Good beer selection. Crappy service no matter if they are slow or busy. Pretty much have to beg for a their attention. They are usually grumpy. We will most likely not go back here and instead go to their CWE location where service has been great.

This is hands-down my favorite bar in Saint Louis. They have the best beer selection in town and great atmosphere. You can bring food and they have a great patio. They have tons of TVs, which makes it good for watching games. They also have great events with local breweries, including cask nights, meet the brewer events, pumpkin bowling, etc.

I understand the concerns in other reviews about the staff being unfriendly, but I encourage you try again. These guys know A LOT about beer and most of them can make great recommendation if you ask. Treat them like a beer connoisseur. They also have the best bar tender in the world, named Emily.

Bottom line: this is the best iTap location and the best beer bar in Saint Louis. If you've  had a bad experience with the service, give it another shot.

This place is cool. Definitely somewhere I'd hang out regularly if I lived in the St. Louis area.

Dedicated to beer, they rotate their 30 or so tap selections every week, and offer a 10 page front & back BINDER full of bottled selections. I love it! The binder (and even the chalkboard) classifies their offered beers by country, type of beer, and even percentage alcohol content. They have a little something for everyone, including ciders and fruit lambics.

This place can be classified as a sports bar, with huge televisions stationed on any games that might be playing. However they also have a live musician, who, I must admit, is actually legitimately talented!

The building itself is very spacious. For a Saturday night, I was thankful to not feel like I was getting suffocated by the beer breath of patrons around me.

There is no food or wine here. If you want to scratch that itch, the pizza place next door will gladly deliver to the bar. But the Tap House has no kitchen, so don't go expecting your typical bar foods.

After originally planning to go to a different beer place, this was recommended to me by a local business owner, and I am so glad we took her advice. I really liked this place!!! The staff are friendly and helpful, even offering great suggestions to a friend of mine ordering a flight. It's unfortunate that my own city doesn't have anything that holds a similar candle, but it gives me a reason to come back to St. Louis and hang out!

We went here to have a couple of beers while in St. Louis for a visit.  It was recommended by a local, and what a recommendation it was!  The beer selection was excellent!  I ordered a flight to try several harder to find beers, and it turns out, the one beer the server chose for me was my favorite of the flight.  I also really enjoyed the live music they had that night.  The place wasn't very busy, even for 10 pm on a Saturday night, which was surprising.  It's a cozy little place with a great atmosphere.

The downfall here is that they don't serve food.  Maybe I'm being a snob, but I like to have a little something to munch on between beers so I don't mix flavors, but that's just me.  Service and selection were great, though.  It's definitely a place I would go back to.  A great place to chill with friends.

Every time I come to ITAP, I am overwhelmed. Ordering my first drink is always stressful because I tend to be indecisive when it comes to beer. I want to try them all!!!

For beer lovers, at ITAP you will feel like a kid in a candy store.  Flip through the menu, which could be a book, and you will discover the exact style of beer you are looking for. My advice, be adventurous.  Get something that you wouldn't normally get because it could be one of the best beers you will ever have.

Whether it is a local brew or import, you will find it here. The taps change constantly and the up-to-date draught menu is on the wall. I also love that they have what seems to be hundreds of tap handles on the ceiling which adds flair and is a savvy way to store them when they are not used.

The bottles of beer are stored in side-by-side glass window coolers behind the bar. The lights in the cooler shine on the beer and make this a focal point of the bar.

Staff is very knowledgeable about the beers and the ambiance here is really chill. With couches in the front, pub tables toward the back, tons of bar seats and a large patio - this place has a great set up to hold lots of people.  I highly recommend it if you have a big group.

They don't serve food but don't fret. Epic Pizza is attached and you can order food there and bring it over to ITAP.  I really like Epic's pizza, especially the White Pizza.  It is a hard pizza to find around here but reminds me of a slice I had out on Long Island a few years back. Olive oil, garlic and cheesy goodness!! Side salad with the balsamic vinaigrette was also fresh and delicious.

With a plethora of beers on tap and in bottles and good food from next door, I could spend hours here but would likely not be able to walk out if I did.

I like both this ITAP and the new ITAP in CWE. This one is the one, though.

The one in CWE might be the newer, sexier (gf) you want to be around at night, but when it comes down to it, the Soulard ITAP is the classic you are eager to bring home (and show your mother).

I've read some of the reviews and the bad ones talk about service and lack of food.
Ehhhhhh, if this is what you wanted tonight, then you should have gone somewhere else.

ITAP excels at serving beer, any beer, and all beers. Come here because you want to try something new but didn't have the courage to pony up on that exotic six pack at Randall's.

"What if you didn't like this new exotic flavor?" you thought to yourself. And "I have already spent over $100 on booze for myself today at Randall's...let's go to ITAP and drink with people tonight. They will be sure to have this random beer no one else would have."

    Cheers!

Argh, this place could be so great, but it is always understaffed. And the people behind the bar are ANGRY. I understand how frustrating it must be to have to serve dozens of people all by yourself, but it's certainly not fair to take it out on your customers.

Last week we got attitude for TRYING TO PAY! We had already been served and our barman had huffed off in the other direction. The other bar tender refused to make eye contact with us or respond to our polite attempts to get her attention. We were simply trying to give our credit card for the beer that we had already been served. I swear, we should have just walked away.

    Then we witnessed this encounter:
Customer: Excuse me, do you have any paper towels?
    Barman: No.
Customer: Do you have anything I could use to dry off the outside chairs. I already checked the bathroom, but couldn't find anything.
    Barman: It's raining
    Customer:  Actually it stopped.
    Barman: No it's raining.
    Customer: (confused, hesitant) Umm. No?
Barman: (huffing) Fine, I'll go wipe it down.
Customer: I'm actually happy doing it myself, there just aren't any paper towels.
    Barman: (gone!)........

This goes for all the iTaps: INVEST IN NAPKINS. I know you don't serve food, and I love that you allow outside food. But everyone would be happier if you just provided napkins or at least had paper towels behind the counter.

Neutral to even absent service would be totally acceptable for an establishment like this. But outright hostile service is crossing the line.

Unbelievable beer selection (please reread that a few times and let it sink in as not hyperbole, but truth...hoppy, heady, bubbly, liquid truth!). No matter where you're at in your beer journey (from the I'm-still-in-college-and-I-drink-whatever's-in-the-keg stage of your life to the I've-been-around-the-world-and-I-know-good-beer-dammit stage), this place is for you. Not sure if you're going to like that unfamiliar beer? Ask for a sample; the staff will happily oblige. Not sure what you want but you know something else that you like and you want something similar? Tell the staff...they'll be able to recommend something. Bottom line: if you like beer, love beer, have thought about trying beer, or have ever even heard of beer, you must go here.

Oh, one last thing: if you want food, iTap doesn't technically serve it...but the connected restaurant Epic Pizza does and their food it great :-) Don't judge iTap for not having any food; they've made food available through their affiliation with Epic Pizza and, after all, they're too busy knowing everything there is to know about beer to be whipping up dishes.

Really good selection of beers. Nice patio, especially in the fall when there's a fireplace. Bartenders let you sample the beer before ordering if you're on the fence, which is always a plus.

iTap is pretty great. It's a little dimly lit for my taste, but the overall vibe is low key and perfect for a few drinks.
Our waitress was so nice when we came in for an afternoon drink, and even nicer when I asked about creating a flight. After telling her I enjoy wheat beers, ciders and the like, she came up with a flight of fruity beers and ciders that I had never tried. It was a great flight, even though it was a little more expensive than other places I have had them made at ($14, but it's quality beer!) They have a book that lists all of their beers--and it is a little overwhelming, but everyone knows what they are talking about. I've been told you can also get a "passport" to document what beers you tried and if you liked it or not to keep track, which I think is unique and awesome at the same time.
They don't serve food but you can order from other places (like Epic Pizza, Bogarts and other surrounding spots I think are great) and eat while you test all sorts of International/Local brews.
I also love the chalkboards, bottle capped table tops and tap handles hung all over.

If you're looking for a nice, casual spot to have a couple drinks, this is the place for you!

IF you are a beer snob: You will love this place. Adore it. Yearn for it. They have beers, both bottled and on drafts, from everywhere under the sun. They constantly are adding new selections. They have a passport club you can join. This is the spot for beer snobs in the lou.

IF you are a beer novice or "I drink whatever's cheap" of "I don't really like much beer" : You will like this place. First, you have to approach it with an open mind. You are here to explore. So tell one of the friendly bar keeps what types of beers you enjoy, what flavors you enjoy, and let them work their magic (although it probably helps to not be that person that says their favorite beer is blue moon!) They have an extensive menu you help with your selection as well.

The vibe is very chill, with plenty of comfy seating, and a gorgeous patio. When the weather is nice, you'll see plenty of dogs and the like. They don't serve food, but it's okay, Epic Pizza next store will be glad to hook you up (the 2 places are actually connected!)

Beer. EVERYWHERE. All shapes and sizes! If I believed in heaven it would look like iTap.

Oh my goodness, their refrigerated bottle selection is the size of my apartment and their draft list could keep me entertained for days!

Our server/bar tender was a very knowledgeable individual who kept my friend on her toes. He knew everything about their beer selection and wasn't afraid to tell you what you wanted to order.

As if their service and variety were not enough --- you can order a pizza from next door when those drunken munchies hit.

First time at International Tap House and it did not disappoint. I am a self proclaimed patio lover and this place may be my new Soulard go to. Awesome waitstaff who will help you make choices and obviously know and enjoy their beer. Order in from Epic Pizza and Subs next door and soak in a glorious St. Louis evening.

This was the place that got me into craft beer.  With hundreds to choose from, you really can find something for anyone.  They also do a good job of keeping good seasonals and new releases both on tap and in specialty bottles.  If you really want to expand your palate (like I did), join the Passport Club, where you drink different beers that are stamped on your passport and earn you some free stuff (e.g., getting a t-shirt when drinking from 20(?) different countries).  If you like beer, you can't go wrong at this bar.  Also - not having food is not an issue here - Epic Pizza next door is awesome and is a great partner for iTap. On a final note, the bartenders and waitresses are very friendly and knowledgable - they are usually pretty spot on with recommendations.

Many beers.. No food. Who doesn't need food with beer? Weird. Went to epic to get  pizza next door and you can bring the food back in. That is great! I love the selection and being able to have waitresses that actually know how the beer tastes. I hate going to places like this and then the waitress acts like a little twit with big boobs who's never had beyond a Smirnoff in their life. Thank you International Tap House for employing awesome people who actually drink the beer too. However the knock of a star was our waitress was a little rude and short. Maybe because we were girls and 90% of the restaurants were guys. I'm not going to hate. I've been a bartender and a waitress. I know where you usually make your money. Still equal opportunist. I'm a great tipper. Usually over the top. Learn from it sweetheart.

Their draught beer selection is really good. The atmosphere is great too. Biergarten per se. Very much the style that makes me feel at home. I would come back many times if I still lived in the Lou.

International Tap House is a great addition to Soulard, with almost any type of beer you could ever want available. Typically there are about 40 beers on tap, with another 200+ beers available in bottles. Seriously if you cannot find a beer here you like then you will never be happy.  Beers are available from all over the world, giving you the perfect opportunity to become a world traveler all without leaving Soulard. iTap also does a good job showcasing the local craft brew scene here in St.Louis.

iTap does not serve food, however they do not discourage food. In fact you can actually bring in food or go next door to Epic Pizza and get a slice or an entire pizza to share while enjoying a beer or two. This is a great place to spend an evening with friends, especially during the summer on the patio.

I don't really know my beer and I almost always try something new whenever I'm at iTap but then promptly forget what I just ordered.... albeit after ordering "whatever this was" another time or two.

What's cool about this place is that you can bring food here.  One time, when agreeing to meet up with a friend, convincing the wife to tag along involved making a stop at Kemoll's for mussels and at Jimmy Johns for some day-old bread and munching on an odd mix of food in a chill atmosphere with plenty of TVs to occupy one's attention.

This is one of those places where I wished I lived closer to because I KNOW I'll be a regular and, judging from observing the interactions between more local friends and the people working there, it sounds like a place where I will never ever have to order anything in particular, and simply trust their judging in picking out whatever for me to drink and be satisfied.

This review has a lot of run-on sentences.

Living in Soulard, I find myself going to this place every so often.  The more I go, the more I find that I like it.  The name says it all for this place.  It is exactly what it says, an International Tap House, nothing more and nothing less.  They have hundreds of beers (no exaggeration) by the bottle or on draft and they do NOT serve any food.  However, they actually ENCOURAGE you to bring in any food that you'd like.  They share a restroom and an interior wall with the neighboring pizza place (Epic Pizza), which is very convenient.  You can go over to Epic to order pizza and other menu items and they will happily deliver it over to you in your seat at iTap.  Even though, Epic offers excellent pizza, you are allowed to bring food in from anywhere else (dominos, pappy's, mcdonald's, turkey sandwich from your own kitchen, etc.).

If you've never been there try to find a seat where you can see one of the many televisions because they are always televising a sporting event.  Also, try to locate one of the extensive menus that they have scattered around the bar.  This menu will be your guide if you are new.  The menu lists all the beers they offer along with their price and a short description.  If it is overwhelming, check the first couple pages of the menu that has a little cheat sheet.  This section does a good job of narrowing the menu down based on what you like.  For example, if you like blue moon it will list several beers they have that you would probably like.  VERY helpful if you're not very knowledgable.  If all else fails, ask your waiter/waitress/bartender.  All are very knowledgable and happy to help.

The bottled beers are typically in stock and you can check by peaking into the clear coolers behind the bar.  However, depending when you go in they will only have a certain number of their draft beers available.  You need to check the big board that is to the left of the bar (if you're facing the bar).  This menu has a bunch of beers and their ABV % listed on wooden planks so that they can keep it as up-to-date as possible.  Consult this menu before you order so that you know you're ordering an available draft beer.

Since the menu is full of import/craft beers, expect to pay $5 or more for your beer, but that is pretty well comparable to what the same beers would be sold for anywhere else.  If you're having a hard time choosing, the staff can help you assemble a flight that is completely random or themed.

If you're in Soulard looking for a good beer selection and have a game to watch, go here!  Don't forget to order some food or pick some up on your way!

    I don't even know where to begin..ok I do

    1) Super knowledgable bartender who could help you pick perfect draft (or bottle)
    2) plenty of belgian or any other country you were looking for and several on tap
    3) craft brews a plenty
    4) quiet on a SUnday afternoon..of course it was day after Mardi Gras :)
    5) feel free to bring a pizza in from next door..no worries!

Tons of craft and imported beers and tons of hipsters. Seems adequately so as they have folksy cover musicians and bands on weekends. Drafts are cheap for the quality at least in Chicago standards as I chugged down a delicious Deschutes Black Obsidian stout for only $5!

I recommend a visit if you are ever in the very cool neighborhood of Soulard!

It's Beer and Beer action. What more needs to be said?

Well, 44 rotating taps, knowledgable barkeeps, open footprint with plenty of fresh air from the sunny patio or dock door. High tops, sofas and tables fill with those in the know. When not talkng about the fine, malted barley, check out the game on 10+ TVs. There's not a bad seat in the house. Not enough Beer Power? How about 13.5 pages of bottles? BAM!

No food but Epic Pizza, Jimmy Johns and Bogart's all deliver. Fine crafted beers and quality smoked meats, need you anything more?

    No thirsty friends here.

    This place truly frustrates me.

I am trying so terribly hard to like iTap, and the employees are making it very difficult.  In fact, I recently went so far as to make it a weekly tradition.  I found out about a Monday night special: half price off half the taps.  We do laundry down the street, and I thought laundry day should fall on said occasion.

If you talked to me last week, this place would have got a bump up to four stars, much like the average rating.  However, last night was a fiasco.  We came in at the required time for the happy hour, and five of the six televisions at the bar were set to Monday Night Football.  One was dedicated to the Cardinals game.  Is this Dallas or Chicago?  I asked the bartender if she could change the television in front of us, and she said NO!  "People are strategically placed to watch the football game."  I turned around, and no one was behind us!   I was dumbfounded.

Then I asked her about the drink specials.  I misunderstood the special, and when I asked her why some taps were on special and some not, she rudely responded with her reasoning.  I was angry at this point.  What did I do to deserve this tone?

We moved to the corner lounge area where the Cards game was on and were quickly joined by a regular.  He had the same conversation with the bartender, and it turned out that she and her counterpart didn't know how to turn the channel on the flatscreens.  Also, he mentioned that some other Cardinals fans came in earlier, and when they couldn't watch the game, they quickly left.

If the bartender was honest and just said, "Hey, I don't know how to change the channel," I would have probably accepted that.  However, to be so rude seemed completely out of place.

No food here, just lots and lots of beer.  But don't fret, they have Epic Pizza & Subs right next door!  All you have to do is walk through the door directly into Epic and order something, and a few minutes later, they'll bring it over to you.  They also don't care if you come in with food from other places, like Bogart's, half a block away.  There are good, large TVs at the bar, as well as some really big ones off to the side with couches for you to lounge in, which makes it an excellent spot if you're looking for a place to go with more than 2-3 people.

Now for the beer: one of the best things about this place is on the first page of their drink menu.  You don't need to worry about asking anyone what beer you should order, because they've created a list based off the most popular beers.  If you like Bud Light, they have half a dozen other beers that taste similar.  Blue Moon more your style?  Well they've got plenty other ones similar to it for you to try.  This makes trying new beers so much easier.

Impressive for St. Louis!! There are ever changing beers on tap, and even more bottles available. Their beer menu is extensive and provides information on each beer that is available.
The downside is with so many beers it is hard for them to keep everything up to date. I had to order three different beers before we found one they still had on tap.
The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. We were there on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend and it was crazy busy. The staff was really busy so we had to wait 10 minutes to order a beer, which is a bit long. It also seemed to be popular by college students.
My husband was very impressed and looks forward to spending more evenings sampling all of the different beers.
I was disappointed that they do not carry Pyramid or Alaskan, but found a decent substitute.

Monday nights are 50% off beers on tap (between 8 and 11 - I think?)
There is also a local beer night on Tuesdays where Missouri beers are $3.

Tons of beer on tap, tons of beers you can't find many places - this place is a beer lover's paradise.

The only reason I can't give iTap the whole 5 stars is the service. Every time I've been here, I've had multiple bartenders look at me - then walk away. Literally. I will be sitting at the bar, I know what I want to order, and the bartender/waitress/server/whoever looks over, I try to make eye contact - and nothing. This is when it's not that busy, so it must be me and their incorrect assumption that I won't know what I want or what I'm talking about. Dammit, give me a Bell's Two Hearted!

iTap, work on this and you're a 5 star place, hands down.

    So. Much. BEER!

I won't lie, I was overwhelmed. The beer menu is massive. My eyes kept crossing. Our waitress was super nice and very willing to help us find something we'd like (she brought me samples!) And when my friend couldn't think of the name of a specific beer, but described the can, she knew what he wanted and found it (despite him swearing it was a red can when in actuality it was green).

I'm not sure what's going on with the weird couch area in the front, but other than that it's a great space. Big windows, lots of exposed brick and cool flags. The patio is huge and was great after the sun went down. It does get loud in here, but hey, it's a bar, it'll happen.

Not sure if it's always like this, but last Tuesday it seemed like we were the only two people in the place who weren't wearing dress casual work attire. There were at least 5 large groups of business people getting drunk. Won't lie, I felt a little out of place. Maybe that was just a fluke though? Dress shirt convention in town? I'll still be back...

    Craving an ice cold one?
This place is awesome! A beer lovers paradise for sure. With about 40 different beers on tap (which change often) and 400 different bottles from the world you are sure not to be disappointed. Every time I have been here I always sit at the bar.  The staff is great and is willing to help to make a decision on something to try as well as give you future suggestions. The prices are also pretty reasonable for beers that are mainly micro or craft beers. It is also in a great location right in the heart of the historic Soulard district. This place also has a great atmosphere and I really like the architecture inside the place, it reminds me of an old historic building in the heart of New England!

After traveling to different parts of the world this place is great to have right in my back yard and allows anyone to get off the beaten path of Budweiser products. Oh and if you get hungry there is a pizza joint that is right next store that will bring pizza over to the bar area for you to eat. ITAP also offers weekend specials which are also a great way to get out for a drink after work in the evening!

Well worth the trip over to Soulard to check this place out!

    "Beer me!"

Another thing you rarely hear me say... I reserve that phrase for iTap. My usual beer encounters involve me scrunching up my face and saying "no thank you," but that doesn't happen at iTap. I can always find brews that I have no problem drinking. Last night they were running a special where if you bought a Schlafly Summer Ale, 100% of the proceeds go to the Humane Society. I thought that was pretty cool, and that's one of my favorite beers, so it was a win-win.

Admittedly, I'm pretty darn stupid when it comes to beer, so I appreciate a place that has so many choices and people willing to educate you. I like to read about the ones that I try and then tell my friends about what I'm drinking like I already knew it. Soooooo hip with the times I am!

Aside from the great beer, you can order pizzas next door from Epic and they bring them over to iTap for you, and the pizzas don't exactly suck if you know what I mean. If you're with a group, ask them to slice the pieces up smaller than normal so everyone can have some. The white pizza is so very good and goes great with a Schlafly Summer Ale if I do say so myself.

The patio at iTap kicks ass but the inside does almost just as much... the back is completely open when they want it to be, and with the front doors and patio doors open as well there's an awesome breeze that rolls through the place so you really can't lose no matter where you sit. The interior is fun and it's just flat out cool to look at all of the beers from around the world.

My only gripe is the crabby bartender who's totally on to me and knows I don't know anything about beer, therefore feels like it's a huge task to explain things to me. Sorry buddy, but you're going to be dealing with me for a while.

    What a neat place!

Aimee had her most recent CMYE (April 2012) here, and it was, as usual, YAAEPOBA! But best of all, it was at a place I'd never been. Actually, to be really honest, I thought it would be kinda like a college bar...you know, like Humphrey's or like Kam's in Champaign. Ok. So I was totally wrong.

They have an excellent patio (which by the way, is NONSMOKING). The patio is large and spacious...and I can see it getting really busy during summer nights. I automatically veered towards the back of the patio because a lot of people were congregating there, only to figure out that it was Bark In the Park's kickoff event. So...ITap is cool enough to have your event here, plus the food for Bark in the Park had been brought in so obviously ITap is also cool with your catering needs, should you have them.

I went inside to the biergarten-like decor and really was amazed. It's pretty spacious in there, with a generous bar, numerous fridges holding tons of beer from Schlafly to random unknowns in Prague and Brazil, at least 40 draughts on tap, and a limited kitchen in Epic. The hightops were pretty neat as the tabletops were bottlecaps encased in glass; I want something like that! And it was a total young professionals on up kind of vibe...no penny pitchers here!

The beer selection would have overwhelmed me as they have hundreds of beer in bottles, but I had glanced at the list online the night before so I had had my "wonder" moment already. I love how they have an up-to-date draught list AND a bottle list online...you can peruse to your liking and figure out what might you want to try for your next visit...before you even go! So I had my heart set on a Hefeweizen...but I kept glancing at the pear cider that was not on the online draught list. As service was pretty slow at the tables (they were more focused on the bar), I had plenty of time to decide. Every drink that I tried was fresh and nicely poured. I'm by no means a beer connoisseur, but even I can tell the difference between a good beer and the cheap crap that college kids buy.

If you are a beer fanatic, they even have a Passport program where you can try beers and work your way towards prizes. Now that's dedication right there! Prost!

Every beer imaginable. Let's just leave it at that....

...ok, you want more? We can start at the beginning then, with the entrance and the decor which is eccentric and fun. It sets this place apart from other bars in Soulard and gives you a preview of what to expect on tap--also eccentric and fun. Be sure to check out the beer tap fountain in the beer garden.

Next up--the beers. Take a long look at the list and then tell your server what you like and they will guide you. If you can't choose, I love the Kwak beer and this is one of the only places in STL to try it.

Finally food. There is none. So head through the door in the middle of the bar that leads into Epic. Order a fabulous slice of pizza or an even better burger then head back to your table in I-Tap and they will deliver it to you. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Next time you need a place to watch the game or need to impress your beer friends make a visit to iTap and let your inner beer-child go wild!

Finally got around to trying this place last weekend.  We had a great waitress even though it was packed and standing room only by 10:30, I never went thirsty.

Great selection of beer (obviously) and as I said, great service; the only issue that they don't serve any food.

I don't like ordering pizza to a bar just to avoid getting empty-stomach hammered by 11pm (and the pizza next door isn't that impressive.

It's probably more of a 3.5 star review, but the lack of food is killing me.  Regardless of that fact, I'm sure we'll be back, it's a great spot for just drinking.

Oh man, this hurts. I love (or loved, to be most correct) iTap but my most recent experience reminded me that indifferent service will probably result in a dispassionate experience. And when the majority of patrons you're encountering are passionate about their beer, well let's pour some passion on their sugar. Know what I mean?

Def Leppard-like references aside, love bites because sometimes, it ends. When my brother asked for the Boulevard Tank 7 saison beer (my recommendation), I noticed he didn't seem to be enjoying it as much as I expected he would. "Try this," he implored my cousin. Two seconds later, my cousin admitted he didn't care for the beer as he's 'not into hops.' Hops? What? My beloved Tank 7 is a saison. As in, low in IBUs (international bitterness units). It's dry, light in color but full in flavor and straight up DELICIOUS. But hoppy? That, it's not.

I decided to get to the bottom of things and without seeing the bottom of the pint glass, instantly realized my brother received either the wrong pour or maybe the keg had just been switched and we were tasting the previously-parked beer. In any case, my brother informed the bartender and she tried the beer. She then had the other bartender try the beer. After several minutes of deliberation they arrived at the conclusion that indeed, the beer did not taste like Tank 7. "And? Can I please get another beer since it isn't what I asked for?" Long pause. "I'll have to talk to the manager to see if it can be taken off your bill."

Just get the kid a beer. If you're having problems with the lines and can't deliver the product in the quality as intended, (nicely) offer him a replacement beer. On the house. Instead, the attitude was free and the replacement beer turned out to be a pain in the ass to get.

Sorry, but you can keep the attitude and I'll take my friends, money and love for great craft beer somewhere else.

My favorite bar in Soulard hands down. Beer, tvs, and of course, a good patio.

All you've got is beer. No wine and no food. It dedicates itself to serving a rotating tap every week. The tap has about 40 different selects whereas bottles are between 200-300 different assortments. They case them in by country and type. To those who have a wheat allergy, do not fret! Gluten- free beer is here too!

All in all they have a little something for everyone. Even the doubters who don't typically like beer. I can guarantee you that they can find you something. I was a cider drinker myself, but coming here, I've learn to expand my pallet and truly get an appreciation for the different selections they have. Who would have ever thought I'd like the pale ale by O'Fallon?

The staff are knowledgeable. You can bet that they are hired based on their love and knowledge of their product. Always friendly and I never leave without enjoying my time there.

Food is allowed. They do not serve food, but you're allowed to bring food to the bar. Don't worry, this is pretty customary. Epic Pizza next door has you covered on that note.

As far as space, it is a decent sized venue inside and outside. During the spring and summer months, it's really nice to sit on the patio. I'd consider it one of my favorite spots to hang out.

Come enjoy a beer. You'll see why it is called the International Tap House.

I frickin' love this place. Beer. That's all they got and I love it.

If you're in to trying lots of new beer or want to enjoy some imports with the company of others go here. If you only like AB products, wine, or liquor don't go here. No they do not have ANY Bud or Miller. Get over it or don't come, but I guarantee you would find something you will like between the many 500 or so beers.

Since they have no food, they do let you bring in your own or order take out from another Soulard business. Very smart. They have a plethora of bar top, bar tables, booths, and TVs. Not only do I love their beer, but I love the way they put it together. Obviously beer memorabilia everywhere and a huge iTap emblem on the wall made of bottle caps. Way cool.

The best parts besides the beer...the huge lighted patio and live music on the weekends. Go iTap. I'll be back!

I too had heard good things about the new ITAP so when the opportunity presented itself (in the form of a New Belgium event) I figured 'Why not? It's only beer.'

The menu is long and complete with Shiner Bock, loads of Colorado micro-brews and some Californians too (sadly none from Pizza Port). I think one could easily drink their way through the nation and world here. Prices were reasonable and I LOVED that they let me taste before I bought. I'm horribly indecisive when it comes to beer, I never really know what I'm going to get and what I want. They have great specials. Wednesday nights are drain the keg night, $12 gets you whatever keg they are offering and they will keep replacing it until close. Not a bad deal if you ask me. There are other specials throughout the week too.

There are only 2 negatives that stood out to me. 1) there is a lot of wasted space here. I'm not interior design expert or anything and I know they are new. But there is a dancefloor-esque open area in the front. It's strange. 2) the first bartender who approached us after we sat down asked what we wanted, listened to us, and then told us to tell another person. What's your job then? Greet me and then refer me? It was strange and confusing- not the way I like my drinking experiences to begin (although they usually end that way).

We headed down to Soulard on Saturday night after dinner to check out the new iTap and their wonderful beer selection.  My boyfriend, Zack, brews his own beer and loves to try new and local beers.  At 10pm, we couldn't find a table for our large group of twelve, so most of our group hung back near the wall until we were seated outside.

The atmosphere of the bar is great.  It is well decorated and has a dark moody feel to it.  The patio is very large and can accommodate large groups with their L-shaped benches.

Unfortunately, we didn't stay long due to lack of service.  All three bartenders were muscle-y men that didn't even give us eye contact after standing at the bar for 20 minutes.  The bar was crowded, but not THAT crowded.

I also only saw one drink book, so it was hard to know what you wanted without asking for a recommendation or clarification on a particular type of beer.  There were also no prices.  I know Chimay and Delirium are pricey, but I'm not sure about anything else.  I didn't want to pick an interesting sounding beer for fear of the price tag.

After 20 minutes of waiting, we decided to leave.

I think we will go back again another weekend, during the day, when we can belly up to the bar and try a few different beers without waiting so long for service.

Great selection, great space, great beer - but man, those prices are insane. I went here for the World Cup USA v. Ghana match - welp, that didn't work well, but the beer was pretty good.

    Yays:
    - The space is really, really nice. Very large bar, large amount of seating, and a great patio outside. One of the better bars around.
    - No kitchen means no requirement to get food, and you can bring in whatever from wherever.
    - Heck of a beer selection. 40+ taps, countless bottles, including 750 ml and 22 oz versions of a lot of good beers.
    - They serve almost everything in appropriate glassware. No chilled glasses, pints for everything, or other such nonsense.
    - Lots of TVs all over the place.

    Nays:
    - The prices. I paid $5 for a Wheach draft, which included $1 off for all USA beers during the soccer match. That's insane. I had a couple other beers that were between $6-7, and they weren't anything special.

The second location of International Tap House recently opened up in Soulard, so I knew I wanted to get there to watch a world cup game.

I was expecting it to be the same size as the location in Chesterfield, but boy was I wrong.  This place is HUGE...and has an outside seating area as well!

There are lots of areas to sit, couches, bar stools, booth-type seating, and tables.  The beer selection is vast...but the bartenders definitely help you narrow down your selection.

While they don't serve food, they are very food friendly, with any restaurant has delivery services, stopping in to drop off your meal.  For the world cup they have had different restaurants bring food in for a very reasonable cost (it was pulled pork when we were there on Saturday...yum).

I've got a feeling that this will be a regular place for me to visit.  Welcome to Soulard ITAP!
