    Dear Duke's,
Thank you for existing.  A turkey burger Hawaiian style with tots and a Guinness can always turn my frown upside down on a rainy day.

Have to write another review for Duke's because this is by far our favorite place to go for beer, wings and burgers. Their wings are to die for, simply stated. We crave them every day. Their beer selection is great as well, but don't always expect the beer you want to be there. The good part about that though is it forces you to try other selections on their menu that you would have never tried. Thanks to their knowledgeable staff, they recommend great alternatives. I also love getting basically the same servers every time we are there because we have been able to get to know them. It makes dinner and beer night a much better experience when the ppl taking care of you know you, so definitely an added plus! Lastly, I really like the music they play in there. The overall vibe is exactly what we are looking for for a night to get away from our busy work life's. If you haven't tried this place, definitely do and go during the week to take advantage on some of their weekly specials (it's also not as busy in comparison to the weekends). Keep it up Duke's, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

This place is great if you're looking for an extensive list of beers. My friend and I were trying to find a place to grab a few beers on a Thursday evening, and we ended up here since I was staying in Lincoln Park.

Their menu consisted mainly burgers, but we ended up ordering a bunch of appetizers (since it was buy 1, get 1 free).

    1) TATER TOTS & CHILI: Can't go wrong with tater tots!
    2) FRIED MAC & CHEESE: I actually didn't eat any of these, so I can't tell you if it's good or not.
    3) MINI CORN DOGS: Could've done without.
    4) POPCORN SHRIMP: Absolutely delicious.

Service was meh. I felt like I kept on waving for someone to grab our orders and to grab our bill.

Overall, it's a good place to grab a few beers and all, but not the best with regards to service.

If you are on here talking about the burgers you are on the right track, but you are missing the highlight of the menu: the wings.

Duke's makes their own sauce, and it's nothing like any sauce I've ever tasted before.  It's spicy and rich, somehow.  I can sit here and eat wings all night, and I did the night of the blizzard in 2011 (Feb 1st).  My friend was having her birthday party here and we just stayed there and ate wings for what seemed like forever because the weather wasn't getting any better.

Anyways, Duke's is great for wings, for burgers, for soup, for tots, for drinks, for anything on the menu.  The sliders are a solid choice, and you can get a different type of meat in each one.  Basically if you are looking for a bar with slightly different bar food that hits a home run every time, Duke's is your place.

I will say that probably you don't want to go here for take-out, we did that once and had to wait an hour.  But they did give us a free drink at the bar for our inconvenience, so it wasn't all bad, but we were super hangry by the time the food came, goodness.

My friends and I love Duke's so much that we have instituted Duke's day, a specific day of the year that we always go to Duke's.  Our goal this year is to pool enough money to buy a Duke Burger.  This is $100 burger on the menu made with Kobe-quality beef, lobster, caviar and gold leaf.  I'm not sure we'll actually order it, because I would really prefer $100 dollars worth of wings instead, but the dream is out there.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the drinks at Duke's.  They have $10 special drinks in tall glasses.  My favorite is Spacegod in the Rain.  It's blue and beautiful.

The atmosphere is top notch, lots of cozy seating options and a great lodge-y feel.  Go here, it feels like home.

Been coming here for burgers way before the burger craze hit . They have great burgers - and have great Bison burgers too (which they know how to cook properly). The waffle fries and fried green beans are must's as sides as well.

Duke's is a great neighborhood joint with an easy location and good staff.  I enjoy hanging out here for a drink and a burger and recommend it for a place with some ambiance.  It's a good go to!

Came here on a cold Friday night with the boyfriend and loved the interior of the restaurant. It's very cozy on the inside, great casual date spot. Their menu consists mostly of burgers; I ordered the Baja and the boyfriend ordered the Garbage.

Mine was delicious, I really enjoyed the combination of avocado, bacon, and monterey jack and it was pretty massive. I was incredibly full after half my burger. The huge mound of tator tots that accompanied my meal were also great. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's burger probably had half of the ingredients listed on the menu. His appeal to this particular item was its supposed gargantuan size, and this was not reality. Additionally, we had ordered a salad to share and it was brought at the same time as our meals which was a little odd. Maybe it was because there weren't a lot of patrons, or just the layout of the restaurant, but our waitress was difficult to flag down for drinks or anything we needed.

Overall, Duke's was good, but I don't know that I'll be running back for dinner. They do have a great beer list and I would definitely stop by for a drink.

Thank you Dukes for hosting my engagement/proposal night!

My boy and I met here two years ago for drinks and we've been dating ever since.  He contacted the manager to set up his proposal at Dukes on our anniversary weekend.  The manager was great and worked with him to allow my family to arrive early so they could be there, which meant the employees had to arrive early to let them in and serve them drinks while they waited (thank you to them!).  It was the most perfect night and it could not have happened without the manager, server named Jen, I think, and the bartender.

The food was as delicious as always.  Yay for fried green beans, mac n' cheese bites and burgers!!

Dukes will always be "our bar" in our hearts and I am so so appreciative that they helped my fiance make our engagement so special.  It was amazing.

Great beer, good food - amazingess.

I love a place that serves good beer.  There's something about how beer can perfectly compliment a meal.  Caution: your eyes can be bigger than your stomach at Duke's, so watch out.

We ordered the fried mac and cheese, wings, 2 burgers with fries and 2 beers.  Let's just say we ate ourselves into a food coma and it was the most amazing feeling ever... until your stomach starts to hurt.

The service was awesome.  The people watching was even better and there were so many TVs with every sporting event on at once, a guy's dream.

Good place for a date, to catch up with friends or just for a great burger!

Delicious Burgers, wings are ok. Tater Tots are crisp and yummy.

Service isn't bad if you are a girl :) I find myself frequenting this place because it is close to my apartment, but also because Matt is a sweetie who always makes me and my friends feel welcome.

No tapped beers, but good beer and whiskey selection. They close early on Sundays.

Aside from being home to the best bartender in the city, Duke's has a lot going for it.  The food is good and reasonably priced, the servers are fun and the atmosphere is relaxed.  I like the aesthetic of wood paneling and white booths; not trying too hard to be retro or trendy, just a nice contemporary feel.  Crowds are decent during dinner hours but really do tend to thin out later in the evening, for better or worse depending on your mood.  The alcohol selection is a bit of a mixed bag: you have every popular bourbon and Scotch on offer, which is great for someone like myself, but other options are certainly lacking.

I have yet to try their wings, so that is next on the list, but you are likely to have a good time at Duke's.

Get the sliders so you can try a variety of their unique burgers. I loved having the choice of angus, bison, chicken, and turkey. We also got the wings and really like their special sauce. It was like a BBQ and buffalo together.  The food was great but brace yourself for the service. It was extremely slow and received no attention from the waitress. Still give it 4stars b/c sometimes its just about the food.

Every year, I attend Wing Fest in Chicago at the old Plumbers' Union Hall.  It's awesome, I eat way too much, and then I enjoy sampling new culinary delights, attempts, and even the failures.  But every year I wonder why the BEST WINGS IN CHICAGO are never entered: Duke's wings.

Duke's has a homemade sauce that is out of this world!  I put it slightly above Timmy O'Tooles in terms of the overall taste.  It's not about heat, but you can get them pretty damn hot (about three shades below Melnick's) at this place.  The sauce has tanginess, thick texture, some fresh citrus somehow, and just coats the wings, your throat, and your belly perfectly.  I love the wing sauce even on their fries.  BUT WAIT A MINUTE!!! DUKE'S IS KNOWN FOR IT'S BURGERS!!!

That's right folks, this place has killer burgers with real ingredients.  I would not even bother going to Hamburger Loser's in Lakeview, Epoch Burger, or Burger Bar Chicago in terms of the 'Big Burger' scene.  This place is better.  I've rocked the Everything, Garbage, and--yes--even their veggie burger.  Every burger is awesome.  They make sure that even if you order a well-done burger, it is not dry.  This is made possible by the fact that they properly sear all burgers.  (I believe they do not even use frozen meat on most of them, but please double check me on that.)

Sides include fried green beans (who said veggies had to be healthy?), some delicious fries, and...heck, get a side of wings with your burger.

They have an assortment of domestic and foreign brews, and the scotch selection is not terrible, either.  Most of the time, I get my usual Lagunitas Lil' Sumpin' Sumpin', but this place can cater to any beer-drinker's palate.  They have a constant flow of new brews and new breweries, but still maintain some of the regular stipends like Guinness and Harp.

Ambiance is first, and foremost, clean.  It looks like a New Age ski lodge where you hunt Acrylic Deer.  (Actually, there are acrylic deer ornaments adorning the walls, but wouldn't it be cool to hunt an acrylic deer?)  They have several well-placed, mounted flat screen TVs with a variety of games.  No house loyalty exists for college teams like the rest of Clark St. at that point on the street, so you will be just at ease rooting for Wisconsin as for Eastern Kansas Tech. or something.  The Bears of course have the house.  The Men's Room is awesome because you need to be a hobbit in order to enter without ducking.

On the day I went (9/10/2012), there was not a Hipster problem like Jeff W.'s 9/14/2012 review, but I don't discount the truth to that.  Anyway, Jeff W., at least we agree (1) Duke's is awesome and (2) Hipsters totally suck ass.  (Oooo, I have it: a deer-hunting game where you can shoot at flannel-clad, winter-hat-wearing, Kurt-Kobain-and-Radiohead-loving Acrylic Deer!!)  When you go there, though, make sure that your bartenders are the two Indiana Hillbillies because those two drink jockeys know everything about the aforementioned beer selection.

Service is slow at this place, occasionally.  Chris C.'s 9/8/2012 review is an outlier because I've been going there for a long time, and when it's jumping, your food will take awhile but not always.  It will come to you perfect, but it will take some time.  Long story made short: do not go there starving, but the food is always worth the wait, and never go to Counter where you have a greater likelihood of getting an undercooked, overpriced piece of frozen garbage.  (I won't even write a review of Counter because my mom always said if you don't have at least one nice thing to say about a person, don't say anything.)

    Anyway:
    1. Duke's for Wings;
    2. Duke's for Burgers;
    3. Duke's for FRIED GREEN BEANS; and
    4. Duke's for Acrylic Deer.

Small spot tucked away on Clark... won't draw huge crowds but definitely a nice place to go to for good food and good company. Not big on sports though, as evident from when I came for the Bears/Packers game and barely anyone had an eye on the game. Should have figured from the hipster bartender/servers.

The beer list is great though. Their wings are damn good as well. They only have one flavor and they come drenched in Duke's "secret sauce." Can't put my finger on what it is, but it's definitely a little different but delicious. Has a kick to it but not too much. We got 36 wings for 4 guys and ran us less that $7/person. Not bad at all.

Wood paneling throughout the bar gives it a cool ambiance. I'm a fan, would definitely come back.

Their food and martinis are good but their service leaves much to be desired.  Went here right after work.  As usual they were understaff but not too busy.  All of the booths were taken so we sat in the loungy looking area in the front.  We waited almost 15 minutes before the waitress/bartender gave us menus.

The midget trixie then had the nerve to tell my husband that if we wanted service that we should go to the bar because she was busy and didn't notice us.  After that, we tried to order food from the bar but the bartender didn't know how to take our order.

Skip this place and if you're craving a burger head to the Counter up the street.

We come here often enough - it is a very comfy, chill place. You may have to wait a while for a booth, but it clears out a bit later in the evening; seems like many come here for dinner before moving on.

The burgers are great, decent beer list, and the service is always very pleasant and attentive. A wonderful small place to have in the neighborhood.

So many Burger Options!!! So many and you can have a chicken, veggie, mushroom, turkey burger.
It was a Monday night and we were hungry and some of us were craving chicken wings. We ended up here. It doesn't really have a bar feel to it...more like a lounge...and the beer selection is limited (booo), but they have a great martini list.

We ordered chicken wings and my friend ordered a buffalo burger which he thought was great. The chicken wings were pretty good with their "secret sauce". The sauce tasted more like bbq than buffalo...or maybe it was a mix of both. We were the only ones there on a Monday night...so I can't complain about service. :-)

Duke's has that sleep-good, you guys. That sleep-good!

Allow me to explain. A sleep-good is a tasty libation that you only need one of to put you in a good place. If you choose to go over one, you'll probably sleep well that night. Duke's martinis fit that bill. I tried the Correctomundo, strawberry flavored and made with tequila. SO yummy. The entire list looks pretty good, as does their selection of beers and wines. I can't speak on the food as I only tried the waffle fries. They were decent fries though.

Rumor has it that martinis are $5 on Thursdays. *looks at calendar* Only one way to find out...

    Around the corner.

I love this intimate little burger joint/dive. Great beers, service, crowd. There's always a good amount of people, but you can find a spot.

Most of the burgers are great, and so are the apps. They have lots of specials, so be sure to ask. Oh, and Gumballhead $5. TVs, cozy booths...what more do you want in a good "around the corner" spot?

Very much enjoyed this burger joint. Well worth the price value for their burgers. This place is vegetarian-friendly with their choice of either a portabella mushroom and a (delicious) veggie patty as a replacement for all of their wide variety of sandwich options. The beer list is amazing, also. I can eat quite a bit and it is rare for me not to clean a plate, but I ordered their "garbage burger" and I ended up having to rap half of it up to bring home.

Very good. Well worth your buck. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice burger place.

    Cheers.

Its very easy to walk by this place and never think about entering. The sign outside does not make you think about going in and looking through the window doesn't really help either.

A friend of mine sort of checks in here all the time and I would always ask, "dude is this place good or do they have a $1 special or something?" He told me the burgers are legit here. Last week my buddy decided to finally introduce me to this joint and as he said the burger was very legit. I went with the Breakfast Burger which included bacon and a fried egg over easy. Really good...the flavor knocked my socks off!  They also have a nice beer list which is always a plus for me as I love my imported & craft beers.

The place itself isnt very big, but is nice inside. They have TVs at the bar for your sports watching pleasure and nice plush seating in the corners of the place, but most of the seating here are wooden booths. Good place to come and watch a game and enjoy good burgers & beer!

To some people who complain about the service at this place keep in mind that very kind but lackadaisical hipsters will likely wait on you. Thus you should be accommodating to their ways and culture.

Great drinks and beer on tap and the burgers are very creative and tasty. I'm a fan!

The place is on the smallish side. Therefore I wouldn't recommend coming here with a huge group of people though.

If Duke's were the only place in town like this, it might be easier to love. But it isn't the only place, in this neighborhood or in this city, that is nailing the burger trend right now.

I came here courtesy of my groupon friend (we all have one) with a group of people, and after a bit of a wait got ourselves a table in the back. The burgers were good, slightly undercooked but with enough flavor. They weren't phenomenal, which for some reason I assumed they would be. Waffle fries were really not seasoned enough, which is the same problem Chik Fil A has (why don't waffle fries ever have enough salt? Am I broken?). Fried green beans were pretty good, though. The beer selection is fine, but there's nothing groundbreaking on it... solid burger-beers. It can get pretty dark in here near the end of the night. Nice summer evening spot. With the groupon, not an offensively high tab either.

There's nothing wrong with it by any means. But the thing is, if you go a few stops south on the brown line to Armitage, you hit the fabulous DIY Butcher & The Burger that will let you mix your meat with onion soup mix and serve it on a grilled pretzel roll. Go into River North and you've got bordello/burger bar hybrid 25 Degrees and their alcoholic milkshakes and garage door windows. Head uptown and there's Rocks, with the best fried mac and cheese in north Chicago and half price beer. And on and on. It's just a hot meaty market that everyone wants to own these days, and so many people are doing it so well right now. There's just really nothing super innovative that makes this jump out when I want a giant slab of ground meat.

Suddenly there were like 3 groupons available for burger joints, and I ended up picking Duke's.  We showed up here for an early dinner, but wait time was still around 20 minutes.  Not too bad, because we snagged seats on a bench by the front.  Eventually we were seated way in the back in a booth separated from the rest of the restaurant by a wall with a big window cut out.  Seating seems to be pretty limited.

Portions are large; so large that they are served on a tray almost cafeteria-style.  All the burgers come with a side off fries, waffle fries, onion rings, tater tots, fried green beans or salad.  Clearly my friends and I weren't going to get salad, but we each wanted to try something different.  Along with my Cheese Lovers burger I got a mound of fried green beans.  The burger was cheesy as it should be, and the green beans were surprisingly good.  I also nibbled at my friends' waffle fries and tater tots.  Most of the burgers are reasonably priced around $10, but if you want to go all out get the Duke.  $100 for a burger. Totally ridiculous.

Their beer menu is pretty good.  There were at least five beers I was deciding between, and I ended up getting a Gumball Head.

As the sun set, it got really dim in here.  Mood lighting to go along with the sleek decor I guess. My experience here was good, but I'm not clamoring to go back.  The burgers were good, the beer was good, but nothing stood out that much.

    My neighborhood hang out.

It's a fun, friendly place that has decent priced drinks and munchies.  There's nothing great about the food, but the mixed drinks are actually pretty cool.  I tend to get the "Black Cow" and sit at the bar, but there's different options if you have a groups.

I try to come here with my friends during the weekdays because the weekends are ridiculously packed.  Definitely a nice place to bring friends, but not really a "date" atmosphere.  There's a hidden DJ booth that is overlooking the seating area, and I wouldn't have really noticed it until a server pointed it out for me.

Bathrooms is only 1 person at a time which is kinda inconvenient considering it does get really busy on the weekends.  On the weekdays (like Wednesday), it's a nice to just relax and have a good conversation with the staff.

    This place is pretty good.

Place is really small so hard to find seats at times.

    Service is fine.

Menu is pretty cool with all the diff choices and i like that they are alll in relatively the same price range so you can get something crazier at a lower cost barrier
Except that crazy $100 burger with the 23k gold leaf!!

Fried mac and cheese was good but a little bit too rich. Maybe a good salad or some tomatoes would've given it a better balance. Mac attack burger was good too but there wasn't any significant difference with a regular patty and a American Kobe patty sadly.

Drinks are good and large with great amount of alcohol and creativity.

I've been here twice - once for just dinner, once for just drinks.

For dinner this place is a burger haven.  They have exotic meats like ostrich and buffalo, but also nice veggie patties and fish.  I had a salad as my side which was colorful and tasty.  My boyfriend had tater tots as his side.  There were enough tater tots to feed a family - 50 to 60 at least.  Yes, very large portion sizes.

They also have a large beer list and plenty of diet coke!

For drinks we went in the summer.  The windows were open and it was a good enough place for a hot August night.  I suppose by the time we got there we were already quite drunk though.

This place is also close to the Wiener's Circle, a staple of many drunks, so we'll be back I'm sure.

There are pro's and cons to Duke's, let me lay them out.

    Pro's:
    - Great atmosphere/ambiance! Immediately when walking into duke's I felt like I was in a cozy lodge apres ski. Especially with the lights still up (from Christmas?) romantic and cozy.
    - Decent burger. I split the mushroom/swiss (like it sounds) and the Baja burger (l, t, o, monterey jack, bacon, avocado) with my main squeeze. I wasn't overly impressed by the Baja (surprisingly, that would usually be right up my alley) it seemed to be missing something, a kick? The Mushroom/Swiss was really great and had a really nice sauce.

    Cons:
    - Tiny sign, we missed it twice walking down Clark.
    - Long wait. People seemed to be camped out at the booths enjoying drinks as we waited FOREVER for a table to...eat. So to turn a negative to a positive, Duke's would probably be ideal to grab a drink or two and catch up.
    - Spacy and forgetful waitress. She seemed to be doubling up behind the bar....felt like she forgot completely about us a couple times. Especially after the long wait, I was not so pleased.
    - Lackluster waffle fries. They rave about these things.....I grew up with Chick-fil-a in the south and after trying these it only made me want to hit up Chick-fil-a's water tower location to get my fix.

Overall I liked Dukes. Was a blown away? Meh...not really but I'd definitely go back at some point. Apres ski :)

Quick, send out a scout to confirm that the Shawnee National Forest is still intact and standing.  The interior of Duke's contains so much wood that it rivals The Pony for forest destruction.  I'm rather surprised to not see Yelpers railing on this place in reviews or picketing outside its doors on this issue.  You know how Yelpers are.

Anyway, Duke's is burgers, fries and beer.  Pound sand if you want anything else.

    The beer list?  Good.

The burger?  It was a bit undercooked, but it was still decent.  And it came with a forest of fries.

The rest?  Duke's has TVs showing sports, large booths and some couches in a lounge type area.  It can be cozy on the right night.  In a pinch, it's an okay option for a burger, but there are better casual options within 10 minutes of Duke's if you have the time and inclination.

The only question remaining is: why in the world are the booth benches so far back from the tables?

    Tree and a half stars.

Despite the fact that I really don't care for the neighborhood around it (Only because it's a traffic nightmare), Duke's is a solid place to do some drinking, eating, or a combination of both. It's a pretty neat place with some good, unpretentious food and a beer list that can rival most of the places nearby.

I really like the menu style where there are elaborate well-thought out burger recipes that you can pick your meat patty for, including some gamier options like Ostrich. Waffle fries have a special place in my heart, and Duke's waffle fries satisfy me wholeheartedly.

I've been there twice so far, and both times I've had the same awesome waitress (Lauren), and both times she's been on the ball. I can appreciate a waitress who understands the fact that a near-empty glass means I'm probably going to want a refill or the check. I'm glad we had her too because it seemed as though the guys behind the bar were too lazy to do much of anything.

All this positive. Very little negative. They have been out of my first two choices of beer both times I've been there. I don't think that's detrimental, since I was able to find a beer I could enjoy both times.

I could go either way on the plexiglass mooses (You have to see them).

Yep. We've definitely been going places. In the time since I first wrote my review, I have become a regular. I never veer from my usual (turkey burger with onion rings) and I opt to get my food to go (as the place has gotten uncomfortably crowded/busy; I attribute it to my review).

But, don't think me a bore. Even though I stick with turkey, I don't stick with the same burger. Ahh... now you get me. I'll always have a soft spot for the Chili Burger but the Buffalo with bleu cheese, Greek (olives! Who knew?), Bacon Cheddar (duh) and Cajun (has a kick!) burgers are all pleasant surprises. I would stay away from the Baja. I got very little avocado on my burger and even less bacon. I have a few others I need to try, but I think it's safe to assume I'll always be a fan.

The missing star is blamed on the increased cost. For the past nine months or so, Duke's and I had a system. I called. I ordered. I walked in. I gave 'em $10. I walked out. Upon my latest visit, that routine was busted up by the increased cost of $.99. My routine has been upset! Duke's I won't stop loving you, but I'm not gonna put a ring on it and tell everyone we're exclusive. Don't go high rent on me.

Dukes. I have been here a number of times, and only on this recent visit did we have pretty terrible service. I blame it on Groupon! Staff was absent to check in with when we arrived to get on the wait list, no offer of a beer in the waiting area (for 25 minutes), messed up check, scattered if not terrible service, some dbag group walked in the door while we were waiting and swooped in on our empty booth...because there was no staff to be seen. Guess you can't really blame them. Bartenders and staff breaking glasses left and right. It was kind of a shit show.

HOWEVER, in Duke's defense, I have dined here 3 times prior and service was pretty great. Burgers are pretty great (except they only cook to medium which I dislike, but some people don't mind...). Beer list is pretty great. Say what you will say about LP (oh, and I have already said it in many other reviews), this place is pretty chill, and consistently turns out solid food.  The turkey burger is REALLY good. I usually get the baja turkey burger (ask for mayo or something - it comes sans condiments;  I think the avocado is supposed to play that role but I likey more saucy) and the chippers, and that's only $10. Mmm, chippers.  Thursdays (?) they have a great microbrew deal.

Hopefully management ramps up the staff, because I predict they will soon be getting a multitude of terrible reviews until the Groupon-flood subsides. If this past visit was my first time there, I probably wouldn't return...

    Aww yeah Duke's!

You have Half Acre Gossamer cans and you serve up a mean bison Cajun burger.  You let me add applewood bacon and jalapenos w/o hassle and you serve all that w/ some of the crispiest tots I've had in Chicago.

I like what you've done to the place.  I really like the wood cabin-esque feel in an area surrounded by 7-11, McDonalds and that hot dog place where you're not supposed to order a chocolate milk shake but you do anyway.  It's a stark contrast I can get behind.

You did a great job putting nice TVs here for sports viewing and there are ample, comfortable seating for lounging needs.  Many places can't combine all these utilities into one place but you managed to do it w/o a hint of pretentiousness.

    Approved.

After hearing how great the burgers here are, I decided to bring my BFF who is in town visiting here tonight for dinner.

We walked in, and just the vibe of this place warmed us up right away from the bitter cold outside.  We were immediately greeted and sat in a booth.  Duke's is not very big - maybe 5 or 6 booths, and then a big seating area towards the back in addition to seats at the bar.  But the walls are this knotted wood, and with the lighting it just feels very warm in here...  and a little sexy.  Like you want to crawl under a blanket with your dinner date and share a burger.  Sounds good to me.

So, they have waffle fries.  How awesome is that?  When the server listed this as one of the options (in addition to tater tots!), my friend and I both looked at each other with our eyes lit up.  Unfortunately we both wimped out and stuck with normal fries.

They don't carry Stoli.  Sigh.  They actually don't have a great selection of vodka, and this saddens me.  So I went with Grey Goose, and I will say that my drink was poured very generously.  Yay for that.

The food came out fairly quickly, and when I cut my burger in half I realized the server never asked us how we wanted them cooked.  Mine was a little more pink than I like, but it was still good.  And HUGE.  The fries were eh.  Very greasy.  They *looked* good, but kind of fell short.  And there were a TON of them.  Seriously - Duke's gives you a lot of food.

Service was fine.  There only appeared to be two guys working the front, and they were on top of everything.

The bill was super cheap - for the two of us eating burgers and my cocktail, the bill was only $27.  Not bad at all.

Overall, I was pleased with my experience here and would come back, but I would make sure I told them how I wanted my burger cooked.  And perhaps next time I'll have to give those waffle fries a try...

I've probably passed by this place a hundred times on my way into LP from LV, and I finally went there this past Sunday after being invited by some friends. The decor is definitely swank, if a little dim for my tastes. The menu was admittedly impressive, if a little expensive.

Now, I'd like to talk about the burgers for a minute. Specifically, one burger. Duke's has a burger called the Surf and Turf; it's a 6oz lobster tail on top of a 1/2 lb. Angus beef patty. When it was finally time to order, one of the other guys I was with remarked that he was thinking of getting one, just so he could say he could. What makes this funny is that myself and one of the other guys I was with were thinking the same thing. I didn't get it, but the mere idea of that burger still haunts me to this day. It is in the running for a possible birthday meal.

Anyway, I got the Bacon Cheddar burger. The first time I go to a place, I always like to do something simple, because there's statistically less chance of them fucking it up, and if they can't get the simple stuff right, then they sure as hell can't get the other stuff right either. To make a long story short, my burger was delicious. It was big, tasty, and perfectly cooked.

The side deserves a mention of it's own. There's an option inbetween fries, onion rings, and crisps. The onion rings were delicious, and the fries were awesome as well. I think next time I'll try the crisps. And there will be a next time.

So, why only four stars instead of five? Honestly, it's still a burger joint, and it's just a little too expensive, even for great burgers. But that's my opinion, and I'd still go here again, even if it's a little expensive.

Update: Went again, got the Bacon Cheddar Burger, and crisps. That's some good shit. At some point, I'd like to get their mini burgers and try a bunch of different ones to see how good they are.

Oh my God, I think I found a little bit of Heaven...in a burger.

On a rainy Saturday evening, a group of us decided we were all quite hungry. After debating what cuisine we were craving we decided we wanted some good ol' fashioned bar food-greasy, but oh so satisfying. We decided to go to this little place called "Duke's" after hearing much about their burgers.

I myself am not much of a burger girl, but thought "What the hell. I'll just get some buffalo wings or something". After seeing the extensive options of toppings and meat I knew I had to get a burger. I got the baja turkey burger (at the suggestion of our way too excited waiter) & it was absolutely delicious. The turkey patty was seasoned & cooked to perfection, while the bacon & avocado were the perfect, complimentary toppings. By the way, I got half an avocado on top of the burger which only made me love Duke's that much more. Also, the waffle fries were so tasty! They had parsley sprinkled on top with just the right amount salt & the perfect crispy-ness.

There are so many different options here that I think I could go here numerous times & never get bored. They had burgers ranging from the "Cheese Lover" with all sorts of cheeses on top to the "Popeye", which was sauteed spinach & feta to the "Garbage", which had almost everything on it including the yummy waffle fries. Nothing I ate was an after thought & I finished almost everything on my plate.

If you want to see a small girl devour a big burger meet me at Duke's & don't forget to wear your stretchy pants :)

I was craving cow pretty bad the other day, and yelp advised me to try the nearby "Duke's."  The dcor was really impressive- swanky and clean, yet rustic.  There were a few dressed up trixies, but we were casual and fit right in.

It wasn't crazy crowded on a Wednesday evening, but only one guy (the friendly Jason) was serving all the tables and tending the bar all alone.  He did an amazing job!

The burger menu was creative and interesting, but I went with the old classic bacon and cheddar.  My boy got the breakfast burger with buffalo meat and a fried egg- oh MAN, both were terrific!  You can order any burger with your choice of patty: turkey, veggie, buffalo, chicken, etc.  The fries and HUGE onion rings were pretty crave-worthy too.

I had a great time, and have to say that yep... this is my favorite burger spot so far in the city! MMMMmmmmmMMMmm, bout time!

Place is cool man. Fer realz. It's right next to Wiener's Circle's and McDonald's so if you don't want the bar food, you can either get a hot dog and cheez friez and get called "a fat muthafucka" (I am speaking from experience) or you can get a flame broiled ground beef patty with traces of excrement and some non-cheese-covered fries at McDonalds! (I am speaking from experience)

Anyhoo, I'll try to be less annoying for the remainder of this review. I didn't eat anything at Duke's, but it was a quiet Thursday night, so we got our swerve on. The bartender made my slightly-dirty martini perfectly complete with some really good olives that didn't taste like your typical Spanish olives and brought it over to the table despite the lack of waitstaff. Yeah, I probably should have been less douchy and just gone to the bar and ordered there and brought it back to the table, but he was johnny on the spot and approached us before we'd removed our jackets. He also kept an eye on our drinks from afar and returned just when it was time to replenish our hooch. He was even cool with me doing cartwheels and some mild breakdancing.

The interior of this place is surprisingly nice. This is not Raven's or Frank's. The music was good. They have one person bathrooms which are nice for when you have to make doodie at the bar. Oh yeah, and martinis were $9, which is definitely a fair price nowadays.

I think this place has so much potential!  The food menu has over twenty cheeseburgers.  They are somewhat pricey, but they are creative and very tasty.  You can actually get a surf and turf cheeseburger for about 30 bucks.

I don't think they have many drink specials, which might turn a few people away, because their drinks were not cheap.  The layout of the place is very cool and the music is great.  If people actually knew this place existed then it would make for a real fun place.

This place is awesome. I had walked past Duke's many times without even noticing it, but when I was waiting for my girlfriend last week, I was bored and glanced at the menu in the window. I was immediately taken in by the best martini names ever. How can you not order a drink named Correctomundo?

Then I saw the unique and creative burger selections. They all looked so good. I wanted to try them all. Then, at the bottom of the menu.... mini burger sampler, so I can do just that? Holy crap! I got really excited and convinced my girl that we needed to go in.

We were seated and gazed around at the swanky but not pretentious decor, complete with wooden walls, mirrors, and candles. The server (bartender) was really fun and cool, he kept bringing me these funny named martinis as fast as I could drink them. By the way, these are the only martinis in town that are actually worth $9.

The mini-burgers were excellent, it was like a culinary tour of the world through small beef and bun combos! I really shouldnt have drank so much, but it was way worth it. I can't wait to go back.
