Great place for meeting up with friends for happy hour prior to kicking of your weekend shenanigans. Â They have an excellent menu of items and a special called 5 for 6 until 7. Â 5 different food and drink items for $6 until 7:00 p.m. Â I've had a good time every time I have gone and usually sit at the bar upstairs overlooking Bloomingdales. Â
Great atmosphere and great vibe. Â Haven't had a full dinner here yet but can't wait to.
Family of 4 dined early evening on Friday night to celebrate a birthday. Our waiter- Scott, was incredible!! He is knowledgeable and very patient. The food was delicious!! I had the lobster (and it was amazing). The Lava cake was also wonderful. The drinks (margaritas and cosmopolitans) were impeccable. Can't wait to go back again next month!! Pricey- but worth every penny!!
Review Source:Such a classy place, we took our law school dean out for a wine tasting in a private room and he said it was the best dinner he had ever had with students, ever! (and he's a pretty classy guy, taught at Harvard etc...)
We were in a private room upstairs and the service we got was impeccable. This review is slightly skewed because my friend knows the general manager, but that doesn't discount the fact that the food and service were absolutely top notch.
The head chef/partner had a group of his friends and family next door, and still took the time to come and greet us and talk to us about the dishes he'd be serving us throughout the night. The wine server (he wasn't really a sommelier) was very outgoing, but not too much. He interjected in the conversation when appropriate, and wasn't awkward, overattentive, or annoying at all (I've had some pretty horrible servers in my life).
That being said, I can't give them five stars because of the service I received when NOT in private dining. Â Had a booth in the bar for a friend's birthday (about a week after my private dining experience). It took our waitress about 20 minutes to take my drink order, and on top of that she was not friendly. Well, actually, we had two interchanging waitresses. Neither one of them was very nice, and every time we needed or wanted something we had to awkwardly call them over to our table. Also, it wasn't really busy at all so I have no idea why they were so inattentive. I don't think either one of them smiled the entire time, and I strongly dislike waitresses with attitude.
So overall, private dining at Flemings is where it's at. But the waitresses downstairs in the bar area need to take some happy pills. Oh yeah, and MAKE SURE TO TRY THE BARBECUE SHRIMP!
Flemings Wine Bar is a hidden gem for those of us who work in the neighborhood and are just looking for a quiet after work place to grab a glass (or more) of wine that isn't too full of tourists. They have a great special that features five wines, five cocktails and five appetizers for $6 before 7 p.m. I am a wine girl and not a big fan of sweet drinks so I usually stay away from the cocktails, but there are some solid wine choices.
Review Source:I'm starting my review with dessert. Â THAT'S HOW GOOD IT WAS. Â I ordered the Walnut Turtle Pie that came with a side of lavender infused creme fresh. Â When I took my first bite and almost passed out with ecstasy, I saw my BF reach for his fork to see what the fuss was all about. Â Needless to say, it took every ounce of self-control not to stab his hand with my fork because this was one dish I was NOT willing to share! Â It's a good thing that I love him so much, because I put my gluttony aside. Â Every single bite was heaven. Â I don't know what else to say, except my mouth is watering as I type this because I can still taste how delicious it was.
So, how do I write about my dinner now? Â I will try and press on.
I chose the petit filet with a side of mashed potatoes. Â I was ecstatic that my steak was cooked exactly how I had asked. Â I can't stomach the idea of eating steak that is still mooing and for once, my steak was perfectly pink inside. Â The mashed potatoes were delicious and smothered in butter. Â Trust me. Â I'm not complaining. Â We also ordered a side of the Mac and Cheese, and it was creamy with a wonderful smokey flavor.
My BF had the New York Strip. Â Unfortunately, his steak was still mooing so I didn't bother having a bite. Â But he seemed to really enjoy it. Â His steak came with Flemings potatoes that were kind of like scalloped potatoes with a secret twist. Â They were FABULOUS. Â The steak also came with their secret F-17 sauce which was head and shoulders above the typical steak sauce.
The decor is like many steakhouses in the Chi. Â Dark, wood detailing, a grand bar and excellent service. Â When there are so many amazing steakhouses in the city, how do they set themselves apart? Â By the dessert of course!
can you say happy hour?
5-6-7 deal is where IT IS AT yelp-ees.
try the burger, mushroom ravioli and cedar mushroom artichoke flat bread. all for 6 bucks!? didn't think this was possible at such a high-end steakhouse.
not to mention, the happy hour drinks make you happy.
i would recommend...
PEACH SPARKLER, Svedka Vodka
STOLI BOMBSHELL, Stoli Vanil Vodka
MANHATTAN, Jim Beam Bourbon
(yes i had all three)
also for just six dollars.
we finished off with the creme brulee...
felt like i was gonna blow up at the end of the meal, but it was well worth it.
to end this ramble...here are some things to consider,
service was excellent, food was excellent, PLUS this happy hour deal is 7 days a week.
thanks for such a great experience Fleming's! we will be back!
:)
Went here for a birthday celebration last night. The wife and I were running late and we told the hostess who we were meeting. She sent us upstairs and we were escorted to the table. The waiter was a tad slow in getting our drinks. The special of the day was a real deal: appetizer, entree, a side, and choice of dessert for $44 per person. I had the filet medium rare. It was very juicy and tender the way a steak should be. The wife tried the salmon which I thought was delicious. Sides were creamed spinach or mashed potatoes (garlic, parmesan,or blue cheese). Excellent. Dessert was creme brulee, cheesecake, or walnut turtle pie. I chose the latter and it was out of sight. The atmosphere was relaxing and friendly and the service was not rushed. Valet parking is $12. Nice experience, will repeat.
Review Source:Fleming's did a pretty good job for my dad's birthday dinner this week. Â Classy "big chain restaurant" atmosphere abounds here. Â Top-40 type music was a detriment, but the steaks sure are good. Â Also, check out those potato sides! Â
Of particular note, the 5-6-7 deal looks awesome! Â $6 burgers until 7pm EVERY NIGHT? Â I'm there. Â Also $6 manhattan cocktails get the job done too. Â
No, it's not Gibson's. Â But, the steaks are solid.
This is place is for sure one of my favorite Happy Hour spots in the downtown area. While most places have limited  happy hour menus that are available for very short time slots or only a few days a week, this place has a great HH menu with 5 cocktails, 5 wines by the glass and 5 appetizers - $6 each, served at the bar until 7 PM every single day! The food selections on their menu are certainly not too shabby either and include a Sweet Chili Calamari, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Prime Burger and some others. I tried the sweet chili calamari & the prime burger when I was there. The burger was excellent! It was cooked to perfection and was bursting with flavor. It was also pretty damn big for being a happy hour selection. Calamari was excellent as well. It was not overcooked and had really good flavor that was something of an Asian sweet & sour sauce meeting Jamaican Jerk Sauce. the drink choices included a Clear Cosmo, Manhattan,  Blue Moon (2 for $6), Pinot Noir wine & a few others. I ordered the Clear Cosmo and unlike many watered down happy hour drinks, this one was pretty decent. The service at this place is excellent as well, so you are never just sitting there pondering if you ever will see your server again. Their full bar menu is very nice as well with lots of fun unique drink creations. My favorite drink from their full bar menu is "The Russian Prom Queen". If you're looking for something different & fun, i would definitely recommend this drink.
Review Source:I ordered a filet mignon, and it was delicious. As visitors from out-of-town looking for a nice place to celebrate our anniversary, this was a good choice. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but everyone in our party was very pleased with their food, and the desserts we got were equally yummy. They also had a decent wine list, and the service was excellent. I would certainly return if I was in the vicinity again.
Review Source:Curtis, one of the Operating Partners, recently got in touch hoping to remedy the disappointing calamari situation. While I won't be taking him up on his offer, I appreciate his generosity, and want to reflect his efforts in this update. I will consider returning on my own for a second chance.
Review Source:After work Happy Hour with a large group of coworkers. My first time there after hearing them rave about it. Great service (esp from Kat), incredibly potent drinks (esp from Happy Hour list) and extremely delicious appetizers. My fave was the calamari in sweet chili sauce *drool*. Â Even though the bar was packed, it never felt like we had to scream at each other in conversation. Loved the dark ambiance, dark wood, round couches and dark corner we were in. Our party occupied 2 but towards the end of the night, shared one. The staff was thoughtful and exceptional- they brought over high chairs as well as comped a couple of drinks (without being asked) when they were forgotten. I also ended up forgetting my scarf (damn potent drinks) but they found and secured it for me. Since we work around the corner, we will be coming back!
Review Source:Excellent for dinner or appetizers and a glass of wine at the bar.
I love the 5 til 6 for $7 if I just want to eat light at the bar.
In the main dining room, I order the prime ribeye and always have a hard time choosing sides: fleming's potatoes, sauteed spinach, asparagus and sauteed mushrooms are all excellent choices.
Consistently great food and great service.
Fleming's is definitely in my top 3 for best steakhouses in Chicago!!!
If not for the giftcard, we might not have thought of it. So this is a random find.
We were visiting Chicago for the Labor day weekend. One family member happened to send us a giftcard for the chain restaurants and Flemings happens to be one of them. (Thanks Aunty!) Â Before we went, we didn't expect it to be a top-notch quality. But when we arrived there, we could tell simply by the loation and the decor that this is higher quality than Outback. (Sorry outback.. we love you too though!).
On yelp website that night, there was a $99 for two people set menu that looks really good and way too enough for the two of us. So we had our mind set on it. Unfortunately, it was a mistake on the website. We were told that the set menu won't be in effect till after Labor Day weekend. (Make sense.. but.. unlucky us!)
So, we had to choose from the regular menu. Husband ordered steak. It was really good. I ordered a filet mignon salad..very delicious and of good value. On top of that, the manager was kind enough to give us an extra order of cheesy potato, and a free dessert after dinner, to make it up for our loss. So we ended up having too much food!
It's a good restaurant. Well, it's worth a try if you some extra bucks in the pocket.
I have now come to Fleming's a number of times for their famous 5-6-7 happy hour. They have comfy booths, perfect for post-work chats over wine and appetizers. They have a rotating selection of $6 cocktails and wines, all of which have been quite good. You can even get cava if you're in the mood for a sparkling wine! The $6 appetizers are also a good deal - perfect for splitting several with a group or having one to yourself and calling it dinner. They also do a full-size burger for $6, and it includes onion rings or a large helping of fries. So basically you can walk out of there several drinks and a burger later for $30. While their regular prices might be a bit steep, happy hour is the way to go!
Review Source:Wow! How disappointing... Â I heard and read great things about this place so I was looking forward to coming here for dinner. Now I'm just wondering how in the world is this place maintaining 4 stars on yelp??
I don't think there was one thing on the menu that was even okay. The only thing that made the dinner was the bread and their butter.
Crab Cakes = Wow, this appetizer was so dry, and it doesn't help that their sun dried tomatoes or whatever they used was so sour. I have no idea how this made it out the kitchen!
Lobster Mac & Cheese - I love lobster mac & cheese, but where was the lobster in this thing!? I saw the lobster shell but the actual lobster meat itself was barely in existence. Not only was there a lack of lobster, but what is going on with the consistency? It was so watery and mushy...Disappointing!
Filet Mignon - Wow.. if this is your fliet mignon I'm worried about the other selections on your menu. Not even a steak fan, and was shocked at the poor quality of the meat. Not to mention the poor presentation of the food. The poor steak seemed so lonely on its plate.
Overall a disappointing experience, not sure if it they were having an off night, but I'm not willing to give it another chance.
Did we have an amazing food, wine and service experience at Fleming's?
Yes.
Did we get ripped off?
YES!
This place is way too expensive given it's a chain and there are many other excellent steakhouse options in the downtown area. The $34 non-validated garage parking fee was the icing on the cake. If you're on the company dime or with a sugar daddy, this is a great place. Otherwise, shop around for better value!
Great food, great deals & special and really good service :) I am still a fan of wildfire but this place is nice.
It is not the cheapeast but depending on what you order and if you can come during a sepcial, it is not the bad.
The shrimp bisque was not as favorful as I would have imaged but the calamari, steak, grilled shrimp, brasied short ribs (all apart of a special lol) was great!!
Everything was fantastic! Â It had been a long start to the week, so my friends and I took advantage of our nights off and treated ourselves. Â The wonderful hostess offered us a table of our choice upstairs or in the lounge area. We chose to sit upstairs where Scott took excellent care of us. His knowledge of the wine and food, and dealing with our picky eating habits deserves accolades. He paced our meal to perfection and we left very satisfied ... Our apologies to being the last table out. Â My only negative point is that the quality of the food did not match its price. A little too steep. Overall, a much needed and much appreciated experience!
Review Source:I love this place for day drinking in the summertime. They have a great happy hour ALL 7 DAYS! $6 drinks and appetizers till 7pm everyday. Cocktails are strong and appetizers are a good size. The bar is downstairs while the restaurant itself is upstairs. Great place to walk in and walk out on a lazy sunday.
Review Source:The food at Flemings is absolutely great.
$29.95 Prime Rib dinner for Sundays in July - what a deal!
It included choice of salad, side dish, and dessert. My only qualm is that the rarest that they will could steak is medium rare...which is not really medium rare. I was a bit iffy on that one. Steak could have been more seasoned. Chipotle Mac & Cheese was great and so were the garlic mashed potatoes.
We had a group of 6 people and they did forget our two appetizers, but were generous enough to comp a round of drinks. Everything was great, service was good. It was a very enjoyable dinner. Their skinny drinks were quite good and they have a decent wine list. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.
They have a really good special going on for a 3-course meal for $39.95, which includes choice of salad/soup, 8 oz NY strip steak, and choice of dessert. Â I had the wedge salad, which was very satiating and refreshing. Portion was perfect and even a bit plentiful for an appetizer (which I don't mind).
The subtraction of two stars goes to my primarily to MY steak. Â The steak had some sort of Jamaican theme going on with jerk rub with spicy mango or pineapple slaw on top and two pieces of BBQ shrimp and spicy corn slaw on the side. Â However, I asked for my steak medium rare, and the center of my steak was just completely RAW. When I asked the server what happened with my shrimp, he began to apologize profusely and said he'd tell the chef to cook the shrimp now. Â It took a while for the shrimp to arrive, and when it did... it was cold. Â I really didn't feel like sending back the raw steak or the cold shrimp because the server was just so frantic and a bit discombobulated. Â I'm pretty sure the server was new or something since he was completely flustered.
My husband's ribeye on the other hand was cooked a perfect medium rare, with a good amount of fat in the meat to make it taste completely flavorful and tender. I envied his steak. Â My husband ordered mashed potatoes, but our server goofed up and gave us Fleming's potatoes instead. Â This was a welcome goof up because those potatoes were delicious! It's au gratin style loaded with cream & cheese.
Dessert was a cheesecake. Â The cheesecake was okay, not bad, not good. Â Just a typical cheesecake. Â And the house cabernet sauvignon was delicious. :D
Hmm...one word comes to mind when I thought of reviewing this place. Bleh. Came here on a date night to try Fleming's out based on many good reviews. However, it failed to impress nor disappoint. Everything about this place is just average.
Why does every restaurant think low-lighting, poorly lit dining rooms is the secret to "ambiance". We sat in the upstairs dining room where there was a TV with the Blackhawks game and NBA Â playing on both corners. Really makes it feel like I'm a sports bar rather than a "fine dining" restaurant.
We ordered the crab cakes appetizer, flemings salad, peppercorn encrusted steak, and the flemings all-the-rage potatoes.
Crab cakes = Definitely the highlight of the meal, crab tasted light and good. The tomato based sauce was also a good compliment to the crab cakes.
Salad = Average salad with romaine lettuce and some craisins and walnuts.
Steak = This DOES NOT taste like prime steak. I can get a better/more tender cut at whole foods for much cheaper. Very disappointing. It also came served on the side with undercooked stringy green beans, and a house barbecue steak sauce. Do they already know their steak is so bland that they need to serve it with a side of sauce? I expect a great steak to be eaten with no additional condiments. Serving it with a side of bbq sauce really makes me feel like I'm dining at TGIFridays. It's an insult to me and to the establishment itself. Shameful...
All-the-Rage Fleming Potatoes = Over-hyped-Potatoes, I don't understand what is so great about this. This is cheesy scalloped potatoes that can easily be replicated at home. Weak.
Our waiter also irked me. He seemed to be giving us an attitude because we did not order any drinks. Is it a crime that I did not feel like alcohol with my food? Was it disappointed that I did not get a drink because being sober would allow me to realize how sub-par all the food was? I think yes.
The prices are not "outrageous" per-se. But on par with many other great steak houses in Chicago, I definitely recommend going to any other before Flemings. i..e Ruth Chris, Mortons, etc.
Wow! Great place!
We came here one night this winter because the place we had planned to eat at had a ridiculously long wait. Not having reservations, we decided to walk a little further and popped in here. They told us it would only be about 20 to 30 minutes so we had a seat at the bar.
Very nice bar area. Soothing and elegant. And the single malt selection was excellent. Hubby and I both had a single malts while we waited for our table.
Dinner was excellent. We were seated upstairs in a large dining room. We both ordered the Filet (me the Petite and he the regular one) medium rare. They were cooked perfectly! That's a feat in my book because anytime you say anything with the word rare in it people think you mean raw and cold inside. No, please, pink inside and warm throughout!
Along with the perfect steak we ordered the Flemings potatoes. Do that!
The night we were there they had a special on certain bottles of wine. We ordered a bottle and enjoyed it immensely. It was nice to see that it was discounted because it stunk.
Now for the bad news, all this comes at a price. And it ain't pretty! No sir, this place is pricey. Definitely a blue moon kinda place for us.
Even though we both ordered the Sunday Prime Rib special (priced at a discount in early Feb.), service was great. We weren't treated differently and service was enthusiastic about the Prime Rib deal.
Food was excellent. My Caesar salad had a lovely dressing with the pungent bite from good anchovies, mustard and egg yolk. Wedge Salad had good Blue cheese. Prime Ribs were an ample 12 oz and a perfect med-rare. Â Horseradish sauce was my fave - creamy and not too spicy. Â Au jus was the only negative food-wise...it tasted like it came from a packet - but it's on the side so I didn't have to use it! Â Sides of Fleming potatoes were decadent and delicious and grilled asparagus was nicely charred and seasoned. My dessert was lava cake - chocolatey and not too sweet. Â I loved the tuile and vanilla ice cream with pistachios even more than the lava cake itself. The turtle pie with fresh Chantilly cream had a liquor taste in the turtle pie that I didn't especially like, but the Chantilly cream was good, maybe a little too sweet but when eaten with my lava cake was the perfect balance.
Tip: Â Happy hour specials are only valid at the bar downstairs. Â Have drinks there and then mosey upstairs for your prime rib.
I went hear for my dad's and sister's birthday recently because I had gotten a gift card for Christmas and wanted to treat them. Â I'm normally a little skeptical of chains because they deliver standard fare at often increased prices. Â However, I'm delighted to say that Fleming's was better than most chains; it's a chain in the way Wildfire or Gibson's are, a few locations scattered around the city but owned by a larger conglomerate. Â
The decor is very typical of a steakhouse with lots of wood though it is a bit more modern looking than many other Chicago places. Â The waitstaff were great and very attentive; they made good suggestions, cleared empty plates promptly, and kept the drinks and bread filled. Â They got a generous tip. Â
The food was delicious. Â We started off with the cold seafood and there was a generous amount of crab, lobster, shrimp, and other crustaceans. Â I had the French Onion Soup which was also delicious. Â We pretty much all had steak and it was great, cooked just as we ordered it, and with great flavor. Â I had the rib eye and I'd recommend it to any one who likes a good steak. Â
I'd recommend Fleming's to anyone looking for a good steak.
My mind is really boggled right now reading some of these recent 1- and 2-star reviews. Â Three of my friends and I met at Fleming's this past week to celebrate a birthday, which we actually did not tell the staff about. Â I've previously dined at another Fleming's location out of state and still dream of the wonderful flavor of the filet and was only hoping this location could measure up.
My friends and I had initially intended to meet elsewhere for happy hour then arrive at Fleming's in time for our dinner reservation. Â However, when I recalled that the website had some affordable and delicious-sounding happy hour specials, we changed our venue at the last moment--and all four of us are so glad we did. Â We were greeted warmly at the front door, and when we noticed that there were no open tables in the bar area, a hostess helped to bring some extra chairs over to make room at the bar for us to be seated.
Our bartender was courteous and efficient at bringing our drink orders and food orders. The atmosphere was a nice mixture of buzzing and relaxed. Â All the happy hour bites were delicious--we really loved the ahi tuna and tenderloin carpaccio. $6 each! What a great value. Â We were pleasantly surprised that there was no upcharge to make the $6 happy hour vodka martini "dirty" or even to add blue cheese olives.
Once seated upstairs, our waitress Davida (sp?) could not have been more friendly or helpful. She was well-prepared with recommendations and was able to answer all our questions. Between her, the guys who brought our plates and the guys who cleared our plates, we probably interacted with half a dozen folks, and everyone was beyond polite and warm.
We ordered filets, NY strips, the mac & cheese, sautéed spinach and asparagus, and everything was superlative.  Despite being one of the leaner cuts, my filet was as amazingly flavorful as it was tender. Since we'd splurged on so many $6 appetizers downstairs, I opted for the petite filet instead of the larger filet. To my pleasant surprise, it was larger than I expected, and certainly worth every penny.
I was so glad I'd introduced my friends to this place. After underwhelming meals--and overwhelming bills!--at Mortons and Smith & Wollensky, I was glad that my restaurant recommendation was coming through in every way. The guy clearing our lava cakes actually noted there was one bite left and paused to let one of us grab it--they usually sweep plates away so fast you don't get a chance. Just great service at every turn--my friends commented on how rare that is lately. It's clear this location places a premium on customre service.
The morning after our meal, I received an email from Fleming's, thanking us for dining with them. I call all this first-class service in every way. We will definitely be back. In fact, we may have to sacrifice selecting a new steakhouse for the next occasion just to experience this again. Thanks, Fleming's!
We came in the weekend of Halloween and it was kind of fun. There were some people already dressed up in costume by the bar area. But we were seated upstairs (booth) which was more intimate.
Our server Kelly M. was such a sweetheart! She was really personable and wasn't at all overly interruptive. For my entree, I had the scallops which was really amazing. It was a small plate, but that's all I really had room for. I paired this with a glass of Riesling (I believe it was Monschau) and this has become one of my favorite sweet whites.
Great dining experience - and hope you get seated in Kelly's area!
I was craving some red meat as I try not to eat much of it these days and we had an AMEX gift card to take advantage of before the month end, so date night was here!
Atmosphere was upscale yet seemed relaxed, our server Jerry was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions.
We started with the sweet chili calamari and it was definitely a nice change from the calamari we normally get! Â Sweet and spicy accompanied with banana peppers and red bell peppers. Â I ordered the "lite" fillet, cooked perfectly, served with their signature Flemings potatoes while my date had the pork chop. Â We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and plan to be back!
Where do I begin? Fleming's was just a dream. I never knew a steak that tasted that good could be so reasonably priced.
The atmosphere was relaxed. Seemed like a really nice place for "happy hour". The bar took up more than half of the first floor but the second floor really gave you something to stare at. The Midinah Temple's (now, Bloomingdales's Home Store) stained glass windows, really takes your breath away.
Back to the food, that's why we're all here, right? Well, lets start with the steak, cause if that ain't good, what's the point of side dishes. They really do something unique here. Instead of grilling, they broil their meat  in a 1600 degree broiler. Because of this flash cook technique, the meat is sealed with it's juices and flavor and believe me, you'll taste the difference.
The side dishes are not to be forgotten. Sauteed Mushrooms, if you like mushrooms, these are a must with an arousing smack of garlic . Fleming's Potatoes, has a surprise jalapenos kick. And the Sauteed Sweet Corn was something sweet to savior.
Appetizers here, did not tease. The Chilled Seafood Tower, with fresh seasonal selections, made you think you were on the coast. The Wicked Cajun Shrimp, created a party in my mouth.
To round off the night, of course we tried the desserts. Carrot cakes are usually overlooked but here they drizzle your slice with dark rum caramel. The Cheesecake was almost as good as mine. The Chocolate Lava Cake was better than any I've very had. After all that, I don't think the creme brulee had a fair chance.
The service was superb, all eleven of us felt very satisfied.
I had avoided comin here since its opening a few years ago because I hadn't heard many good things about it. But, my friend convinced me she had heard great things about this place so we stopped in on a week night. OMG, I was pleasantly surprised!
Their sweet chili calamari was so yummy -- nice bit of spicy with the banana peppers and sweet from its chili sauce and red bell peppers. Could have just eaten just a plate of these for dinner with a couple glasses of wine from its pretty big and varied wine list!
My sliced filet minon served on a bed of shiitake mushroom risotto was a huge let down after that awesome calamari. The beef was dry and not seasoned enough :( and the risotto was more like overdone hashbrown "pucks". I mean, if that was the intention, then they should say so.
Dessert though.... was OMG, hands down the best creme brulee that came with homemade whip cream! We seriously were tempted to go caveman... you know, grab the bowl and just start licking. haha. The creme brulee had this perfectly crusted caramel topped with fresh mix of blueberries, raspberries and strawberries.
Ok, correction. I would order the plate of calamari, creme brulee, and a few glasses of wine the next time!
Couldn't have asked for better service - quick, polite, and just all around attentive.
This is definitely a repeater! Location is optimal if you're looking for a yummy place to eat post shopping, pre-show, or post-work. Parking is alright with nearby lots and valet parking. But, probably could see people thinking that it's cumbersome and pricey if you're just comin to eat here. The red line is steps away and buses are all near by so public transpo is probably the way to go. I would say to give it a try!
Cue Bob Marley: Redemption Song.
Wow, now if only all owner/operators would excel in the customer service department as well as this place did, the world would be a much better place. Â
I'm not going to go into detail but I've eaten out enough to know all levels of customer service upon a less than stellar outing...poor, average and good all the way to excellent or outstanding. Â These folks are clearly of the latter two categories. Â
Totally taken care of and the genuine concern for a previous lackluster experience was evident from an initial personal phone call all the way to an invite back to make up for where things went wrong.
This alone will bring me back...well done Flemming's!
Simple. For the money, there are much better steakhouses in the area. I went for dinner and was unimpressed. The steak was delicious, which is big for a steakhouse, but the experience was not so great.
Service was meh. The busboy spilled water all over me.
The sides were bad. Worst baked potato ever. Yes, ever.
To be fair, the happy hour menu looked pretty good and I might head back to check that out. For dinner though, try somewhere else.
Came here for happy hour during our recent trip to Chicago before meeting up our friends for dinner. Â They have a great happy hour menu as well as drink specials for $6 each. Â
We ordered the tenderloin carpaccio, sweet chile calamari, and seared ahi tuna. Â Everything was great specially the carpaccio. Â Bartender was also very nice. Â He introduced himself in the beginning and asked for our names instead of just asking for our orders right off the bat. Â He was very attentive and checked on us at all the right times. Â He also made very good drinks. Â I recommend the Pomtini.
