Shula's On the Beach

"Do you accept gold bricks?"  Wholly MOLEY!  I eat at steakhouses all over the planet and this was pretty expensive.  Was it good, YES.  Was it "worth it" - I guess it depends on how hard you work for each dollar you make.  Food was good and abundant.  Cool iPad app to help you pair wine.  Service very good.  Just very $$$.  I'd go back, but probably only if I was staying in the Westin again.

Had our Valentine's day dinner here and this is how it went.

Our reservations were for 5:30 which is when they opened the restaurant. Immediately we were greeted by a nice hostess who kindly asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. The inside was nice, with a good looking bar, but the decor makes it look almost like a really fancy sports bar. We decided to sit outside where we got a gorgeous view right in front of the ocean. It was actually perfect and my girlfriend definitely loved having such a nice dinner right on the beach.

Our server ( I want to say his name is Raul, but it definitely started with an R ) was awesome! He was really knowledgeable about all the offerings on the menu, and offered his recommendation for the BBQ Shrimp appetizer which we ordered and loved. The shrimp was definitely way to overpriced, but tasted so good we considered getting another!

Our server kept checking on us making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it, and we even got a visit from the floor manager just to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We were very much pampered.

For our entrees, we both decided to get the filet mignon and a side of steamed broccoli, and a side of lobster mashed potatoes. The filet was perfect. I was expecting a lot from such an expensive meal, and I definitely got what I was asking for. The lobster mashed potatoes was the star of the meal though. I've never eaten mashed potatoes that were so good. I could write a whole review about how delicious the mashed potatoes were, good is a total understatement.

It was a great experience, and definitely worth it. After a $200 meal, I would usually not be satisfied, but I was pleasantly happy with Shula's.

Even though it was ridiculously overpriced, I still give Shula's 5 stars. Going in I was expecting a lot because I knew how pricey it was. It gets a 5 because with such high expectations, I was still impressed. Plus our server really made the experience that much better.

Pleasantly Surprised! I love when that happens!  My friend and I wanted to walk the beach and then grab some dinner/drinks/watch some football [it was the playoffs].  We noticed they had an outside bar, it was a great night, and had 2 TV's.  We sat down had a very nice lady bartender, ordered our drinks and chilled. It was great!  I landed up just getting a tomato, basil, mozzarella salad which was definitely big enough for dinner. They served us some amazing delicious bread as well and we hung out here for a couple of hours. I will agree with the other reviewer we got there a little on the early side but by the time we left around 8:30 pm the restaurant had definitely picked up in terms of number of patrons.

Definitely would go back!
