Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Great place for meeting up with friends for happy hour prior to kicking of your weekend shenanigans.  They have an excellent menu of items and a special called 5 for 6 until 7.  5 different food and drink items for $6 until 7:00 p.m.  I've had a good time every time I have gone and usually sit at the bar upstairs overlooking Bloomingdales.  

Great atmosphere and great vibe.  Haven't had a full dinner here yet but can't wait to.

Family of 4 dined early evening on Friday night to celebrate a birthday. Our waiter- Scott, was incredible!! He is knowledgeable and very patient. The food was delicious!! I had the lobster (and it was amazing). The Lava cake was also wonderful. The drinks (margaritas and cosmopolitans) were impeccable. Can't wait to go back again next month!! Pricey- but worth every penny!!

Such a classy place, we took our law school dean out for a wine tasting in a private room and he said it was the best dinner he had ever had with students, ever! (and he's a pretty classy guy, taught at Harvard etc...)

We were in a private room upstairs and the service we got was impeccable. This review is slightly skewed because my friend knows the general manager, but that doesn't discount the fact that the food and service were absolutely top notch.

The head chef/partner had a group of his friends and family next door, and still took the time to come and greet us and talk to us about the dishes he'd be serving us throughout the night. The wine server (he wasn't really a sommelier) was very outgoing, but not too much. He interjected in the conversation when appropriate, and wasn't awkward, overattentive, or annoying at all (I've had some pretty horrible servers in my life).

That being said, I can't give them five stars because of the service I received when NOT in private dining.  Had a booth in the bar for a friend's birthday (about a week after my private dining experience). It took our waitress about 20 minutes to take my drink order, and on top of that she was not friendly. Well, actually, we had two interchanging waitresses. Neither one of them was very nice, and every time we needed or wanted something we had to awkwardly call them over to our table. Also, it wasn't really busy at all so I have no idea why they were so inattentive. I don't think either one of them smiled the entire time, and I strongly dislike waitresses with attitude.

So overall, private dining at Flemings is where it's at. But the waitresses downstairs in the bar area need to take some happy pills. Oh yeah, and MAKE SURE TO TRY THE BARBECUE SHRIMP!
