I was here with 4 other girls to rent two lanes for two hours and we were able to use 4 groupons, which was great, considering all the multiple use restrictions they have on these. It came out to like 4 bucks each!

But you also get what you pay for and sometimes, that's ok. When it comes to places like these, the experience is what you make of it and we are fun girls, so we still had fun. But as a bowling alley, I will probably not be back.

We got there early to grab some dinner and the food was pretty bad- overfried skimpy chicken tenders on a bun and mediocre fries. But it's a bowling alley, so I wasn't expecting gourmet. The alley is old school, so we fortunately had someone who knew how to score and was willing to do it. The pin machine things are pretty creaky as well, so we often had to reset the pins because they wouldn't pick up or lay down or whatever. Maybe I'm spoiled with modern technology and all that, but even a vintage scene can have good maintenance to retain that ambience without losing on service.

Like I said, your experience is what you make of it, and we still had a great time, but it came with little help from the actual venue.

I used a Groupon (It was bowling up to 4 with shoe rental for an hour for 10 or 15 bucks) which I'm glad I found otherwise $35-$40 an hour to bowl? Damn, Chicago is expensive. Moving forward, I know a lot of people say "it's a dump", it's old school as hell.

The lanes are not fancy, neither are the shoes, or the balls. There is no electronic keeper of scores, you do that yourself. I think it's nice, unlike some bowling lanes where you can't hear yourself think, the music is blasting, you can't bowl because you're blinded by the light, etc. This place is not like that. If you like old school or you come in here expecting old school you will not be disappointed.

Yeah the staff was fine, I don't expect A+ service from a bowling alley. The server kept asking us if we wanted drinks or food (We made dinner plans so no to both) often and they were pretty cool about letting us go over a few minutes to finish our game.

The couches are nice and really make it seem social as opposed to those awful plastic seats most places have. I would come back here with a groupon, I wouldn't pay that much to bowl per hour anywhere unless my favorite wrestler was signing autographs and there was free food, that is all besides the point.

What a dump. Unfriendly staff. Terrible customer service. Mediocre drinks and food.

Hey Yelp, I'm still waiting for a "no stars" option. Because this place doesn't deserve even one.
