Scat Jazz Lounge

It's kind of like an underground speakeasy and gives you the 1940ish feel ( I know I know prohibition was in the 20's).  One of, if not the most unique bar in Downtown Fort Worth.  If you are tired of the typical bar and want an exciting change come here. The live music is great and so is the atmosphere. FYI, it's an older crowd and get reservation of 4 if you don't want to share a table. For you ladies its kind of chilly (about 69 degree) so go prepared.

Great place with great vibe and talent.  The only issue we had was with the bartender.  We ordered 8 dirty martini's and they were undrinkable.  They were basically olive juice with a splash of vodka - Think of getting a mouthful of ocean water.  When we (very nicely) asked our server if they could remake them we were told that they could but they will be exactly the same.  Another bartender named Cheryl came to our table and very condescendngly explained to us what a dirty martini was - like none of us had ever had one before.  The other drinks were also terrible ...so our table of 10 just stopped drinking and enjoyed the vibe and the talent.  I recommend having a few cocktails elsewhere before hitting Scat - you will enjoy it otherwise.

I don't get out to Fort Worth nightlife too often, but when I do it's to Scat Jazz Lounge. This place is a swanky dark, little jazz joint that has a speakeasy 1920's throwback kind of feel. It's hidden in a corner of downtown Fort Worth with a neon sign grabbing your attention in the front. One you find it, you'll be escorted to an elevator downstairs into a spacious basement bar. Very exclusive vibe. It's dimly lit atmosphere and cozy booths set a sexy little mood for a date night out.

Cocktails are pretty average, but fairly priced. More importantly, the music is phenomenal. They have an eclectic variety of jazz- fast and slow, classic and improv. A little something for everyone's taste.

The only reason they aren't getting a fifth star for me is because they don't have a food menu. Eat before you come and then enjoy cocktails over some fantastic music. GREAT spot to wow her and try something different. You'll thank me later!
