So I am really conflicted with Frankie's. Some things they do so well and then some other things...not so well. Let's start with the good: a large sports bar with an absurd amount of TVs, including the mini-Jerrytron they have in the main area. Really not a bad seat in the house. For instance, we went to Frankie's in a group of 6 just this past Tuesday to watch game 3 of the finals and we had no problem finding a table for our group as well as a good view of the action.
However, the service is still slow. I noticed the same chronic issue on a lot of other reviews here. Our waitress was almost non-existant most of the night and it was pretty busy for a Tuesday. The food came out rather quick after we ordered, so it definitely isn't a kitchen issue, probably just a staffing one. I would think 1-2 more heads on a busy night would help a lot and, if you are a business owner, you would want that to help generate profit through more drink sales too.
The ironic thing is, maybe slow service is just a problem with most sports bars? I usually have this problem with Buffalo Wild Wings too, service is always spotty. Either way, it is something easy to improve upon.
Ok, now to the important stuff, the food. I really like their menu, it has almost every option on there you could exepct from a sports bar. Pizza, wings, sandwiches, salads, pasta, burgers and more. I like how each entree has an athlete's name too, much to the chagrin of my friend who just wanted to order the Bacon Cheeseburger quickly without having to read each description. I had a craving for wings, so I rolled with the Walter Payton wings (sweet and spicy). They were pretty good. They were just spicy enough and the sweetness brought some great flavor. Also, the wings were crispier than your average wing (think just slightly more crispy than BWW) which I thought added to the flavor.
I asked my friends if they were happy with their selections and everyone shared the same feelings as I did. So food isn't the problem. One other gripe is that I think drinks can be a bit on the expensive side too.
In the end, I think if Frankie's can just shore up their service a bit, they could be a really solid 4-star place. Until then, they will just be average.
