Went to a friend's birthday gathering here - I don't come down to the South Loop much and was nervous about parking like the sissy I am, but I did find a spot with relative ease on 18th! It does look a little creeptastic when you walk too far west, but you should be able to find a spot pretty close to Kroll's without venturing into no-man's-land.  I'm such a wussy northsider.

ANYWAY it was busy on a Friday night, Bulls game on multiple TVs, drinks flowing, happy times.  It's a fun neighborhood restaurant and a bar, nothing really out of the ordinary but a lively place to hang out.  They had a really nice speciality beer selection which made me happy, as did the basket o' cheese curds because there is NOTHING wrong with that.

I got the chili, Cincinnati style over noodles, and it was okay.  Hoped it'd be better.  Maybe I'm a weirdo for ordering chili and a salad for dinner but I was in a weird mood.  Wished it had more seasoning and more depth, but it was basically what I expected.  Side salad was the usual completely predictable variety.

Fried appetizers here are winners for sure.  Most people liked their food but I got the impression sandwiches are hit or miss.  But it's undoubtedly a great place to watch the game and have a beer you've never tried!

Great south loop hangout. Awesome beer menu and the food is really great for a bar setting.

It's a giant sports bar that serves a full menu of food. The service and food are consistent. Consistently wonderful? Not quite. But definitely not bad.

I don't go wild with my ordering, considering it's always strange to see semi-gourmet items on a sports bar menu, however some of my food favorites are their burgers, their quesadillas, and their chocolate cake. I'm tempted to try their pulled pork sandwich and a few of their more risque appetizers.

A couple of times a week they do things like Bingo or Trivia. They also attract quite the crowd for football game days, so if you aren't into drunk Bears fans, avoid on those days at all costs.

PS: embrace your inner 12-year-old and order a milkshake; they look delicious.
