I was just here a few weeks ago and highly suggest it. We saw the nasty show and it was nasty. You have to be aware of these topics going to a comedy show. So, if your offended by dirty things, the show isn't for you. I'd suggest purchasing the VIP tickets for a few extra bucks. We got there a little later than expected and had to sit in the way back, but we had a good view. The only thing that bothered me was our server. You have a two drink minimum which isn't an issue, whether its, alcoholic or not. So, we each had two drinks and the server checked in on us. Before we knew it, she was bringing our bill to us. This was long before she gave anyone else their bills and long before the show was over. So, we ended up going to the actual bar to get drinks but then we missed parts of the show which we were paying for. So, I guess on her end, she missed out on the extra money she could have made from us. So, I am hoping that, if I return, service is not this way again. But I would recommend a friend to visit the laugh factory.
Review Source:Laughs can be scarce when you expect them and yet plentiful at odd times. Â We found them to be in abundance at the Laugh Factory, yay!
I came here on Tuesday night for the first time for a ChicagoNow Blog group gathering and it was a great place for getting to know each other in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Â If you have a group that would like a unique way to have a good time, I suggest you check it out.
We found parking in the garage steps from the club and paid a very reasonable rate. Â We had hurried up here after work so we had not eaten and were surprised and pleased to find out we could order pizza. Â Now was it the greatest pizza in the world? Â Of course not, this is a comedy club/bar but hey, it was hot and did the job. Â Our drinks were great, the chairs comfortable and there was plenty of room to get around. Â Our server was friendly, quick and efficient. Â Plus, there was glorious air circulation. Â Our comics were bloggers who were tickled pink to be on this stage and they cracked us up. Â You never know, you may have comedians in your midst!
I had so much fun, I may go back for on a regular night.
UP FRONT: Awesome place! The tickets weren't as expensive as some other options. Â Had a great time here with my wife on a date night in the city. Â The comedians were all very funny from opening act to the main attraction. Â As with all venues for comedy you have to check out who is performing, because not everyone has the same sense of humor and some comics appeal to more to some than others. Â With that being said...these guys/gals had everybody BELCHING laughing. Â
RECOMMENDED: Definitely recommend it... I would also return here on a future trip to Chicago. Â Very cool place, clean, and their set-up give you a perfect seat in the audience regardless of how close you are.
USEFUL TIP: We purchased the tickets online and paid a few bucks extra for the VIP and it was SO worth it! Â You basically don't wait in line, you go right in, and the hostess seats you in the best location because it's empty. Â It was well worth it and if I remember correctly it was about $10 extra if that. Â The line (especially for the 10pm show) wrapped around the corner and it was freezing cold.
RESEARCH: If you're traveling to Chicago I suggest you research the top five comedy venues in town at least two weeks in advance to see what's a better show. It was our First time in Chicago and we spent hours on trip advisor, Yelp, and many other sites trying to find the best (stand-up) comedy venue (and other attractions and things to do) in Chicago.
I was very excited when I saw this venue come to Chicago. Even better, it's less than a block from my apartment! The first time I went was on my birthday (in June). The venue itself was nice and open. We had a party of 4 and had our own little table near the front. The bar is in the back, but the waitstaff are very attentive throughout the show. I guess they would have to be with a 2 drink minimum per person...
Maybe we caught a bad show. The venue was almost completely empty except for the first 2 rows of chairs and tables. It was probably 20 people in a 100-person venue. As for the comedians, maybe it was just an off night for them or they just weren't that great to begin with, but I was not overly impressed with the performance. I guess I am just expecting a bit more due to the price of the tickets.
Overall, the experience was OK, but I probably won't be going back anytime soon...
This is the third Laugh Factory I've been to and I am really impressed. This Laugh Factory is a source of quality entertainment. Outside of NYC, I am always so surprised at the level of good standup you can find at a great price. And, unlike the clubs in NYC, this Laugh Factory isn't your typical hole in the wall venue. It provides an impressive setting and stage without sacrificing the intimacy of great local standup joints. I absolutely intend to bring all my relatives and family to this club when they visit me in Chicago. Keep up the great work!!!
Review Source:The bf's 30th party was rapidly approaching and I had to quickly come up with a plan of what to do. Â I had visions of a fancy 4-course meal or a return trip to Girl and the Goat in my head, but then remembered that he really doesn't like frou-frou food like I do. Â
More up his alley? Â A comedy show. Â And, thankfully, the Laugh Factory is right in the 'hood, so I scored some tickets to see Judah Friedlander (from 30 Rock fame)! Â (Btw, buying tickets online were $2 cheaper than at the box office.)
Since we got there pretty early, the bf, of course, picked seats right in the front row. Â The theater itself is spacious with lots of tables and chairs (and high celings!). Â I love that it's not cramped at all like some other comedy venues I've been to.
Our waitress was nice, fun and always came by to check on us. Â Be warned -- there's a 2 drink minimum at Laugh Factory. Â The drinks can either be alcoholic or non-alcoholic, but the alcoholic drinks are so overpriced, your best bet is to just anytthing but alcoholic drinks. Â (Case in point, my vodka tonics were $9!) Â Also, their food selection is pretty sad. Â It's limited to a $9 personal pizza, a hot dog, chips/salsa, hummus and pickles. Â Eat before you get there. Â
Other than that, this is a great venue. Â The performers always hang around afterwards, so you might have the opportunity to snap a picture with one of them! Â And, there's tons of social media deals, too. Â If you check-in on 4sq or show them that you follow them on Twitter, you get a free tix to a future show!
Was here for a show last night, had a good time. The theater is really nice and I like the setup. The comedians were good. I don't think there should be a 2 drink minimum to go to a comedy club and I don't think there is any excuse to charge $3 for a tea bag in hot water or for a bottle of water.
Review Source:They did a great job renovating this place to become Laugh Factory! Really clean, nice seating arrangements, and service is great. I've been to the one in LA as well and am always a fan of the Laugh Factory. This will definitely be a frequented spot for a relatively inexpensive really fun night out! One of my favorite things about Chicago is the ability to see amazing comedians anytime!
Review Source:My fiancé and I went to a show here last weekend. Extremely over priced. Comedians were not impressive, crude, and overall not very funny. Service was horrible! Our waitress Becky included gratuity on our check even though my fiance had tipped her cash with every drink she brought! Our receipt said $75 and our bank statement the next day said $95. We called and asked about the extra $20 and were told that we would not receive a refund and we could call a lawyer if we really wanted.....bad experience and needless to say we will not be returning!
Review Source:Where to begin....
Laugh Factory minus the laughs. Â I love stand up comedy and there are definitely some great places for that in Chicago, but based on my experience last Friday this is not one of them. Â All of the comedians were bad. Some worse than others. Â The drinks and appetizers were terrible. Â I wanted to like this place, but other than it being clean there were no positives. Maybe we caught it on a bad night, but I would think on a Friday night they would have a decent line up. Â I give credit to people who can get up and do comedy, but these people may want to rethink this profession.
HEE HEE
No that's not a Michael Jackson impersonation but the sound I make at the factory of laughter. I'm so glad it opened a branch in Chicago. I mean we have no shortage of funny around here: Second City, infinity inprov groups, tons of theater, random art, our economy and politics. But there can never be too much laughter, it is the best medicine. And it's a good ab workout.
Going you will generally have to wait in line outside which can be vexing but if you chat with your partner and others in line it helps. Very strange they don't open it up so people can buy drinks at the bar before the show. That's lost revenue.
The theater is cozy, yet spacious. The tables aren't too close and the aisles are wide. I prefer to sit front row center. The backdrop a lit stained glass looking arch on the stage is odd- it reminds me of the church.
All the comics I've seen have been really funny. I like that besides the famous headliners they showcase locals and up and coming acts. I like the diversity of styles of comics. Some do observational humor, some are self deprecating, and few riff on current events and celebrities.
I appreciate the organization is big into philanthropy.
They serve pizza and chips and salsa. The servers are great.
Tips
There's many ways to see free or reduced shows. There's a Yelp check in offer for 2 FREE tickets. Also, they host many free nights and events (with 2 drink minimum). Also, coupons are offered.
If you go and hear a high pitched HEE HEE. It's not the ghost of MJ but specter of AP.
So, I have been here a handful of times. Â What I enjoy about this place is that they have multiple comedians and even the host is funny! Â I have been to Second city and even Zanies, but with their high priced tickets and minimal acts its a hard chance to take and can easy ruin a night out. Â Both Zanies and Second city have failed me once before and guess what... I haven't been back. Â The laugh factory has multiple acts, so even if you do not really like one comedian, the other may have you laughing off your seat. Â I live right down the street and the price is reasonable as well, so all in all... its a Bargain. Â I will return :D
Review Source:This was a cute & cozy lil place - a little too close for comfort with strangers- having to have to share a table and very little space for drinks. Came here to check out Chris D'Elia and loved the show. Since this is in the city, no parking- except for garage parking. Very friendly service- the owner, security, front lobby and the waiters.
Review Source:Just saw the ALL STAR comedy at Laugh Factory and it was HYSTERICAL!!!! Seriously there were times when I was crying I was laughing so hard. The show I saw was hosted by Kelsie Huff and it featured Megan Gailey, Sherman Edwards, Frank Townsend, and Brian 'Da Wildcat' Smith. They were all fabulous. They were all funny in different ways, but if I HAD to chose a favorite, it would probably be Megan.
For $10, you really cant beat this place. I will definitely go back, especially since its right in my neighborhood. One thing I will say - Kelsie said if you liked the Laugh Factory facebook page, you'd get 2 free tickets. I liked their page right when I got home from the show, but didn't see anything about the free tickets...Kind of a downer, but oh well.
All around, go check out Laugh Factory. You'll be glad you did!

THE BEST COMEDY CLUB IN CHICAGO!!!!! I used to go there when it was the Lakeshore Theater (pretty run down), but they completely redid the inside from top to bottom and it's now the quintessential comedy club. Great comedians, great staff, great price and with no backstage area, you really get up close and personal with the comedians.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I went to see Felipe Esparza on a sunday night. Â We go there a little late but the staff was super nice and let us know that they had just started. Â We reserved seats because I didn't know how crowded it would get, I mean, it's Felipe Esparza! Â I had a great time, the host was great and the opening comics were pretty funny. Â The drinks were a tad over priced, then again, it's the City.
All in all, had a great night!
My friend and I went on a double date to the Laugh Factory and we had a blast.
This club, from the decorations, to the comedians, to the professional staff, really knows to how to give you a great night out. Matter of fact, since my divorce, I've had a hard time picking good first date places. This is the place for that! Laughs are a great way to break the ice of newness.
Now, my boyfriend  and I have decided to go there for our first, second, and third month anniversary dates. It's our place for luck now.
My only issue is finding a parking lot that's affordable.
Saw Mr. Malibu's Most Wanted. <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.imdb.com%2Fname%2Fnm0005085%2F&s=a15a1ca79b1597d4cf53f8809867dde7332aabb7ff498960b79d824a9fa2d204" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.imdb.com/name…</a>  if you don't know. He's raunchy, edgy and hilarious.
Thursday nights are better than a weekend i think. It's like watching your favorite musician unplugged. W/out the drunks and noise.
There was that one infamous lady in the crowd that tried to become part of the act. Jamie did his slap in your face compliments to quiet the disturbance.
Laugh Factory is what you make of it. The LA connect it has is cool for seeing bigger talent w/out the big hole left in your wallet.
Try it out. Even better if you can score comp tix which i got.
Bring a date. Something to chat about even if the acts are poor?!
Ok, so, based on my experience last weekend, I would like to give this place 1-star, or less, if I could! Â However, I gave two stars because the girl hosting the show Saturday night was HILARIOUS!!! Â I would pay good money to go and listen to her talk all night! Â SHE should be the star act here people! Â But, instead, every comedian she introduced was worse than the one before! There was one funny bit about Craigslist, which I died laughing over, and the guy playing the guitar had some funny parts, but other than that, it was awful! Â I seriously almost fell asleep towards the end. Â The friends I was with also hated it, vowing to never go back! Â Simply put - it just wasn't funny! Â And, we were all bored out of our minds! Â Let me just preface this next part by saying that I am not easily offended, and have NEVER found a topic innapropriate for comedy. Â However, we ended up leaving the show before it was over, in the middle of a bit about pedophilia! Â And, not some funny twist on pedophilia (if there is such a thing) but like a "kinda makes you wonder if the comedian IS actually a pedophile" kinda way. Â It really just made me and my friends physically ill to listen to. Â We got up and left - it was a dissapointing end to the night!
We originally intended on going to Second City, but they were sold out, so we ended up here. Â My suggestion to you would be to buy your tickets in advance at Second City, so you don't end up ruining a perfectly good Saturday night!
Do you enjoy laughing? I do. I'm not sure if a lot of the other Yelps who reviewed Laugh Factory Chicago enjoy laughing as much as I do, but I think this place deserves five stars.
I went to the Laugh Factory recently to celebrate my two-year wedding anniversary with my husband, and we had a great time. We went for an 8 o'clock show on a Saturday night, and the place was pretty packed. We were seated toward the front since we arrived early, and I was happy with our view of the stage.
We heard four comedians perform, one of which was Jacob Williams from "America's Got Talent." All four were really funny, and my husband and I were in stitches for 85% of the show. The other 15% was spent drinking.
The drinks are a little pricy. My Ketel and cranberry cost $10 each, but they were pretty stiff, so it's OK. They also serve food, but we stuck with booze the whole night.
Our server was really good. She had a lot of tables to cover and was running around taking care of everyone for the entire show, but she did a really good job of keeping our drinks replenished.
Overall it was a really fun night and a great way to spend our anniversary. We will definitely be back!
Well well well. Look who decided to write a review.
So, I'm not sure why people are complaining. I've spent several really fun nights at The Laugh Factory. Complaining about the decor at a comedy club? Really, people. Get a life.
Eric Andre's set at the TBS Just For Laughs show, was probably the hardest I've ever laughed at a live performance. I could give a crap about anything else aside from the tear streaming, stomach exercising laughs that were coming from my throat. But that's not to say the place isn't nice. The theater is gorgeously spacious with comfortable seating. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. The walkways are wide enough to allow servers to drop off drinks without obstructing stage views, and the staff works quickly to keep the drinks coming. From the opening act until final curtain, this seems to be a well oiled machine.
The lobby bar is on par with a loop area hotel bar. It's inviting, but most people seem to keep to the small group people they came with. You won't likely make too many introductions or spend the entire night there, but it's nice to not have to movie theater file out the door after the show. After many shows, you'll find a comic or two bellying up to the bar. After Colin Kane's show, he chatted up my friend and I for a good amount of time. We had both enjoyed his show, and the personal interaction made it that much more of a cooler experience.
Now that I'm an old married broad, going to bars doesn't have the same appeal. The Laugh Factory makes for not only a good date night activity, but also for a fun girls' night where one don't spend the night watching single friends trying to get phone numbers. Unless, of course, they're hot comics a la Colin Kane.
Been to about four shows here and they all have made me laugh a bunch. It is set up like a comedy club but you are not packed in like sardines at other more traditional comedy clubs. Like every traditional comedy club they have a 2 drink (item) minimum so account for that before you come. If you are going to a show that will not sell out, you can likely get a deal somehow and not pay full price (follow the performer on twitter / facebook). The food here is not so great but will do if you NEED it , goto some other delicious foodery on Broadway beforehand. They do not have any brew on tab here and pretty much all the brew is Macro brews but I can deal. The place is clean and the jokes are funny, staff is nice and it is overall a fun experience. Happy to have another awesome comedy outlet in the city.
Review Source:Update:
Called to make a reservation using my comp they provided because online reservations didn't allow a coupon code. Â After 2 days of trying to reach someone, finally got through to a live person. Â Unfortunately, the one show I had interest in was a special event and these were not good for that. Â When I explained my story, she was shocked that I had this previous situation happen there and also felt it was not good that this was the way it was handled. Â She was very kind and seemed to geniunely want to help. Â She asked if she could place me on hold while she found the manager to further discuss and see if they could make a special arrangement for this show. After not being able to track down the manager (big surprise!) she took my number and said they'd get to the bottom of it and call me back. The show was 8 days later and I never received that phone call. Also, the show didn't sell out, so I'm not sure how they benefited from not allowing me to use the comp and spend other money there (still responsible for the 2 drink min with the comp). Â Instead, I went back to Up and had another good experience there. Â I guess I know where I'll be spending my money.
If you have ever been to Zanies you know what its like to be packed impossibly close together in a run down club. Â The Laugh Factory is so much nicer than Zanies and I am excited to have an alternative. Â The LF is much roomier, with nicer furniture and better staffed, and all in all, it was a really great experience. Â A few tips...
- VIP tickets aren't necessary if you dont mind standing in line for a little while. Â We sprung for them which allowed us entry 45 minutes before the show while general admission ticket holders were queuing up in line out front. Â Once in, you can sit anywhere you want and with that we tried out several seat locations. Â We were attending the first show. Â If you go to the second show, you are allowed into the lounge just outside of the theater instead of waiting in line. Â Online they say that you are guaranteed first 2 rows or a booth. Â The truth is you get to go in early and can select any seat you'd like. Â We found this pretty cool. Â We actually spent time moving from area to area to find the best seat. We finally settled on the elevated ring of seats located around the lowest table level which meant we didnt have anyone crowded around us. Â VIP isnt necessary if you dont mind waiting in line. Â Those people with general admission seats that were in the first 1/3 of the line were able to snag great seats anyway and didnt have to pay an extra $15. Â
They appeared to let the GA tickets in about 15-20 minutes prior to the event. Â Our show ended 20 minutes before the start of the next show. Â Â
Drink prices prices are reasonable for a comedy club with $5 domestic beer, $10 for a glass of wine. If you're going dry for your two drink minimum a Coke will set you back $3.
The service was very good but our location was particularly helpful with that since we were right along the waitress race track. Â
I didnt spring for the 5 star review because the seats in the table section are still pretty crowded. Â Also, they dont direct anyone to seats and as such there was some confusion once the GAs came in.
My husband and I went to the show last night (David Koechner headliner).
To start with, the show was supposed to start at 7:30, but actually started at 8:10pm.
The only thing I could think about was the fact that I was paying a sitter $15 an hour to sit and wait for the show to start. I was practically BOILING by the time the show actually started and we debated whether to ask the manager to comp us the FOUR drinks we HAD to buy. (even though our tickets were $75). Â I wasn't the only one that was annoyed, the couple next to me debated for 10 min whether to get up and ask for their money back and the crowd in general was incredibly restless while waiting 40 min for the show to start.
It was hard to enjoy the first guy because I was still so mad about waiting.
As for the actual show, David was funny and the second act was funny (Pat Tamasulo), but the other two guys were NOT funny. I could hardly understand what the third act even said.
Between the high ticket price, the 2 drink a person minimum and the 40 min wait for the show to start....I would not go back. There are way too many other places to go in Chicago and I would go to all of them first.
The Thursday night show "The Wind Up" was hilarious...they had a great set of comedians. Â Definitely on track with the other stand up comedy shows in the city. Â
The theater is nice; however the ticket and two drink minimum gets expensive, even with beer. Â The theater decor is just average, but overall I think it is a good option if you are looking to do something different, especially during the week!
We will not be going back to this place. If you want to see comedy in Chicago, go to Second City.
We arrived a little before the time printed on our tickets and were told that we had to stand in the cold because the time printed on our tickets was incorrect. When we were allowed in, the waitress was nice but the hostess was extremely rude and unaccommodating.
On to the comics--I would have enjoyed a slideshow of lolcats better than any of the material these guys had. I don't consider myself to be all that uptight (ie, I watch South Park, Chappelle Show, etc.) but the misogyny, drug use, and all-around pathetic lives of the comics had me hoping that it was all just an act. There was no intelligence to the humor, just cheap shots at people in the audience and creepy jokes about sex.
I doubt they'll be around long with all the specials trying to drag people in the door so they can force them to buy two tiny servings of Coke beverages for $4.
This place is pretty cool if you're looking to do something different. I came on a Friday night for the 8pm show and it wasn't that packed so this review might not reflect on the poor reviews that the Laugh Factory was given from several patrons on busy nights.
I arrived late and there was no line. It's a comedy club, even the doorman was trying to be funny when he said I didn't fit dress code cuz my pants were too tight. Har har... but I actually thought he was serious. Again, it's a comedy club, be prepared to be laughed at whether it's at the expense of the comedian (he roasted several patrons) or any other employees. Take it with a grain of salt, otherwise don't come.
Needless to say, the comedians were great. James Stephens III was hilarious and does awesome impersonations. He's really talented and gets the crowd involved (although sometimes not voluntarily). His opener Chris Bader is a rising star. He's funny and holds a great stage presence. His opening act was too short, I wish I could have seen more. Really good stuff and hope to see him again in the future.
The theatre itself is pretty cool. It wasn't packed so I was able to snag a table and booth front row and the waitress did a good job of keeping our drinks refilled. I will agree with a previous review, however, that she came around almost TOO much. It is a comedy club afterall so this is where they make their money but it wasn't necessary to come around every 2 minutes asking if I needed another beer. Then again, this is better than not being able to find her when I need one so it's a double edged sword.
I'd be curious to see how this place is on a busier night with a bigger act. I would definitely come back to the Laugh Factory, great for a date or just a fun way to start your night before going out.
woof, some brutal reviews here.
I've been to quite a few comedy clubs and this is definitely up to par in comparison, actually better because it is much newer than most Chicago venues.
I went on 4/8, I imagine Sunday night shows are not as packed as say a Friday or Saturday, but hello, to those of you bitching about the line, don't leave your house on the weekend. With that said, I always spring for convenience. So, I bought a VIP ticket online, printed it at home and skipped the line at the venue...what a concept.
It should also be noted that they are still going through their 'soft opening', there hasn't been a grand opening yet, so many of the things I imagine that aren't working for some patrons will be fixed, or at least I hope so for the sake of their reviews/word of mouth.
Two drink minimum, typical of every comedy club that's ever been a comedy club. Five or six Goose Island brews, typical wine, and hard liquor. The food is, interesting, not that you should ever go to a comedy club for their culinary expertise, but if you must it was hot dogs, pizza, chips n salsa..basically pretend you're going to a baseball game in that regard.
I will definitely be back!
I went during the grand opening weekend when Russell Peters was there. Â The layout of the Laugh Factory is not all that great. I understand that the space they have is limited, I still think they could have done a better job with it. Â The upstairs seating is horrible. Â If you are not seated up against the railing then you are S.O.L. Â I think they need to put more flat screens so the people upstairs sitting against the wall could at least see what's going on on stage vs. just hearing the jokes. Â I also hear that they do not have a green room for the comics, so I'm curious to see where they would fit that in.
The stage looks great & I appreciated that they gave the people free passes to come again for waiting in the cold.
I was really expecting more when I went to Laugh Factory. Let me start off by saying that I enjoyed the show, and I enjoyed the comedians, and I suppose that is what matters most.
However, I was really disappointed with the environment and the staff. The interior is very generic. Generic decorations. Generic furniture. Generic carpet. etc etc. It doesn't look like they didn't put money into it, it just looks very bland and commercial. Imagine McDonald's doing the interior design.
Upon entering, the three people we encountered weren't very friendly. The service was lacking and comparable to what you would expect at airport security. Â It felt like they were just shuffling people in to buy drinks. I know they need to make money, but I felt very pressured by our server to keep buying drinks. She wasn't rude at all, we could see her trying to be friendly, just very incessant. Â And she didn't realize she made a racist inquiry when she asked my Mexican friend if he worked at Chipotle.
Granted, they just opened, so they have plenty of time to refine the service. Like I said, the show itself was good, it was everything happening off stage that I didn't like.
The Laugh Factory provides good stand-up in one of the nicest comedy venues in Chicago. Â I was a regular this spot's predecessor (Lake Shore Theater), and this place completely blows it away. Â The interior is cleaner and more modern, they added a balcony and tables on the main floor (no more movie theater seats), and threw in some flat screen TVs and a beautiful stage backdrop.
I caught the 'Best of the Midwest' show and the talent was pretty high-caliber. Â The sets are shorter, but we got to see about eight comics which kept things fresh and fast moving. Â Of course some were better than others, but the majority of the comics were experienced and funny. Â For $10, this is a better value than the Old Town comedy venues and on par with some of the less popular venues (e.g. Lincoln Lodge, Comedy Bar). Â They do require a two-drink minimum, but they let you know this before you purchase the tickets.
This place sort of a chain since it has Hollywood and Long Beach locations, but they do a good job of keeping the menu local. Â The only beer they serve is Goose Island (about five types in bottles) and they serve Gino's East pizza. Â The service seemed to be great for 95% of the patrons, but I was ignored as I sat on the very left side of the stage (on the raised wrap-around section). Â I'm not sure what broke down, but I actually had to grab the waitresses attention and order at the bar a couple times. Â Unfortunately, this is the only thing keeping this place from a 5-star review.
This is such a far cry from the old Lakeshore Theatre. Â I was here to see Russell Peters. Â They had really good opening acts, I couldn't remember the comedian's name, but to the one that looks like Ellen Page-you rock!
The inside was a gut remodel, it was very cozy. Â They had tables in the front and booths, the tables and walls were red. How romantic. Â They added a balcony upstairs, I couldn't tell but I think it was standing room only up there. Â We waited in the cold for over an hour, my toes nearly fell off by the time we made it in. Â People were taking turns to warm up in Chipotle. Â I am so glad someone decided to give this place a makeover. Â What a great addition to the neighborhood.
Was here on opening night and I was not impressed that they made us all wait outside the theater. They only let people in at around 7.45pm when the show is scheduled at 8pm. There were hundreds of us in line out the door and the weather was crappy. At least let us in the theater and order a drink or something. At least you'll sell a few beers too.
I've been to this theater when it was Lakeshore theater. I like how it looks now.
Two comedians Sisco and Angelo were the opening acts for Russell Peters. They were all great. The new owner/manager seemed very nice, he's really trying to get the word out and gave us free tickets to come back in the future. Not bad.
Would come back again for a good time.
