We went here because we knew that they would be broadcasting the EuroCup semi-finals & it was convenient as we live in Ossining.

The decor is kitschy & the clientele made me feel as though I'd stepped into a little neighborhood European cafe...which I really enjoyed. An assortment of Portuguese-speaking men lined the bar...watching soccer & sipping beverages.

There was a notice on the door that they'd not yet received their liquor license but you could B.Y.O. for a bottle opening fee of $5. I picked up a bottle of port next door at the new wine store (which is great) - I did find out after the fact that they do serve beer & wine. No harm...we savored our drinks throughout lunch & the game.

The service was friendly. The portions were huge.

I started with a shrimp cake, which was okay. It was a bit on the greasy side.  I had the salmon & vegetables. The salmon was done perfectly & was really delicious. Another in the party started with a sausage appetizer which itself could've been a meal. He then had a chicken cutlet that was quite good, slightly oily but not so much to spoil the meal. It came with french fries which seemed to be of the previously frozen variety. Those didn't impress me. We had espressos after the meal which were very good.

I gotta' say, the pros outweighed the cons. I like this place & will be going back for more long lunch/soccer viewing!

Food was OK, but not great.  Service was indifferent at best (e.g., I had given up on the possibility of getting more water when oddly enough they refilled the glass after the meal was over).  I got into a big fight with the waitress over the bill (long, unpleasant story).  I will definitely never go back to this restaurant.

there aren't many tables so we had to wait at the bar...but it's a byob. Luckily there is a wine store five feet away. we got a bottle and settled in for an evening. while we were waiting the host stopped by just to see how we were doing. when a table finally opened uo we were seated promptly. My wife ordered the grilled fish and I got the dobrada, a traditional tripe and whit bean stew. This has got to be one of the most flavorful meals I've eaten in a long time! at the end of the night the bill was less than $40. Good service, good food, good people.
