This place has the best coffee, hands down. Â My mom and I like to visit once in a while, grab a pastry and coffee, and talk. Â It's a Korean bakery, but I like it much better than their competition, Parisienne in Fort Lee and Northvale. Â I find this place better stocked and larger in space. . Â They also have awesome homemade ice cream pops in their freezer case, which I highly recommend. Â Their selection of cakes are great. Â My absolute favorite is the strawberry shortcake. Â They don't use very heavy whipping cream, as do other bakeries. Â I have one every year on my birthday. Â My mom likes their bread loaves and pretty much everything they sell here and is here at least twice a week stocking up. Â If I'm in the area, I'll bypass starbucks and come here for coffee.
Review Source:I've been to Gateaux several times to try out their different pastries. I was really pleased with my first pastry - it was a mocha cream bread and it was delicious. The price was also alright - under $5.00 I believe. Everything else is so expensive and mediocre at best. I've bought a few other pastries that are not so memorable as well as cookies that were.... meh. I've also had their pot bing su and it was also... meh. I have not found the mocha cream bread anywhere else so I will continue to go back to Gateaux occasionally for that. As for the other pastries and cakes, I'd go to Cafe Savoy.
