I ordered the Jalea for myself. About what you would expect with fried seafood. Average taste. The surprise is when I got the bill and they charged me for the double-portion when I specifically asked for the personal. Â I told the waiter and he admitted that he may have accidentally chosen the portion for 2 people, but said there was nothing he could do because I already ate the food. Way to scam your customers. Beware of this place!
Review Source:I was in the area tonight and needed some food to go to have a late dinner with the wife at home. Â She wanted Latin American food and I had remembered seeing this place. Â I went with the whole pollo a la brasa with rice and beans. Â For $16 tax included, they gave me a whole chicken, rice and beans. Â The chicken was extremely fresh for 10PM at night and was seasoned quite nice, I even noticed a cinnamon flavor which I have never tasted in pollo a la brasa.. Â The rice was heavy on the garlic flavor, not bad at all. Â Beans were standard issue. Â I would go back again if in the area.
Review Source:While I am half Peruvian and extremely experienced in the art of eating good food I can consider myself very well familiar and can give good insight on Peruvian Food, dust found DA to be okay. Â
My review is solely based on Rotisserie Whole Chicken Combo which consists of a whole rotisserie chicken, french fries, and salad. Â I thought the chicken was a little dry and not as tasty as I have enjoyed, Tumi was pretty good (see my review for Tumi).. Â If you really want the real Pollo a la Brasa go to Peru' but if you dont have the luxury of doing so try DA.
Clean, Large Portions, and 2 to 3 hour free parking next to establishment. The food is well prepared and fridge or fresh stock is used. The folks in the kitchen always look busy. The Maze snacks are good while waiting and washing everything down with Inca Gold is good. More reasons to come back than not.
Review Source:I've eaten here a couple of times with the people I work with, and none of them liked it very much. I thought the food was okay, nothing to get excited about. The service was okay, a little slow. The best thing is that the portions are really really large, and pretty cheap. it's like $5 for half a chicken.
They also have a TV that is always playing Spanish soaps which I think is pretty funny and entertaining!
Overall, worth trying (maybe you'll like it more than we did) but nothing to get super excited over.
Once and awhile a bunch of us from work will come here for lunch family style.
I usually order for us because I am familiar with peruvian food. Ordering the rotisserie chicken is a must. That with the picante green or orange (more spicy) always goes well. I usually get the salad with avocado, fried yuca and fried bananas as sides. I sometimes order the Jalea = fried seafood combo. The Lomo = sliced steak and french fries stir fry is ok. The seafood and rice platter is also good as well.
The portions are huge and amongst co-workers. it can be a cheap lunch. Â
This place adds a different flavor to the area which is nice.
I rather eat here than Morris thai across the street.
