I loved this place! Â Amazing portion sizes and great service. Â
Good for families, private parties, date nights, and large groups. Â The wait staff were very attentive. Â Atmosphere was very welcoming. Â
I have already made plans to go again and have told my friends to check it out. Â
The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was because they didn't have a veggie burger. Â They were happy to accommodate my dietary need though.
Can't wait to go back!
Definitely disappointed here. Â The patio is nice on a good weather day. Â The beer is cold and they have a good selection, but that's where the good stuff stops. Â The service was poor - had to ask several times just to get water glasses refilled. The Hummus Plate was extremely disappointing. Â It tasted funny-like it had 'filler' or artirfical ingredients in it. Â Served with diced tomatoes & cucumbers and canned, sliced olives? Really- canned black olives? Â Even the pita bread was not very fresh.
And for as many tables and seats as this place has - really? Â A one stall bathroom?
Then the bill came- a bit steep for 4 beers, 1 appetizer and 2 sandwiches.
I'm being nice leaving two stars since the two times we've been in the service has been less than expected for a place charging $9.00 for a glass of wine. I've never seen such streaked wine glasses in my life and when we complained about lipstick marks they brought us two more glasses that were just as bad. When i said they should check the dishwasher I was told the health department was just in and said they didn't have enough soap in their machine. I would would write up any restaurant staff that put these glasses on the table in our establishment and would have the problem fixed if it was the dishwasher. The owner never said sorry about the glasses and ignored us after our complaint and no one said good bye or come again when we left. Â The food from our first visit was nothing special either.
Review Source:I actually have loved the steak salad here (sometimes; other times, not at all) and I think the decor and general setting has a ton of potential. Like a few other reviewers, I really wanted to love this place a lot and tried, over what has been about six visits over a year, to get into that frame of mind. Â The menu has a ton of potential and to have a great cozy neighborhood bistro in Burien/NP would be...beyond fantastic. Â BUT. Â The food and the mixed drinks are really inconsistent and I would agree with others that it's several dollars overpriced for what you get. Â The service is usually pleasant and more or less friendly but the wait staff don't seem to convey much ownership of your experience. Â Great parking and attractive new shopping center (I would not call it a 'strip mall' at all). Â But the place can get so dang loud you literally cannot hear your dining companion from across the table unless you raise your voice to nearly a shout because the bar and televisions are all so close to the dining area that you can't separate it at all sound wise. So if you want a nice local sports bar in the Burien/NP area, this might be a great choice. But doesn't work so well if what you're looking for is an experience focused more on the food and a nice dining conversation over that food.
Review Source:Went to this place last Tuesday around 6, was not busy outside of the bar area. Â The atmosphere was good enough and was pretty cool to see all of the wine options they had available. Â As for the food I had the french dip while my wife had the blue cheese bacon burger. Â For my order, the french dip sandwich was nothing special although I did enjoy the bun. Â My wife enjoyed her burger more then I enjoyed my french dip, so I guess I would recommend ordering a burger here. Â
Service was a little bit slow, even with not to many people at the restaurant it took a long time for us to get our check. Â Part of the issue seemed to be there was only one person taking orders along with making drinks.
I wanted so much to like this place! Basically, I ordered the wrong thing (fish & chips). It had that weird rancid oil taste and the fish was flavorless. The fries managed to be decent and they offered vinegar with them without me even asking (bonus point). My husband liked his pasta dish. The decor is really warm - the bathroom was even beautiful. If only they would give that same energy towards the food. But I haven't given up! I'm going to try it again and order something else.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I went in here after seeing a movie one night. They are in our neighborhood, and we drive by all the time, and finally decided to stop in.
We went on a Sunday night--there was one other table with 8 people, and there were about 6 people in the bar. Service was slow. Our server was nice but inattentive. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips, and I had a cheeseburger. I ordered my burger well done, and it came pretty rare in the middle. When our server brought stuff to the table, I asked for a side of ranch for my fries, and she gave me a look that made me think I was putting her out. My boyfriend's fish and chips had absolutely no flavor. They weren't greasy, but it was as if they didn't season the fish or the breading at all. The cole slaw was flavorless as well, just tasted like cabbage tossed in mayo. The fries were pretty good too. For the quality of food we got, it was over priced. I don't know that we will be back--too much about the meal didn't go well, and I don't know that I'd take the chance on another blah meal.
My husband & I came here for lunch a few days ago because I had a Amazonlocal coupon for $40 worth of food and drink.
I really wanted to give this place a shot despite what the reviewers had said and it being in Normandy Park.
We walked in around 1pm and it was pretty empty (2 other tables with 1-2 people). We were greeted quickly and seated immediately.
The tables were nice and had pillows so you could have padding against the booths. Our order was taken pretty quickly and drinks brought out immediately.
We ordered some appetizers (hummus and calamari). The calamari was chewy (not a good sign) and I truly believe it came out of a frozen box. The hummus was also nothing to write home about.
The lunch itself is where they truly went wrong. Our meals were brought out (1/2 rack of BBQ ribs and french dip) after we had finished our appetizers.
As we dug into our food, I noticed our waitress walking out the front door with her purse and coat on. I thought that maybe there was someone else to backfill her.
There wasn't.
So we continued eating not thinking it was a big deal but no one came to check on us or refill our now empty drinks. No one brought our check either. I had to go flag someone down after we were done eating and 15 mins had passed.
I finally found someone at the bar who had his back to the restaurant, watching TV to bring us the check.
No idea how long we would've been sitting there wanting to go if I hadn't gone to flag someone down.
I won't be back. Food was below average and service was poor.
I was here a couple of weeks ago.
On a wim I came here & decided to try it out since they had the Husky game on. I was actually surprised it wasn't too busy when I came by. Is there a reason for it I thought? The place looks nice inside, & the bartender/server seemed to be a pretty nice guy. Hmmmm I'm quite intrigued. Nonetheless I can only comment on my experience.
I had the nachos. They came on a huge plate that was nice & hot, & had all the fixings. They were quite greasy thought. Ehhh I'm eating bar food I thought, so what the hell am I complaining about. I didn't order any drinks or anything so I couldn't comment on that. Service was quick & friendly. The place is kept clean.
All things considered, I'm a happy camper with the place. Try it out sometime if you're in the area.
The atmosphere and the service we had was great. Â Everyone appeared friendly and they were engaging with the customers. Â We were a little disappointed with the food we had, which was a smoked salmon fettucini and blackened salmon ceasar salad. Â We may try again because we've heard good things, maybe we just got the wrong things.
