Only thing I can say is "FRESH, HOMEMADE FRENCH FRIES! Not frozen, commercially made fries, but fries from an actual fresh potato, made up in the restaurant (I asked), by hand. They are really, really good.

The fries come with some funky sauce but I'm a traditionalist and always go for ketchup instead.

It was a lazy sunday - our party of 6 decided to enjoy Happy hour here. Despite having all day Happy Hour specials on Sunday, the place was NOT crowded at all.

We seated ourselves and the server bought us iced water shortly. The ambiance was great for a causal catch-up session with friends. However, the service was very slow. Our food took about 20-30mins to arrive after we ordered. The server tried to be friendly but seems in a world of her own - we told her our orders, she didn't write it down and we got to wait for her to get paper&pen and repeat our orders again. Besides that, a glass of ice water slipped and fell from her hand - she did pick up the larger glass pieces but there were still some glass pieces on the floor, hope she will deal with them after we leave

Food was alright. The Happy hour prices were pretty good. We thought the rustic bread was HUGE for $4.50 - this is very filling. Crab cakes, served in 2 pieces for $8 was generously stuffed with crabmeat. The fries were crispy, not spectacular. It is surprising that with only a handful of people in the restaurant, the food took a while to come and it was only warm, not hot.

I feel that the drinks selection for happy hour is quite limited. There were only 3 special cocktails on the menu to choose from. As they were out of lavender that day, only 2 drinks to choose from. I didn't try any

I don't think I will come back . Then again, maybe i would, IF I am with a large group and we can't find a place to chill out

Happy hour prices are good, half off the small plates menu. We had the tuna, crab cakes and rustic bread and all three were quite tasty. Service was a little slow and the place itself doesn't have a lot of ambiance. Good for a casual meeting.

The reviews looked good so I went to check it out. I was surprised to find it located in a hotel lobby. I sat at my table for quite some time waiting for my date to arrive and never got served a glass of water, and even after my date showed up we had to flag a waiter down to get a glass of water. For these reasons its gets 3 stars.

Complaints aside, this place has a chic and modern vibe to it. This is an upscale place! My drink was perfectly prepared with mint and lime and cucumber, a new combination for me that was savory.

The peppered tuna was also served on a very fancy plate that seemed designed for the dish, and the the fish was carefully prepared to reflect the skill involved in its creation. Well done!

I might go back, but this place seems like it is more suitable to hotel guests, date nights, and business-client gatherings. Not the most social place.

I can't say I'm excited about the food served at this restaurant.  All the items on the menu are just OK.  You do get a discount for checking in through yelp.

I've been on nights they've had live music which is a nice touch but not that important to me.

If you're just having wine and want a low key place to chill this is a nice place for that.  They have a fireplace which is really nice for those colder months.  Fairly private and romantic.

Parking is plentiful at Lincoln Square but the lounge itself is tucked away and not that easy to find -- inside the Westin Hotel.

I am a Bellevue local and accidentally stumbled upon Cypress when I was heading to a movie at Lincoln Square. They have a pretty generous happy hour - bites are half off and their wine pours are generous. Items such as sliders, tuna tar tar, fries, bruschetta, etc.
The service could have been better. When ordering our wine, I asked to see a wine list of what was on "happy hour". She wouldn't provide a list of any of the wines that they had, but rather, just said she would pour us what she had open. I let her know I "preferred bold wines, and didn't want something as light as a pinot". She seemed very confused, and I finally had to let her know I didnt want a "light wine". She did not know what a pinot noir was..
The ambiance was nice, there were barely any tables taken, so it was quiet, and it seems to be convenient to go there during a high traffic happy hour time when other restaurants are a fight to get a seat in the bar. I would go back only for their happy hour deals & prices, but not for the service.

I suspect a lot of people's sentiments will be based on why they went to a given place.  I did not go to eat - so I could really care less about how the food was.  I was looking for a quiet, relaxed sort of semi-romantic place to visit with a lady friend.  I visited on 12/14/12.  The lounge area in front of the fire place was perfect with sort of couch like seats that two can nicely sit together (etc.  :-) ).  We went down to the far end - had a nice view out the window - relatively private.  Nice pour of a delicious McCallan's 12.   Nice little lounge band playing quietly in the back - where we were there was no effect except back-ground music.

Perfect place for this purpose - I am certain we will be back!

Double dipping downgrade.  The stars aligned to give me the most perfect imperfect happy hour.  Imagine...

A long, dreary, stressful day.  Finally, it's quitting time and starving to the point that the stomach is roaring and in pain.  The first place on the mind, Cypress, good ol' Cypress inside of the Westin, yea, that's the ticket.  An hour of fighting traffic to get to downtown Bellevue, thinking about how satisfying a great HH would finish the night.

I finally arrive and only not too busy, probably 20% occupied with patrons.  The server takes my order.  I get my water pretty promptly but then 10 mins go by, 15, 20, then at the 30 min mark, I had to get up and ask for my freakin' food.  The manager seemed to care and told me it'll be right out.  Five mins later, the food does come out!  Eh, maybe they are short-handed tonight so it takes longer I thought.

The food looks good so I start munching:

Crab cakes:  just as I remembered it, but a bit lukewarm.

Mini burgers:  Cold bread and meat.  Yuck.  I place that aside, angry but went on to the next dish, dying for sustenance.....

Manila Clams:  Again, not warm at all and most of them were sandy!!  Argh!!

Bruschetta:  No one can mess this one up, right?  WRONG!!  The toppings tasted like they just came out of a refrigerator!  Bread base soggy to make matters worse.

My theory here is that someone dropped the ball and did not pick up my order from the counter for at least 10-12 mins causing the food to drop in temperature, then was eventually fetched.

Disgusted, I brought up yet another complaint to the server about this mess and thankfully they didn't charge me for the nasty meal I waited 35 mins for.  Grabbed my stuff and left for Din Tai Fung (DTF) and never looked back.  What a change from my first visit, so disappointed and swearing in my head all the way to DTF.

I came here last night with a friend for the Happy Hour (5-7pm), and it was so good that I cannot believe how few people were in the lounge. We were there for a couple of hours and saw maybe 10 people, most of whom were just getting a quick drink with co-workers. I guess it's good to know that this place is still off the grid! The drinks were strong and the wine pours generous, the plates of food were HUGE, and the prices were amazing. We got two cocktails, one glass of wine, four appetizers (rustic bread with tapenade and roasted veggies, seared ahi, huge bowl of clams, and mini burgers). Everything was absolutely delicious--and our bill was $39. Seriously??? I will be back many, many times.

This place is great! Nice inside and cute outside seating. You have got to check out Happy Hour it's from 5-7 and the menu is delicious . A friend and I went for HH we got two drinks and 5 appetizers the cost was only $41! That's a steal here in Bellevue :)

Perks: Great happy hour: draft beer, wine and mixed drinks are included; appys are 1/2 price. Central to downtown Bellevue. Lots of attractive, probably single women (if that's your thing). Decent people watching, both on the street and in the lobby.

Downside: It's a hotel. They were out of a number of beers, and did not have kegs for restock or rotation. They were also out of a few food items, not that it mattered when we decided to order: a last second, enormous banquet order kiboshed Cypress food orders after 7 pm. We wound up wandering over to Lot 3 for dinner.

Tried happy hour here for the first time and I'm quite impressed with the menu! half off appetizers and small bites so everything was around $5-7.

This is inside the Westin hotel in Bellevue and opens at 5pm other wise it's closed after 2.

I highly recommend the chicken wings/drumsticks here because they give you generous amounts of buffalo/ranch sauce to dip them in.

The portions are generous but I didn't enjoy the ahi tuna here.  The taste of it was lacking and pieces were cut small and slightly overcooked. Presentation and service of the food was nice though!

Oooh forgot to mention that they sometimes would have live music entertainment on Thursday or Friday nights from 8 to 11 pm. We watched the live vocal jazz performance once. Another reason why I love this place.

So,first, the servers tend to disappear they must have to travel far to bring food- seriously understaffed , 45 minutes to get apps. Wine is generous and excellent as are beers. Food is ok-ribs cold, medit plate good, clams so so, breading on calimari overwhelming. Nice atmosphere.

I've never actually wrote a review for anything, but after having the Butter Manila Clams here, I had to.  I'm not even a seafood person but when the couple at the bar next to me ordered them, they looked too good to pass up!  At 8 dollars these clams are a deal, but with the happy hour half off deal, I was sold.  It's definitely worth a drink and a try.

This is a cute lounge that is a part of the Westin. I can see this being a place to relax, have a small bite and enjoy a drink or two with a small group of friends or a date. I went there the other day when they had live  music. It was a jazz quartet, and I was surprised to see them there. I didnt know Cypress had live music, but I'm certainly not complaining. The singer, who looked about 17, had an older classical jazz voice. It was NOT what I was expecting, but she was amazing! The band itself sounded professional and it was just a nice little addition to the lounge. I'll be returning.

If you need a small place to grab a drink and snack on some delicious small bites - Cypress Lounge is just for you. They have a full bar with indoor and outdoor seating (depending on the weather, as well as a fire place and comfy chairs.
Their main bartender (Jonathon), is insanely amazing at creating his own drinks to match your taste. He by far is outstanding and truly makes Cypress Lounge a place to check out!
Their pizza's and Gorgonzola fries and a must have and don't forget to check out the dessert menu!!!
Watch out - you might plan to just drop by for a cocktail after work, but find yourself wanting more and enjoying the fun atmosphere here at the Cypress Lounge.

A nice little suprise of a place tucked away in the lobby of the Westin Hotel/Bellevue.
As seen in the the previous review of this place, if your looking for a place to kick up your heals and maybe have a cold one and a snack out on the town during a major holiday, this is a very good option!  I am not a huge booze hound, so admittedly, I cannot truly comment on the quality of alcoholic beverages in this place.   There is an rather extensive wine collection which makes up the bulk of the menu.  The interior has a modern feel, nice comfy seating.  I would opt to sit in the seats by the faux fire place which faces some rather large windows.  Good for people watching and the like. There is rather small flat screen t.v. in the corner, definitley not the place to go to watch the big game!  The food menu features some light dining small plate options, usually I end up with dessert which has always been good.  There isn't a 'snarky' attitude in sight whether you are just getting a diet coke to justify the nice comfy seat. Service has always been spectacular. Got to love that Westin hospitality!

Looking for a place for a drink on Christmas Day, I ended up at the new Westin Hotel in Bellevue, which is gorgeous.  Cypress is the lounge/bar which is right off the lobby, and decor is very modern yet subdued.  Think of natural rock, muted colors, and a fireplace.  Large windows overlook the street for people watching, or in this case, the rain.  The menu had some nice updated choices like chile glazed wings, but the real draw was the wine.  OK, it isn't cheap, with many wines in the $15 to $20 per glass.  But there were some real nice selections like the Ethos line from Chateau Ste. Michelle, which totally puts to shame their regular wines. Service was attentive, but then again, we were the only patrons after awhile.  Overall, a great place for a drink to escape the hustle and bustle of Bellevue Square, away from the shoppers and chain restaurants.
