In an airport in MN. I chose DQ? Is that what you're thinking... Let me start off by saying but the time I walked off the plane I had already been traveling 14 hours and should have been back in Austin 10 hours prior. I saw many other places wandering around but needed to feel a sense of "home" to ease my frustration. Granted I don't eat DQ often in Austin but it made me feel connected in a way to the horrible travel day.
I give them 4 stars because as busy as they were the level was service, chatter, laughter, sympathy, etc. i received during my brief encounter was superior. I walked in grumpy and walked out laughing. It's almost as if this particular DQ found the right people to man this place that could tap into the weary traveler and change even a fraction of their travel experience.
The food was typical DQ as well as very fresh.
I appreciate the team that was working on the night of 1/25/13 - I really do. I was at the point of losing my mind and possibly being detained by TSA for an outburst had I not encountered these people at that point and time.
Good luck finding anything healthy on the menu. Pretty much everything here is grilled, fried, or frozen. ha ha ha. Wasn't feeling like having a burger, but with limited options, ended up getting just the grilled turkey sandwich before boarding our flight at gate C5. Sandwich came out fast enough to jump in line for boarding. Sandwich was good considering your typical airport prices.
Review Source:So we all have our vices; one of mine happens to be the classic DQ soft serve ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. Â I love that hard candy shell, coating the cool, smooth ice cream mound beneath it. Â Where else but in Minnesota would you expect to find a DQ in the airport? Â Here, near gate C-6, in the Lindberg Terminal, you can satisfy your craving for an inexpensive dipped cone, a Blizzard, or a burger and fries. Â You can then enjoy your carb-laden grub, while overlooking runway 30-R, before moving on to your next flight. Â A little corner of heaven during your stopover in Minnesoootah, don-cha know? Ya sure.
