I have been a patron of Golden Dynasty for many years, even as far back when it used to be China Bull And Bear, and it has remained consistently good for all these years. There are so many local Chinese food take out places in this area, but GD takes it to another level. The restaurant is not tacky looking like some others, the service is great, and all the servers are dressed neatly, some are even dressed in tuxedos, and they go out of their way to make your dining experience a pleasant one.
I have never been disappointed with the food I've ordered and they have the best egg drop soup and steamed dumplings.
Living very close to the restaurant, I can always see how crowded it is, so they are definitely doing something right.

Good Chinese No Chopsticks
First, I should say that I have forgotten what good Chinese food should taste like after 10 years living in the South. It is just too hard to recall the heyday of living in the Bay Area. Overall, I found the food pretty tasty and it would blow any Austin, TX establishment out of the water that I have had thus far (the lack of good Chinese in Austin is an ongoing local inside joke that baffles everyone there). However, it seems that the Golden Dynasty caters to its local Northern Jersey clientele in a way that probably makes many of them very happy, but leaves a lot to be desired as well. The first hint of this arises when you notice the place is in an old house. But you are fully aware of how far off the reservation you are when you look all around the main dining room and can't see a single pair of chopsticks. Seriously, how far are we from Manhattan? No chopsticks?!?! Is the Hudson really that wide? Yikes! This is not to mention that I saw more boutique sweaters in the place than a country club gala. I was not surprised then that the food was very mild in flavor. I am sure that is what the clientele expected.
Anyhow, as I said before, I really enjoyed the food and the wait staff was fantastic. We had a bunch of roundy small children with us and staff treated them with outstanding grace.
