The service was friendly, good beer selection, and there was live music the evening we dropped by. All in all a good Eugene experience.
The burger was good, but nothing too remarkable without extras. You really have to build your own, so it's unfortunate all the extras cost a dollar or so apiece. I choose to add guacamole, which stole the show, a perfect balance of flavor. Based on that I'll skip the burger next time and try the nachos. With extra guac.
The vegetarian chili was surprisingly smoky in flavor, really hearty.
Also, make sure to save room for gelato. They whip up different flavors daily.
We dined at The Humble Beagle for the first time tonight, and I'm happy to say we had a fine dinner. I had the (meat) pita sandwich; she had the reuben. Everything seemed fresh and made to order. Great flavors. The smoked pastrami on the reuben gave it a very unique flavor profile. My pita sandwich required me to do all the sandwich-making, which was a bit difficult and messy, but again -- great flavors, unique combinations. Who knew red cabbage and hummus went so well together?
I could see where if it happened to be crowded, it could *really* slow down. Fortunately for us, it was a light night and our food came out in reasonable time. Our server was friendly and reasonably attentive.
We'll likely return, though I wouldn't necessarily say we're in a big rush to do so....
