Went last night for dinner. Â It was ok. I had the chicken benedict's. Decent flavoring not the best I've ever had and not the worse. Â Like previous post have mention the portions are huge but it's all filler. Don't be fooled by it. It's there to distract you from the rest of the meal. The mashed potatoes and biscuit is piled high and wide on the plate. It took 3 bites to get to chicken. Somewhere in between the gravy and biscuit is a slice of bacon, eggs and the fried chicken. What would have made this meal better.....more chicken. Â Overall wasnt bad just dont get fooled by the fillers.
Review Source:I honestly didn't know what to think when my Wife told me we were going to the Hash House a go go. I lived in Holland. To me a Hash House has a totally different meaning than it does for most Americans. Since I gave up the Ganja back in the 80's, I was happy to hear the Hash House a Go Go was a brunch spot.
Our visit was on a Sunday morning. So needless the say, the place was packed. We were told there would be a 20-30 minute wait, but we were seated well before that. My eyes nearly bulged out of my head as I saw the plates being delivered from the Kitchen. The portion sizes are huge!! I'm talking Paul Bunyan huge. They were beautifully presented and delicious looking.
Those of you who have read a my reviews on a regular basis know I'm a Biscuits and Gravy whore!. If I see it on a menu, I'm ordering it. The Hash House offers a Sausage Gravy Pot Pie. Its a giant plate featuring a biscuit shaped in the size of a sombrero filled with eggs and mashed potatoes, all smothered in delicious, sausage gravy. I could have worn the giant biscuit as a hat. And that's saying a lot considering the size of my cranium. Everything on my plate was delightfully yummy.
Here's the bottom line: If your looking to cure your late night hangover with some good old fashioned comfort food, Hash House a go go should be at the top of your list. Everything about this eatery is top notch. The food, service and all around vibe are all fantastic. And if your looking for a new hat, order the Sausage gravy pot pie. FYI: You might want to eat the contents before you put it on your head.
Oh my God you have got to try the chicken and waffles! Actually, everything here probably tastes really good. My friend and I went here at 2pm on a Sunday and it was still crowded. Only wish the portions were smaller and prices lower, then I would totally come here all the time until I've tried everything.
