They were very accommodating by changing the tv channels for us. However, the "not sweet" specialty margarita was too sweet and the other dishes sounded better than they were. Garlic fries were delicious! Another example of great potential not being fulfilled. Carpet floor is horrible, place looks dumpy, keep working on the tiki theme and bring in better quality products and drinks, big kahuna, you could be really cool. Plastic cups for the specialty drinks? Put it in a tiki mug that I can pay extra for and take home! I guarantee threefold the business if you up your ante. Plenty of people visit yearly looking for tiki bars to spend $ at (see Hukilau), but no respected tiki lover will waste time here when Mai Kai and the old Yankee clipper tiki bar is nearby. By no means, dont replicate them, but how about a more affordable, laid back, fun beach tiki bar? Also, let me sit at the bar and chill instead of asking me every five minutes if I'm ok. I appreciate the attentiveness, but that's a bit too much.

We stopped in for a drink on Valentines day to avoid the rain. The host was very friendly and welcoming. We sat at the bar and I instantly got a bad vibe from the bartender. But I just figured I was being overly sensitive so we continued to order our drinks. As we were sitting there they had placed something that what looked to us like watermelon in a martini glass nearby. We were curious about it so I nicely asked the bartender what it was, she responded with an evil look and a snooty "its tuna" as she moved it to the other side of the bar as if we were going to steal it. So we continued on our drinks when I just couldn't take the hostility vibe anymore so I nicely told her we were ready for our check. She verbally gave us our total and walked away, never giving us a second look again to see if we had paid. I put down enough cash to cover the drinks plus a 50% tip (it was happy hour). After waiting 20 minutes for her to give us her attention (or at least pick up the cash) we just decided to leave. As I'm walking out the door the bartender screams at me from across the room that I have to pay my tab and sends a waitress to grab me. I could not believe this...... I turned around, grabbed the cash off the bar and handed it to her.

I just COULD NOT believe the disrespect I received from this bartender..... I understand that we came in right at the end of happy hour and only ordered a drink each BUT I do work in the service industry so I ALWAYS tip very well over 20%. After all was said and done I regret tipping her as much as I did.

To sum it all up, I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN.

Good food good view hostess was great but or server was really really bad. The server was un-attentive and un-friendly. I was not happy. I would have enjoyed it much more if my server was not horrible at her job.
