We stopped because they had Surly Furious on tap. We left rather surly and furious ourselves. The bartender, despite his 'be nice' shirt patch was pretty rude. He belittled my girlfriend when she asked for a beer list. "Here's the tap list (points to the actual tap handles)." Â We overheard two bartenders mocking another patron under their breath. They more or less blamed him for getting bad (no) waitress service. Â The food was what you'd expect in an airport. Adequate but not memorable. Greasy. Airport-priced.

If one is to believe the menu's backstory, the restaurant was an attempt to recapture the golden days of the forties. This, it probably does with fair accuracy, but the problem is that the American palate has expanded greatly in the last sixty or seventy years. The result is a menu that could use a great deal of modernization, as the current fare comes across as bland and uninteresting.
I did not try the steaks, which I was informed were USDA choice, not prime. The French Dip came with a very salty gravy, rather than the au jus that should have accompanied it, and the fries had little flavor. One bright spot was that both of the local beers I tried were excellent. The service was very friendly, and good in that regard, but not overly attentive.
I spent the better part of a year flying through MSP a whole lot. Like, twice a week. When I'm at MSP, this is my spot. Good drinks, good food, awesome service. Try the chili. Most people who are passing through probably get burgers and sandwiches since it's hard to screw up a burger. But i'm serious, the chili is awesome and they bring it out fast - great if you're in a hurry. I'll totally eat two bowls, I'm not even kidding.

I ordered a patty melt and the "weekender" - a jacked up bloody mary, complete with a giant cube of cheddar, jumbo shrimp, beef jerkey, pickled pepper, olive, cocktail onion, and a gherkin. The drink alone could have been a meal!
We paid over $50 for two people.
This place is alright. Good food, good drinks, and not too terrible prices. Â Burgers here are quite tasty and the salads are solid as well. Super tasty. Service was friendly and efficient and the place had a nice atmosphere. When you are talking about airport dining options, this is definitely a winner.

craving something other than airport fare, and I found it @ Ike's. The bartender Steven was an old school bartender, someone you might find in Commanders Palace or in NYC, very attentive.
I ate like a pig, had the Caesar, above average, Sambal Shrimp deviled eggs, good, very cool dish, but the Sambal Shrimp portion could have been executed better...pot roast was amazing. Very good dining experience, Excellrnt considering in airport
Probably the best airport food I've had behind St. Elmo's new opening of Harry & Izzy's at Indianapolis airport. Â They don't gouge you like O'Hare, and Frontera Grill may have this awesome national restaurant ranking but their O'Hare restaurant served me pure garbage. Â Ike's here is the opposite, it is delicious. Â Great turkey sandwiches, appetizers and bloody Marys.
Review Source:It's incredibly difficult to find airport food that is actually good, and I think here it is. The catch, of course, is that the prices are pretty ridiculous, three-quarters to twice as much as you would get anywhere else.
I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and washed it down with two giant Summit EPAs. I was very, very happy. And there was a wait for seating outside the restaurant. Maybe MSP needs to get it together and throw down some more restaurant/bars in terminal F, but hey, I got mine.
I visited this place because of a 3 hour layover on a flight from Boston, and I wasn't sure about it initially because of the pretty high prices. That being said, aside from the high prices, this is probably one of the best airport restaurant experiences I have ever had.
The All-American Plate is a pretty basic breakfast plate with two eggs, toast or a bagel, hash browns and choice of ham, sausage of bacon. I originally ordered bacon, but the bartender suggested ham instead and I took him up on the recommendation. I definitely am glad I changed my choice because the ham was phenomenal, not to mention a pretty generous portion.
That being said, the ham wasn't the only highlight, as the eggs were fresh, cooked to order, the hash browns better than some of the diner places I visited in Boston, and the bagel was crisply toasted and served with a helping side of fresh cream cheese (not packaged). Furthermore, the bartender filled up my coffee three times and I wasn't footed anything extra (you'll be surprised how much they hang on you at restaurant airports for things like coffee refills).
One aspect I have noticed about airport restaurants is that they tend to push you out rather quickly, not a bad thing considering people have flights to catch. However, I felt there was a nice balance at Ike's. While I received my order fast and the service was hospitable, I didn't feel as if I needed to be out the door in 15 minutes or less. My only reservation is that I am suspect on the waiting service in the dine-in area. While I was lucky to sit at the bar with a bartender who was attentive and friendly, I noticed the experience of some of the diners in the dining area to appear less than enjoyable. The waiters seemed slow and they messed up a couple of orders to boot. Granted it was a big party, but at the same time, I counted myself lucky that I had chosen the bar rather than a table.
With a great 50's atmosphere, overall friendly service, excellent food and a great bar selection (I hear great things about the Bloody Mary's), Ike's is a nice Airport destination in between or before a flight in Minneapolis. It's not exactly the place to grab a bit to east quickly (I wouldn't suggest going here if you have an hour or less in between flights), but if you have plenty of time to kill in the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport, this place is definitely worth the price.
Best restaurant experience I've had in an airport. Â Better than Bobby Vans @ JFK. Â Great drink menu, all the food, of what I have eaten, very good. Â Somewhat pricey but you are at the airport. Â Have not been to Ike's in downtown Minny, should give that a shot too to compare. Â If you have the time, go to Ike's before the flight and get some food and drink.
Review Source:Best Bloody Mary I have ever had. I did not order any food but only drinks. This Bloody Mary was complete with a large shrimp, cheddar cheese cube, olives, banana pepper, jalebeano, several more fixings and a beer back. Once I drank a bit of my Bloody Mary I added the pale ale beer back to my bloody and it was even tastier.
When I win the lottery my friends and I will fly to the Minneapolis airport just to meet up at Ike's for a Bloody--I guess we could see the city too but this Bloody deserves 5+ stars.
This is a five star airport restaurant and great by any other measure. When I found out I had an extra hour delay the first thing i thought was that i had time for the green goddess salad at Ike's. That is how good it is.
The servers understand what you mean by "I'm in a rush and will guide you away from longer wait items to make sure you catch you're flight.
I stop here every time I am in town although I would prefer to dine at the downtown location. Great burger and this place is single handed responsible for turning me on to Pickapeppa sauce. Order your burger, ad only the veggies and pour it on- its amazing. DO IT! Now!
The grilled romaine salad is also very good, through a chicken breast on there and the homemade Caesar and you have a healthy meal, well minus the dressing. The romaine stalk is grilled so it has a unique flavor all of its own.
Good restaurant for an airport. It's also right next to the French Meadow Bakery & Cafe, which gets pretty good reviews (and I've also reviewed myself).
If you've been to Ike's in downtown Minneapolis, then you'll recognize the menu right away. Burgers and salads are very good (love the Green Goddess salad, as emasculating as it is to order it), and the wait staff is very nice. Service can drag as this restaurant is ALWAYS packed, so get a reservation if you can, hence my 4-star rating.
The meals can get expensive, but I don't mind paying a bit more for Ike's food and getting good quality.
As a side note, this restaurant is enclosed, so cell signals are cut way down inside here. My coworker couldn't even grab a signal off my MiFi (4G LTE) near the back, so be wary where you sit if you want to do any work (or update Facebook, I guess).
On my return flight from Paris, having had my fill of European food, I decided to get dinner at Ike's during my layover to KC. Â Triple Threat Chili with all the toppings: sour cream, cheese, fresh jalapenos (fresh jalapenos are a real plus for me, so much better than the pickled ones). Â I posted a pic. Â Service was friendly and speedy. Â
Chili and a beer came to about $18 which seems high (and makes me think I had 2 beers) but really is probably about right for airport fare and the bowl of chili was really big.
What's really great is that they have power outlets in most of the booths and these big spaces under the booth seats where you can stow your roller bag out of the way.
If I'm flying through Minneapolis/St. Paul again, I'd eat there.
Stopped here for lunch during a layover in MSP airport. Â It's a bit of a theme place, service was fine, menu was trendy, big selection of heavier food type items - typical for chain american style bar/pub restaurant fair. Â I opted for a salad. Â It was okay. Â Nothing to write home about.
Next time in MSP...I could eat here again but, will probably try something different
Nice old school feel. Â It kind of reminds me of a Minnesota version of Ted's. Â Nice salads (I got the small cesaer) with fresh bread. Â
Plenty of comfort food; fish sandwiches, pot pies, and associated classic American food.

Probably the best food I've ever had in an airport.
This is not a cheap place, even by airport standards. Â My service was a little slow, but I wasn't in a hurry. Â It seemed like the bar got really fast service, and if you were at a table, it was slower. Â Draft beer was $8.50. Â Burgers are about $15. Â Steaks are pretty spendy. Â All the employees were friendly. Â
Would definitely come back here next time I'm in the airport.
Perfect for a wait at the airport!
Hubby and I spent a nice weekend in MN. We had about 2 hours until our flight back home. Ike's was a nice surprise in the airport. It was almost like "date night". We each had a cocktail. Both were well made. Hubby had a burger and I had the salmon. The salmon was a bit overdone for my taste, but still good considering. It had a great horseradish sauce on top and was served on a bed of delicious buttery spinach. (see photo) Hubby loved his burger too.
I started with a salad and asked for balsamic vinegar. The salad had lots of items in it... cheese, red onion, radish, cucumber.... etc. It was very good. (see photo)
Service was good. Everyone was very friendly.... except the hostess. She seemed disinterested in us, and her job. Good thing everything else made up for our initial impression caused by her.
If you have layover time to kill while at MSP, then aside from the Delta lounge, this is the best place place to hang. Â Ike's is truly as if someone plopped an old school steakhouse in the middle of the airport terminal, so you'll get the full waiter + white table cloth experience if you want it and/or the dark wood bar area with ESPN on all tvs.
The wine list is horrible (I nearly gagged at my glass of Riesling, and I think that was one of the better selections), but the service was very nice and the clam chowder is serviceable. Â All in all, a great oasis away from the rush of other travelers and you can get some work done while you wait for your flight.
A lot of people recommended this place to me...I don't speak to those people anymore. Â
The service was fine. Â Our server was attentive and was the single highlight of the visit. Â
The food was average, at best. Â I was in a group of 6 people and nobody was very thrilled with their meal. Â As a side note, none of us ordered the same thing, so pretty rough to have 6 average meals. Â The quality of the food was definitely not on par with the price of the food. Â Maybe it was more expensive because it is in an airport, but I could have eaten a deli sandwich from a different vendor and been just as happy.

Because I'll probably always go here when I'm at the airport. It's some kind of sick, twisted Groundhog's Day of food; it's repeated.. inevitable...
...and my boss likes their bloody marys. (Now we get to the heart of things.)
In previous visits, the food was just greasy and bland...but nothing was overtly offensive.
This time, they poured me the weakest big ginger (Jameson and Ginger Ale) I've ever experienced. It was like water. Maybe it was just water. I don't know.
You do not short a gal on her drink!!! Unpardonable offense.
I will only be back dozens of times--each time making me increasingly grouchy and taking away more and more of my soul.
One of the better food options when you're in the airport.
We had the burgers and they were very good. Hearty and satisfying after hours in a plane.
We were seated near the kitchen so we saw a variety of options come out of the kitchen. The ribs looked good.
Service was a tad indifferent. The waitress didn't come back after taking our orders until I flagged her down for the check. (A runner brought our food).
In the end, I'm not sure how to rate it. Overall it was in that solid 3-4 star range. It is a bit pricey for what you get but that could be the extra premium you have to pay for being in the airport.
I'm giving it four stars because you have to compare it with the other food options in the airport.

Yep, Ike's is that one in a million restaurant located in MSP. Â When we were seated, there is a place underneath your table that stores your carry-on perfectly. Â Very cool. Â The menu is way too tempting. Â You can see as you walk into the restaurant that they carve their slow-cooked roast beef and turkey. Â Awesome burgers, sandwiches, ribs...need I say more? Â
I tried to be *healthy* since I've been doing nothing but eating for the last two weeks...so I decided to get the roasted turkey sandwich. Â The sandwich is HUGE and comes with a bunch of freshly made fries and coleslaw. Â What makes this sandwich special is the turkey. Â The turkey is moist and flavorful. Â The rest of the sandwich is standard...lettuce, tomato, and onion. Â The french fries were delicious and ended up being my downfall. Â So much for being healthy.
My Chicago to SF flight got canceled, so I had to fly Columbus-Chicago-Minneapolis-SF. Â Needless to say, I was grumpy. Â Ike's was just what I needed. Â I'll definitely be back.
Cozy interior with dropped ceiling and vintage feel. Â Servers dressed in classic uniform. Â Classic americana but with a bit of a modern upscale touch. Â The service wasn't as friendly or snappy as I would correspondingly expect but they looked at me like I was too young especially since I ordered water at the bar (#1 this isn't Coyote Ugly give me water, #2 I'm not sitting in a booth alone #3 I'm in my mid 20s quit staring me down). Â The particularly slutty ladies sitting next to me ordered the Weekender Bloody Mary's which had the kitchen sing aesthetic of two skewers of nearly every garnish every used in a Bloody, celery to jalapeno and more. Â Next time I have a morning flight I may well partake.
I had the turkey sandwich which had nicely 'hand carved' real turkey all Thanksgivingy. Â It was decent, high quality ingredients, etc. but the turkey was dry. Â They should store it with a nubbin of juice or marinate the turkey if it comes frozen. Â It almost needs gravy to slide down to cover it up which is an option but I'm trying to lay off the gravy for the daily meals. Â
My takeout order was slightly wrong, barbecue ribs not shrimp but it was tasty and nicely packed up with the strongest paper napkins I've ever had. Â
I'll be back, they'll probably do better not late night on a Sunday
