinner at home I generally don't wish to pay to get nuked food in a restaurant. Â So why three stars you ask? I actually considered four stars based on my most recent trip but bumped it back to three because of my prior experiences. As I said before I hadn't planned to return to the Cottage Inn but I was having dinner with a friend and he suggested it. Â I'm agreeable so to the Cottage Inn we went. Â I figured if nothing else I'd have more ammo for a bad review! We arrived at around 630 and the place was maybe 2/3 full. Â We grabbed a table and we were informed it was all you can eat fried chicken night. Â I never remembered what night that was! Â We both decided to go with the chicken. Â The chicken was amazing. Â It was juicy and flavorful. I had the green beans and mashed potatoes and both were also very good, well seasoned and well cooked. Â A definite improvement from my previous visits. Â The service was just so so but the food was great. Â I was relieved I didn't have the same experience as my brother in law and some of the other reviewers had. Â Maybe this place is taking an up swing! We can hope! I will definitely be back!
Review Source:THEY NUKED MY FRIED CHICKEN.  One day after our 4-star review, we arrive in Louisville and head for heart-stopping goodness.  We sent back semi-raw chicken and heard the microwave door slam shut.  2 minutes later, same chicken is NOW a piece of steaming rubber!  Do they think I am at home?  I eat out to avoid cooking by radar.  The menu says fried chicken.  It should say  "delicious fried chicken reheated in a microwave and served extra chewy".
Say it ain't so, Joe! Â One of our favorite places for grease and flavor, just fell off our radar. Â Next thing you know they will forget to overcook the veggies. Then what?
