This is not a good place to eat. Me and some of my red hatters visited this place to celebrate feburary birthdays and the service was horrible although the best thing their were the drinks the food sucked everyone who had salmon it was over cooked not noticeable glaze and the spinach was drinched in olive oil. Their was no bread or butter the waiter was the host and probably the cook as long as it took us to be served. For a Friday night it was only about 25 people in the entire place. The bathrooms look as if they been open for 10 years and they said its only been two years. The manager looked as if she had been working out then came to work, I'm sorry but that's not upscale clothing. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone that's blind! This is so low end and I'll never return.
Review Source:been wantin 2 try this place 4 a while now & finally did this weekend. great food & service but i have 2 admit it is overpriced 4 no reason. perhaps im also payin 4 the ambiance cuz its really pretty inside and i really liked the jazz tunes playin in the background. my girl & i tried the calamari which was kinda fried harder that i usually like but it was still good. i had the ceasar sald & it actually had some anchovies on it! most restaurants dont serve it with the anchovies so i was impressed already. the cream of broccoli soup was also yummy cuz it wasnt watered down & had a lot of broccoli in it. my girl had the lamb chops wit mac n cheese & both were equally delicious. we also ordered the chocolate chip cookies wit vanilla ice cream 4 dessert & they were scrumptious!! even tho my girl was disappointed wit their lack of wine selection we still enjoyed all the food we ordered. our server was really nice 2 & kept askin us if we needed anythin. granted there were only a handful of us in the restaurant so he wasn't that busy but he was still very nice. i would definitely check this place out again!
Review Source:TERRIBLE... service! This place is located in an equally crappy hotel (that review is coming up). Â The service is ridiculous but there are no other options... literally NO options. Â The hotel/restaurant is located in an industrial neighborhood... there's nothing but apartments, lofts, warehouses and this dingy hotel. Â There are no restaurants, no mini marts, no bars... nothing.
The service we received for both a sit down dinner and a majorly overpriced ($16) brunch was depressing. Â After being seated for dinner, it took our anti-server 15 min to come by for a cocktail order. Â The server brought the three beers and one mixed drink on at a time... like they're too heavy to carry all together? Â It took another 10 min to get our food order. Â We all got salads w/ chicken or salmon... it took 40 MINUTES. Â There was one other table so there's no way they were overwhelmed.
The brunch was equally pathetic. Â Dried out eggs, soggy bacon and sausage and the same bad service this place is becoming known for. Â There were no coffee cups, after asking for them, the server brought out THREE and put them on the buffet. Â There were four of us and another two top. Â I guess she assumed some of us didn't want coffee?
I'd rec'd NOT staying at this hotel OR eating at this restaurant.
Hahaha. Â I have to review this for myself. Â I wanted to like this restaurant and be a regular here but it is not to be. Â Those who gave this restaurant five stars are either associated with this establishment or fooling themselves.
We got there a little after 5.30 and there seems to be confusion already even though we were the only people there. Â The tables are small and had nice white table cloth. Â The server seemed very new cause he put both of our paper (copied and stapled) menus on the same side or the table. Â Specials are before 7pm. Â
We had the scallops, NY strip, mac & cheese, saute spinach, and chocolate cake. Â Diver scallops were nicely done but slightly gritty with a sweet sauce with a mushroom risotto. Â
NY steak medium rare was cooked nicely but was a poor grade of meat which made it tough with sinew. Â Served with A1 sauce on the table.
Mac and cheese is mac and cheese nothing seemingly special here.
Saute spinach was tasty and a nice potion size.
Chocolate cake was sweet with lots of layers but didn't seem home made.
To summarize:
Easy parking (hotel lot),
Eerily empty,
Decor was dark, neat but showing wear, (chairs had rips)
Service was annoyingly slow and plain bad,
Food was nicely done but very limited in selection,
Price was expensive, especially when you have to look at photocopied menus.
Go at your own risk...
Lounge visit... Ultimately disappointing. The first 3 drinks my wife ordered(from the menu), they did not have. I ordered Hendricks and tonic but not sure if it was actually Hendricks I received. Â Service...that first drink didn't actually get to us until 20 minutes after we sat down, the waiter was nice however, he clearly was very new or hadn't been trained. Salad was good, stay away from the crab cakes(Greasy flavor). Half way through our visit we both agreed that new management is needed. This place has alot of potential.
Review Source:The atmosphere was excellent. Â I went at night - dim lighting, contemporary look. Â The hostess/server were great. Â The food was good. Â I ordered calamari for an appetizer. Â Not the best or worse - okay. Â For my entree I had lobster and a baked potato. Â The lobster meet was pulled out of the lobster tail making it easier to consume. Â The lobster was good, a little tough. Â One complaint is they served the lobster tail with no melted butter and when I inquired about sour cream they said there would be a cost. Â The potato was a separate order already and so this disappointed me. Â Also about three things we ordered were not available. Â For example I tried the oxtail and they were out. Â After friends ordered the martini special they were out of that particular flavor. Â And when I tried to order the seared scallops which someone had already ordered I was told they only had one order left. Â These are not good signs. Â However the food and atmosphere were good. Â Of my 7 party gathering most folks liked their food. Â Two ordered the lamb??? and was disappointed that it looked more like an appetizer than an entree but as far as the taste they loved it. Â The other sides were good. Â The mini corn muffins that were served before we ordered our meal were really good. Â And we enjoyed the atmosphere, ease in parking, the prices, and the friendliness of the staff. Â I would give it 3.5 but the yelp system does not allow for .5 system.
Review Source:This restaurant is one of the newest upscale restaurants in the Bronzeville area. Â I have dined their several times and tried many dishes. Â My favorite is the grouper and scallops, and each are always complemented with a side of macaroni and cheese. Â A true restaurant is rated in its ability to do three courses well...and this one does 4! Â What is the fourth you ask? Â The glass of wine or cocktail that you may order with your meal. Â They have one of the best Moscato wines that I have tasted!
Once you are done dining, you can head over across the hall to the South Loop Bar. Â The mixologists (Josh especially) do a great job of keeping the party going.
The restaurant does private parties and they have just started to serve brunch. Â It would be a great place to round out a staycation!
I really hope that the neighborhood can support such a gem. Â The food was very well thought out, the decor was unique and the service was impeccable. Â There is a free parking lot for the hotel which restaurant guests can visit which is a plus considering I figure that most of their clientele will drive to their location. Â We had the vodka lobster and the calamari for appetizers which were both great. Â I had the scallop risotto for my entree and it was AMAZING. Â I'm craving it again already. Â If you go there and you eat seafood ORDER THE SCALLOPS. Â They were tender, flavorful and paired amazingly with a perfectly prepared risotto. Â The hubby had lamb chops that were a little overdone for the temperature that he ordered but were delicious nonetheless. Â We went there for a pre-launch day so they weren't serving desserts but we were given some incredible chocolate chip cookies to enjoy. Â We'll definitely be back to check out how the dessert menu shapes up and works with the dinner menu.
