A local favorite. The new location in Chelsea is clean and big. Love the huge island bar and the outdoor seating. A good place to drink with friends or have a casual dinner. The fish and chips are one of my favs. The pizza is so/so. Drinks are decently priced for being so close to the city.

We really, really want to like this place. It's so close to our condo, and yet the past 3 times we've gone, it's been terrible - one time we didn't even go in for dinner, because they tried to charge us a $20 cover for some fight that was on (no thanks). I will say that they've got some cool cocktails that are worth trying.

We went here on Friday to grab some dinner - the Bruins game was on, so it was pretty packed.(They did have the patio open with a band playing outside, so that looked pretty cool) - we grabbed a booth inside. Our waitress took a little too long to take our orders, and our food took a while to come out. My boyfriend got the buffalo mac and cheese, and I got the salmon. His mac and cheese was definitely some watered-down easy-mac, and he had to send it back (I don't think he's ever sent anything back before...). My salmon was also nothing special, no flavor and kind of cold by the time I got it, but I was pretty starving.

After we were finished, we sat there staring at our plates for about 45 minutes without   our waitress checking up on us, or offering us the bill. And we didn't even see her anywhere to flag her down - even the manager / hostess seemed to have disappeared.

If the food was somewhat decent, we'd probably suck it up and go back again - but I'm thinking three strikes is out for us. Maybe this place is good when it's slow, but the food and the service definitely needs to take it up a notch.

I got a gift card to go here and it was terrible, their gift card system was down so I was not able to use the gift card and the management were not too friendly about it, they had to write down my card information which I was not too happy about so they could run my card later because  did not have cash on me..

Well, I shop at Market Basket in Chelsea every week and I've seen this place and never went in.  Some friends of mine and I decided to try it out yesterday.  I was less than impressed.  The decor in this place feels like you're walking into a huge tan box.  It's almost like they ran out of money when they were building the place.

We waited at the door for more than 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence.  When we were finally seated the service actually was pretty decent.  The waitress was very friendly, but she was training someone else and that was slowing her down considerably.

We all ordered the same beer and were promptly brought our first round of drinks.  We got our food, which was decent, nothing to write home about though.  By this time it was time for another round, which we ordered.  20 minutes later still no beer.  I had to basically waive the waitress down from across the restaurant as she was so busy that she hadn't been back to our table.  At this point I realized that this girl was handling the entire restaurant...which isn't small, AND training this other girl who was definitely slowing her down.

Now here's where common sense comes in.  Apparently they were changing the tap of the beer we ordered.  The waitress knew this.  Never came over to the table to offer us water or possibly another type of beer, nothing.  We sat drink-less with our meals for over 20 minutes.  Then she comes over, when we had already finished our meals to tell us the beer was actually out.  Arghhh!  I was very frustrated at this point, however I'm chalking it up to super bad management and not this poor waitress who was basically running the whole restaurant herself.  Not once did I see anyone who looked like a manager present in the restaurant during our over 1 hour visit there.  This was during the dinner rush too.

Don't go, not worth it.  There's a lot better dive restaurants in the area to go to.  Save your $$.

Just left and was not happy with the service we received at the bar.  The female bartender was not friendly at all, it took her 5 minutes to even approach us and it seemed like we were a bother to her.  She got one of orders incorrect and when it was brought to her attention instead of "I'm sorry, let me fix it" the response was a cold "you said this". The food was okay nothing special (99 restaurant style) but the service made it seem worse.  Not once were we asked if we were happy with our food by her or if we needed anything else.  She took an unfinished plate without asking if we were done.   At that point I didn't even finish my plate and just wanted to leave.  Maybe if the place was busy we would understand BUT it was dead (one party of two seated in the restaurant area and 2 other couples at the bar plus one guy just having beers).  Sadly, disappointed.

***  Hire people who actually want to work AND who are good with people is my tip for this establishment. ***

This place is your average bar food.  The fried pickles are quite good.  I was surprised when I ate here last week that fajitas were on the menu.  My choice was the steak and shrimp combo.  It was quite good.  The reason for the 3 stars instead of 4 is the guacamole.  It was clearly not made fresh and entirely too mushy.

I'll be back though to try other menu items.

I decided to try them out after having a few friends say good things about them.

I walked into the restaurant and took a long look around. The place was roomy, clean and plenty of TVs on every single wall. I stood at the front not knowing if we sat ourselves or if we had a hostess to wait for because no one was upfront to welcome the guests, so I decided to wait and it took 5-10 mins for someone to attend to us (bad first impression I thought).

We sat down and was quickly attended to by a waiter (Lloyd) whom gave us a warm welcoming. He asked if it was our first time there. I responded yes and he soon thanked us for stopping by and modestly said that all of their food was great ( my impression was that all waiters say that to get more business). So I take a glance at the menu and see that the food selection is wide and the prices are rather inexpensive, so we ordered some apps and out entrees (home made Mac and cheese and a chix parm panini with Fries).  The Mac and cheese really tasted homemade (not frozen) and the fries looked /tasted home made too ( though they could have been kept in the deep fryer a little longer ). The waiter was very tentative and with good spirits (as a previous user had mention of how they looked like they really enjoyed their job).

In closing, there's still room for improvement but I will def be returning again to try out their other plates.

Great food and great service. We went twice during a recent trip. Our waitress, Carol, was fantastic! She gave us honest feedback on menu items and helped me find something that fit my tastes perfectly! Really wish we had this restaurant a little closer to home!

I love Dockside. I love it for everything it is: clean, consistent, inexpensive, philanthropic. The owners and employees of the restaurant genuinely seem to enjoy their work and their patrons, a rare treat when dining out in Boston. My friends and I tend to go here once a week for some beer and appetizers, which are always good, though never fancy. Their weekly beer deals are usually more than fair, though Dockside is by no means a craft beer pub. They often don't know how to pronounce what's on tap. But no matter, so long as I know how to  drink it! It's the place you can go and be yourself, if yourself likes to wear jeans and hikers and messy hair, like myself does on occasion. I see a lot of other people being themselves in track suits and gold chains falling into the lush chest hair that peeks out from the deep V of some too-tight tee-shirt. But I digress. Dockside hosts a lot of charity events, and they donate back to the community. Who doesn't love that?! And they do trivia nights on Wednesdays (I think), so that's not bad, either.

I also love it for everything it's not: pretentious, loud, high-end. The place is roomy. There's a TV on every wall, if watching the game is your bag. There's no house music occupying the airspace between your mouth and your buddy's ears. It's just a nice little restaurant with comfy seating, good mojo in the air, and your basic American pub fare at reasonable prices. Perfect for what it is!

Finally a nice looking restaurant in Chelsea? Yes please! Once I walked in the hostess held the door open for me and welcomed us. We decided to only have drinks, we sat ourselves at the bar in front of one of the three bartenders. She was waaaay to busy flirting with the customers next to us and I know she saw us sit down waiting to get served, I was really hoping she wasn't serving us because it was already a rough start. So we sat there until she noticed us 5 minutes later, which is a  long time when you just want a damn beer. I know bartenders probably have their own sections of the bar but I noticed they were all over the place and serving anyone. When I wanted a another round I waived at one of the bartenders to get his attention, who was doing nothing who just ignored and walked by me...WTH! Its funny the person who really took care of us was Hispanic (something maybe wrong with this picture). It was also way too cold there, which was a real force. I'm sure I will be back when they open their outside area

Your not missing a thing at the bar, next time I go I'll make sure I sit at a table to get really served. I'm just hoping its not the lame bartenders serving me my food this time.

I really enjoyed my experience at Dockside.  Located right in front of the Market Basket in Chelsea, I ate there before doing some grocery shopping on a weekend for convenience factor.  Don't y'all hate food shopping on an empty stomach??  Somehow I end up with a carriage filled with uncrustables and Mama Celeste pizzas, am I right!?

Anyway, the place was fairly dead when we walked in.  A man held open our door, welcomed us, and sat us right away (he was a little weird but nice nonetheless).  Our waitress was great.  She went over specials and was really quick with our orders.  An owner was in that day, too.  She walked around asking how everyone's meals were and also advertising for upcoming specials which is always appreciated.  She came up and address my table as "Yous guys" in the classic old timey Boston charm we all love.  I got a low-fat dish and the portion was great with a ton of fresh veggies (maybe the with the proximity to Market Basket the chefs can run over to grab some fresh produce if they run low?).  I loved the Keno on the TVs and the scratch ticket machine in the front area... talk about keeping guests occupied while they wait for their food!

The bar looked great, too.  I can see myself swinging in for lunch or dinner again, or maybe a few drinks.  I think I'll try grocery shopping with a stiff Dockside buzz next time.

I was excited to see there was a restaurant in walking distance of my home. On Feb 25, My son, boyfriend and I decided to eat lunch after my sons basketball game. We were seated right away, and no more than 2 minutes later our waitress came over and indroduced herself. We ordered mozerella sticks, burger with fries, fried scallop, scrimp and onion rings, baked chicken, mash potatoes and vegetables, and each had a drink, which is refillable. When we got our food all 3 of us were surprised because of the amount of food on the plate. There was so much food on there!! Our waitres (Caroyln i beleive her name was) wasnt to overbearing and made sure everything was ok. The manager even came over and introduced herself to us. The best part about my experience here is of course the food, the amount of food, and the price!! It only cost us $53 for all 3 of us, not included the tip of coure. Well worth it!!!

    Came back again.....
This time for a quick snack.  Sweet Potato Fries- YUMMY
I forgot to sign my debit card slip and my waiter was very cool and low-key.  Did not make me feel like an idiot.  Thank God because at 40.. I'm a LITTLE old for the Eastie Chew and Screw.
The waitress remembered me.  Made me feel like a regular after only 3 dining experiences.  I'm still in love with Dockside..

Came here for a FREE (no cover!) UFC fight & have the following to say: bartenders are attentive & nice, beer selection is varied & interesting, they have flat screens all over the bar area for great viewing, & the chicken parm entree is delicious! While it does seem servers are novices, the price is right, the food is good, & if you come for the food, beer, or TVs you'll be all set.

Oh Boy -  where do I start.   The food was terrible. First they sent out the wrong order.  It was returned to the kitchen and the correct order came out 1/2 hour  later. The five other guest had completed their meal before I took my first bite. My entree was the chicken citrus.   The chicken was previous frozen, over cooked and had a freezer burn taste. The sauce was a tasteless and watery.

Let me quote the Sugarhill gang "the macaroni was soggy,  the peas were mushy and the chicken taste like wood.

Run don't walk to Tommy Flaramos across the street.

Let me start off by saying the food here was great. We went on opening weekend and our waitress was nice but we may have been the first customers she ever waited on in her life (no exaggeration). We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. After a half an hour our waitress came back with our appetizer and one of the entrees and started to run off. We stopped her before she left and asked why she brought them out together and she said she didn't realize we wanted them separately. We asked where the other entree was since she thought we wanted everything together and she said she was going back to get it. We did not see her or the other entree for another 20 mins. Obviously the service has some very major kinks to be worked out but like i said, the food was good. The appetizer we got was a spinach and artichoke dip that will have us going back for more. It was creamy, full of spinach and artichoke and was huge. The teriyaki steak tips were cooked perfectly and The French fries on the side were perfect. We also got chicken fajitas that had delicious seasoning that was not too spicy or overwhelming and the portion was really generous. Since the food was great we are going to go back to the dockside again but hopefully they will have made sure all their staff members have had basic training by then.
