Ok I guess..This is not Japanese sushi, it's Koren sushi. Which is not so good. First thing the soy sauce has a strange flavor. Kinda sweet, spicy cinnamon, not right at all. Can't put my finger on it and I have a good palette. Another thing is the price. My husband and I both had a large sake, 6 pieces of fish and 2 rolls and with tax it was 56.00. Which if the food was good I wouldn't mind paying, but I could not get past the soy sauce, therefore I gave my sushi to my friends..
Review Source:J Sushi, why why why, er, you "removed" your KOREAN menu from your restaurant... *SAD FACE*
Err, was here with 6 other friends for SUSHI and I on Saturday evening, January 7th 2012. Â
Big bummer, when I saw, J-Sushi "deleted" away their KOREAN menu, such as LA Galbi, and some other Korean menu from their MAIN MENU list. Â Major Bummer.
That evening, the waitstaff and the crew was indeed helpful. Â From the conversation we had with our server, he mentioned that the Owner and the Chef for now on decide to "concentrate" to offer ONLY SUSHI in this establishment. Â "Major Bummer".
Even they offer FREE Miso Soup and FREE Shrimp Shumai that evening since we "spent" a certain amount for their "specials" of the day. Â All in all, that evening, my order of Sushi was A-OK. Â
The nigiris I ordered were :
* Â Unagi ($5.50)
* Â Flying Fish Eggs ($4.95)
* Â Tamago ($3.95)
I also ordered the Spicy Calamari ($12.99). Â The Spicy Calamari falls short in terms of the spicyness though I requested it to be EXTREMELY SPICY. Â The calamari, at least were cooked just right. Â From the feedback of my friends, some like what they ordered, some thought the food was A-OK, and some thought the food was "SO-SO" aka "MEH".
So I bid goodbye, to the LA Galbi and the other Korean menu I was hoping from J-Sushi. Â Hence the 3 STAR review is indeed generous... *Sad Face with a pouty lip*
@8/2012
I tried lunch here for something new, sad to see I was the only patron. Â The sushi roll I had was average. Â The miso soup was also average. Â The seaweed salad was overpriced. Â The staff howver was very nice, as expected since they had only me to take care of. Â The menu was extensive and I know I will be back. Â The kimchi stew is sounding great right about now, as the rain slowly falls and snow sets in.
Review Source:We went on a Tuesday night for a birthday. The waiter was super duper nice. Made some good recommendations and gave us some deals plus a freebie for the birthday girl. All the food was delicious and not overpriced. They did a good job updated the decor. We are really happy to have a sushi place within walking distance and will go back for sure.
Side note: We went once before 5pm and there was a guy sleeping in a booth when we peeked in. I know they weren't open, but still...
I have been here 1 for eat in and had take out 4 times. You got to love sushi to go.
The atmosphere is nice. They put some thought into redoing the decor of this former noodles and company.
Price is on par with what you get.
If you go here I suggest you get the crab cheese wontons. The skin is crisp and thin, the feeling is full of crabby creamy goodness.
I have no doubt I will go here again.
