I am not from this area and tried this place thanks to yelp. I had filet and can honestly say I was pretty impressed. Not a bad place for dinner at all. I'd go again. The baked patatoes are huge! Very filling. Definitely better tasting than expected!

To find the words to describe what had to have been one of the best meals I've had in the area for sometime.

Sure, there were a few negatives - lets get those out of the way.  The lighting was great when we walked in, but was dimmed not just to an "ambiance" level, but to a point where it was almost difficult to see other in our party.  We were sat at a table that was much to small for our party of seven (7), 3 of them rather big men, and one two of the older ones movement impaired.  So, that cost a star.

But the food and service - that was spot on.

I think at least half of our party had the Prime Rib.  And did nothing but RAVE about it.  I sampled it, and I admit - it was incredible.  Especially considering it was an "early bird" special.  I usually don't like PR due to all the reasons other love it.  To much "fat" for me.  But this, was done well.  Still rich, but so tasty. And cuttable with a butter knife.

There were a few other dishes, and I had the Filet and Shrimp - there is a "name" that I regret I've forgotten.  The Shrimp were a decadance.  Stuffed with seafood, and wrapped in Bacon.  There were six larges ones, enough for myself, and to share around for samples.

My filet was cooked perfectly, from edge to edge.  And was a mouth numbing delight to eat.  For moments I totally did not hear what was going on around me as I was taken away on a wave of flavor and sensation as I ate.

Do not just skip the bread that comes to the table.  Another thing stolen from a table inhabited by angels.  A taste treat.

Our Server, despite placement - was on the ball.  keeping things filled up, checking with everyone and even managing to get the non-desert eating table to consume a few, despite the far to full tummies.   She was attentive, without being pushy.

I'll be returning again - and perhaps, the next time we'll be upgrading to 5 stars.

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel concierge. Food was satisfactory, but not great. Steak was dry. No options for entree salads, and looks of complete confusion when we asked for seafood placed on top of a bed of greens with dressing on the side. Waitstaff was odd, and a bit difficult to communicate with. While the food was being delivered, another waitress was liberally spraying disinfectant on the tables immediately adjacent to ours. The smell of disinfectant was overpowering, and clearly misting on the food. Waitstaff was completely unaware...

    Overall, unimpressive. Will never return.

My visit on Mother's Day couldn't have been better.  The food was excellent (order the King and I w/prime rib instead of filet); the service was fabulous; seating was prompt and I had a wonderful time.

I cannot rave enough about Erin Pub. The prices are great, the portions are MASSIVE,  and the food is phenomenal. I recommend the chicken Oscar or the stuffed lobster tail. The crab cocktail is a huge plate of crab with cocktail sauce.Yum! I had the wings for lunch once, and they were done perfectly. Nice and crispy with delicious buffalo sauce. All in all,  you have to check this place out, even if it's a bit of a hike for you. Just come early if you don't want to wait too long for a seat.

I absolutely would NEVER turn down an offer to go to the Erin's Pub.  This is has been such a family hot spot for me ever since I was a child.  So many nice memories here and it just so happens the food is great as well.

I have never strayed far from the broiled seafood and stuffed shrimp.  Being half italian and very snobby about my italian food, I have never attempted to order their chicken parm.  Although, my brothers and all italian father think it's delicious.

I love the sides they offer.  Their croutons on their salad are so addicting.  I don't know what they do to them, but I just love them.  Their side of spinach is delcious. I am not a coleslaw lover but my family says its one of the best.

the portions are very good. I never leave hungry.  If you go here on a weekend, I suggest you make a reservation.

Even thought its always busy, I never felt like I have waited long for the food to reach the table.  Such great service here.

Over the years, I have enjoyed Erin Pub, but sadly our Anniversary Lunch fell short.  I ordered the Broiled Lobster special, and my husband Stuffed Flounder.  The first tell tale sign was our salad coming out with the dressing overflowing in the little cup, and splattered on the salad plate.  No big deal, but then we waited for a long time between the salad and the meal, and the restaurant was practically empty.  The waitress finally brings out the food, and it was cold as if it had been sitting in the kitchen for awhile.  The flavors were bland, the stuffing inside the flounder was mushy, and the vegetables were overcooked.  I find it hard to comment on a place I always new I could count on for a good meal and with great prices too.  I hope this was just a fluke, but it sure put a damper on the celebration.  I don't see myself giving them a second chance right now.  Tina'sTwoSense!

I booked a baby shower for my daughter on Jan. 8th. The party was to be held on Feb. 24th. I was told at the time that there was a party in the largest room. I had 42 and was told we would be seated in room near the bar. I was instructed to call a week before to let them know the final count. I called 2 weeks before and told them it was 38 people. At that time I asked if they usually set the tables up in a certain way (know the number of tables) & that I was told I we would be in room off of the bar. My question went unanswered & I was told that there was no guarantee to any room. Huh??? I didn't question this I guess because I thought it would depend on the final count of all the parties before people were placed. The day before the shower I was called by Erin Pub to confirm my party. I called back and talked to a man & I said yes and it is still 38 & I called you two weeks ago and told you. At that time I asked what room we would be in because of what was said when I called the 2 weeks prior. I was told the upstairs. I said really? Yes definitely the upstairs. I asked do you need my name? No I know exactly who you are (kinda rude). End of conversation. I was happy giving high fives to my husband thinking that we would be in the big room and that perhaps the other party went somewhere else. I never dreamed he meant the tiny room upstairs. I didn't know that that room was even designated for parties. At no time when I booked party was that room ever mentioned. If it was & they knew my party was for 38 (originally 42) would have said no way & found another location.

We arrive day of party and are led to the smallest room in the building and the waitress then pointed to a 1' X 1' square table in the corner and was told that's where we can put our gifts. Wow do they know the size of these gifts? There were 3 long tables set up as close to the wall as possible. I say 3 because there was a split in the tables because of a doorway that led to another room. They were set up like the workhouse in Oliver Twist. There was barely enough room to pass someone in the middle of the room if you needed to get up and move. We bumped about trying to decorate. The cake was placed on another small table in the opposite corner that was designsted for the drinks. The waitress said that the cake must be moved. To where???? The floor? I then made the comment of the reason I had my party at their establishment was so that people could have room & that I could have done this at home if I was going to be packed in like a can of sardines. My living room is bigger than this room. I was then told by the waitress that they booked another party (after mine) of people that were handicapped & they needed to be in the lower room. Really?? I can understand why they would need to be down there but I booked my party on Jan 8! More people arrived and stood in the middle of the room in awe like they were waiting for a bus. Probably because they couldn't back out. Now they are saying there isn't enough seats. I go to see about finding a manager about the situation. That's when my daughter and her husband walked in and saw me. Surprise! wth

I was told by the waitress that there were 36 place settings in this room. I had 38 people. There was no room for people at table near the guests. I guess about 10 - 12 people just sat in the other room for there own comfort. Nothing like throwing a party in two different rooms. I was later told by the manager that the room was for 40. Well they must be going by the rule of measurements of how many clowns you can fit into a Volkswagen! It was humiliating to have to explain to all my guests why they were jammed in so tight. I should have never been put in a situation where I had to explain anything or tell them I was sorry when they left. I'm not sure what type of handicaps the people in the lower room had but there wasn't a walker cane or wheel chair to be seen. They were old and maybe 15-20 of them in the whole room. I am not blaming them in anyway. Just giving a visual.

As far as the food goes. I had the stuffed flounder and it was so dry and hard on the top that it was hard to even cut with a knife. My sister and friend near me said the same. The salad was swimming in french dressing. I don't know how the chicken parmesan or the prime rib was because once I was in the chair it was hard to get up to move about the room to talk with anyone.

It's a hard pill to swallow when a place that I loved for decades would leave me feeling so aggravated & feeling screwed over. It  was absolutely thoughtless. I would have liked to think that my comfort as well as my guests & pregnant lady would mean more than just packing them in & having them pay the bill. I got the attitude of we screwed up & now you can deal with it. Shame on you.

You can't beat it been going here since i was a kid. Its an old school delco legend. Giant portions for great prices, I'm not a big seafood guy and that seems to be there main fare, but there Prime Rib is tremendous, and you get close to 2lbs of it for the price of a 10oz portion you'd get in the city. The Erin chicken is also great. Nice atmosphere, friendly faces, theres always one or two servers you might hope you don't get but if you find one you really like just ask the hostess before she seats you if that person is available, get a good relationship with a server and you'll never have a bad meal

I have been going to the Erin Pub for years went on NYE, and I have to say the meal was horrible. My lobster was actually bad. My daughter ordered the crab legs clearly they were frozen and they were cold to boot. The string beans were either can or frozen they were hot on top and cold on the bottom. It isn't the first bad meal I have had there but I keep giving them another chance. I honestly have to say I will never go back to the Erin Pub. It is sad how the food has gotten so bad.

I've been going to the Erin Pub for years.  I don't get the bad reviews.  I guess I've been lucky and have never gone on an off night.  Was there again last night and it was spot on, per usual.  Here are my top 3 choices for newbies... You can't go wrong with their prime rib, it's gotta be the best in the area and it's freakin huge - literally looks like a Fred Flintstone dish - people will stare!!! Their chicken parm with a side of pasta is another great choice, their sauce is kick a**  and they should bottle and sell it and my ultimate favorite... The King and I = 2 king crab legs and a filet.  How can you beat $23.00 for a king crab and filet dinner??  The staff is always friendly and I love it there.  I moved over 30 miles away and honestly it's worth the trip for me.

Last night will be my last night of going to this place. All the good from my last visit went out the window. Here is the rule of greatness: HOW A RESTAURANT PERFORMS WHEN THEY ARE BUSY! Give Erin an FFFFF. Our waitress was horrible. Asked for water. Ignore till I asked 3 more times.Wanted another drink - she was no where around. She hardly stopped by - too many tables? Incompetence? Dont know . Food was fair at best. My broiled lobster had no taste at all - crunchy too. Lady friend had combo scallops and flounder was ok she said. Waitress took forever to get her tartar sauce. Table next to us asked for well done lamb - it was delivered raw. Disappointed to say the least.

We had reservations for 4pm on Saturday. There were 16 of us in all and they made us wait until everyone was there before sitting us. I guess if that's the "policy" than whatever, but you'd think the table for 16 will be cleared for at least 1/2 an hour before the reservation even starts, so it irked me a little that we had to wait in the relatively small waiting area with my fiance's elderly grandparents.

I thought the decor was...interesting. The dark-stained tables and dividers were really beautiful, but the light fixtures looked like they came from IKEA. I love me some IKEA, but it didn't really fit. I expected something a little more rustic, I guess.  The decor doesn't take away from the overall experience, I just thought I'd share.

Once we sat down, our waitress was friendly and mostly attentive. I had to remind her to bring my second round, but I'll give her a break since it was a large party. The food was exceptional. The onion rings were SOOO good. I got the mussels over linguini with red sauce. It was the first time I'd ever ordered mussels at a restaurant and they were freakin' delicious. Plus, the portion was HUGE. I considered ordering a 1/2 portion, but I was afraid there wouldn't be many mussels to begin with. WRONG. I think we estimated somewhere between 35 and 40 of them on my plate. In hindsight, I wish I would have counted or taken a picture, but I was so excited, as soon as the food came I started shoveling. The red sauce was really tasty, too. Perfectly seasoned with a hint of spice.

Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. The only thing I didn't really like were the deep fried croutons on the side salads. I found them to be really oily and gross.

Just writing this review is making my stomach growl. Mmm!

Been here a few times with the family - not my choice at all.

My dad loves the fried scallops.

Chicken parm portion is huge but who cares it's just ok  - super thick is not better.  I think it's much better at Olive Garden.

Prime rib pretty good and it's a large chunk of meat.  Garlic mashed was really good.  Fries good.

Salad does seem to have deep fried croutons - I kinda liked them.

Atmosphere is dark, dingy and loud.  Service always seems nice and fast.

rubber lobster.. over cooked crab imperial.. only good thing was our waiter Matt who was so wonderful.  prices are cheap but I'd rather pay more and get a good meal.. I'm spoiled by the restaurants in the city and south philadelphia.. can't believe that people actually wait in line to get a table.. I have to find a GOOD restaurant in delaware county .

This review has bin along time coming.  I have had two really bad experiences a long time ago here and figured I would not yelp them do to the fact that a ton of people i know  go here and they re-did the place. I have not eaten here in years so I let the past rest. And was looking forward to a better experience

Well one of them ton of people wanted to go here for dinner tonight early bird special. lets start with the positive.  Christine our server was great excellent service. Very attentive thank you.

The service is the only reason 3 stars appear here.
    Ok food and drinks
sweet tea vodka, water, splash of cranberry  was spot of perfect.

House salad -vegetables where fresh, dressing b/v was horrible to watery and beats had no flavor. Now to drenched in oil socked till they are dripping croutons. Really I think they where deep fried " wts".

for my main dish I ordered a combo.  Filet and orange roughy.
ordered slit pink. Meat was dry over cooked and bland. the fish I did not even take to bits.  I think they cooked the cardboard that the fish came in by accident.  Very bad. I was very freezer burnt. Mashed potatoes where served cold on outside warm in middle.  Can u nuke! !

My friend always gets the prime rib. I guess thats the safe bet here. He was happy with his meal.

It will be years again before I go back.

I think the people that like this place have bin coming here as a child with there parents or have not experienced food outside there neighborhood and don't know any better.

As I often say about restaurants in my part of Delaware County, you really have to grade them on a curve.  What is seen as fine dining in these parts wouldn't cut it in Center City.  It's just a fact of life when you live south of Baltimore Pike.  So there is "Southern Delco good" and "Center City good".

This place, it's really good for Delco.  It would probably fall into the OK category in Center City.  Now, the details.

I hadn't been here for a very long time.  Not for any real reason per say.  I just hadn't bothered coming here.  But after a recent spin with the Yelp monocle on my iPhone from Mac Dade Blvd just for kicks, I saw the Erin Pub come up.  I decided to drag the wife there on Friday night.

It's been around for over 30 years, so it has to have something going for it, right?  I mean, everyone who grew up in my area has either gone to the Erin Pub for their birthday or for someone else's birthday.  So it has history on its side.

Lately, I have been ordering broiled seafood combinations at a lot of places.  It seems to me to be a good measuring stick for the worthiness of a restaurant.  You get to taste a lot of things at once, it doesn't fill you up as terribly as other items, and a restaurant that does seafood well will probably do other things well.  That's my theory at least.

So how did this stack up?  You get 5 different items... scallops, a mini lobster tail, flounder, a king crab leg, and shrimp.  Well, you only get one shrimp.  I had an issue with that.  If you are going to include something like that on a combo plate, you should get more than one shrimp.  Two would have even been passable.  It made the kitchen look cheap in my eyes.

Flavor-wise, the scallops were the best part, with the crab leg a close second.  I'm sure the shrimp would have been up there if I had more than one.  The flounder was bland.  The lobster tail was tough and rubbery.  I mean, I know I'm not getting Maine lobster here.  The rolls and baked potato made it all better for me though.  And, even the classy Southern Delco joints still consider applesauce a vegetable choice.  Gotta love that.

So the meal had some good things, and not as good things.  Seafood is hit or miss.  So why am I bumping it up to 4 stars?  Well, first of all it's because I can't give 3 1/2.  Secondly, they won points because the wife had a chicken, spinach, and peppers sandwich that was quite tasty.  And I kept stealing the steak fries off of her plate, they were so good.  So this place does do some things well.  I'd definitely recommend it if you were looking for a sandwich and a cold beer.

And I didn't hate my meal.  I just lowered my expectations to Southern Delco level.  If I had gotten that rubbery lobster tail in Center City, I'd have blasted the place.  Oh, one more thing Erin Pub... for 20 bucks an entree, would it kill you guys to throw in a salad with the meal?  I got rolls and the main course.  No salad is bush league.

But hey, I can't be to hard on a Southern Delco institution like this.

I've tried this place a few times for both lunch and dinner.  The bar would be promising if it weren't SO LOUD (TVs).  Crab cake sandwich is okay, nothing else impressed me.

    I seriously love this place.

The restaurant is unassuming and off of a busy street by a train station. To me, it kind of looks like a dive bar from the outside, but that is all part of what I love about this place.

I go here all the time- for the past several years- and I can say I have never had a bad experience. I rarely switch up from four things- Broiled seafood combo, Prime rib, lobster tail and lamb. I have never had a bad meal here, and everyone I bring loves their meals and has gone back.

The service is usually excellent- there are one or two waitresses you pray you don't get when you go in, but everyone else is great and very friendly.

Prices and portions here are INSANE. You get so much delicious money for so little coin. I can come here for lunch get a salad (with beets!) baked potato, and prime rib for what it would cost me to eat at Qdoba or Chipotle.  It really is a no brainer when you think about it.

This place is old school, and I like that. how old school you ask? I am pretty sure that all the waitresses- no dudes waiting tables here- have been here for years or have made this their career. And, at 24, I am usually the youngest person in there by far every time. As in, the rest of the diners are old enough to be my grandparents- especially if you go at lunch or early bird. Old people love the crap out of early bird.

There are only two downsides with this place that I have. One, they changed their decor a few years ago to make it look more modern. Not down with that. I like my dive bars divey. Plus the modern lighting looks weird in a pub. The closer the place looks like it hasn't been touched since the 70's and that it could burn down or give you tetanus at any second, the better.

Th second is the no free refills on soda thing. As far as I can tell, this is an arbitrary thing that some people enforce.  I like to drink, and no matter what it is, i am usually getting 3-4 of them. If it happens to be a soft drink, I could add 6-8 bucks on my bill.  But here is the thing- I never know when it is going to happen. Sometimes I get charged 2 bucks for the first then nothing. Sometimes is 2 bucks then 1 for the second, and sometimes its just 2 all around.  This usually makes me pretty angry since it doesn't seem to be a rule (or one that is enforced) or something that makes much sense- i mean, who does that today? When it is done arbitrarily from waitress to waitress, I just assume that the ones that charge are doing so to pad the bill to get a bigger tip- so I take the cost of a refill out. D- move, I know. But it is the principle!

But overall this place is amazing. The food is great, the people are old, and the prices on everything is cheap. Really, why wouldn't you go there?

The reviews are right.  Staff is very friendly!  I give it a three, because border line 2!  Becuase if I go to a Irish Pub my expectation is a few Irish food items.  It doesn't have to go crazy but just one or two other than fish and chips.

Food is very good, or ordered the Prim Rib, the small one was too big!  So definitly worth going to if your in the mood for a good american meal.  The seafood sounded likt it was good, but stuck with the big old slab of beef!

Just would have liked to see some Irish food items.

The Erin Pub falls in that not-at-all imperfect category of restaurants that do double duty as Bluehair Joint (for the early bird specials) and upscale bar and grill for the later-on comers. First visit I had very spot-on wings and a good seafood combo of scallops and crabcakes. Second visit had a rack of lamb special that was probably the most succulent I've ever tasted. Also of note is the homemade mac and cheese side dish and the garlic croutons. Only negative is the beer selection--only the usual suspects. It would be outstanding if they could add a few local micros ie Victory or Yards or Dogfish.
