Service/bartender was attentive $8.00 for house margarita. Ok...a bit pricey. But good. Happy Hour menu perfect and delicious. Mac/cheese with Beef skewer was yummy till meat was too fatty. They gave me a new skewer and it was delicious a bit of wait ...a bit disappointing . Wine tasting at 6 p.m. for $10 was wonderfully done! Music started at 7 instead of 6 but added a nice touch. Will come again and maybe monthly. :)
Review Source:Been here a few times and tried out some of their food.
Their burgers are dry. That's why -1 star. Just dry and unflavorful. Had the Kobe and elk before. Both were dry! Hardly any sauce in there and the meat was just not good.
Pasta is excellent. 5 stars for that. I've had the pesto one and the pork cheeks. LOVE the pork cheeks. Huge chunks of tender pork with a delicious red sauce over ribbon-like pasta. Pesto one was pretty good, too, but I felt like I was going to need to hit the gym hard the next day because I know there is a ton a butter in there. Quite a heavy pasta dish but delicious.
Avoid the beef skewers. Chewy as hell. Not worth it. Tastes okay, I guess, but it was like chewing rubber! So disappointed. Couldn't finish it.
Try their deep fried cheese curds! Excellent when it is piping hot. You know it is fresh when it is obviously warm and when you pull one in half, the cheese just oozes and becomes a string between the two pieces you pull apart. Know what I mean? They've served it unfresh before and it wasn't as good. Â Only 5 dollars during happy hour.
We get to this place at 5:30 on a Saturday night, 4 of us. Â i considered making a reservation, but I figured that early it wasn't necessary. Â But the host said all tables were reserved by 6:30, and offered sitting at the bar.
Hmmm...we can eat in an hour. Â Easy. Â Of course. Â Just don't dawdle. Â But he said they liked to plan for 2 hours to turn tables over...even though it doesn't really seem like that kind of place. Â So finally we negotiated a settlement, I promised to hurry us.
And now I know why he said that. Â They are sloooooow. Â It's not relaxing; it's not leisurly. Â It's just slooooow. Â 10 minutes to take drink orders. Â 10 mintues to get drinks. Â 15 minutes after finishing to bring check. Â It all adds up, and in this case it adds up to an hour and a half
The food is good. Â 3 of us had burgers (a mistake, I think). Â If I had noticed the special of some kind of shoulder beef joint, I would have had that. Â But it wasn't mentioned by the server. Â My wife had a chicken/pasta/pesto cream sauce that was very good.
Go for the food. Â But be prepared to wait too long for things? Â And Scotch and Vine? Â Get another server. Â Or have the woman serving as a second bartender (not necessary most of the time) to wait tables. Â Or the host (not necessary much, for that size of establishment) to wait tables some.
