I have been here twice for lunch. Â Both times a cup of soup and a sandwich. Â The first time was Manhattan clam chowder with the basa oreganata and today it was the spicy crab bisque and a crab cake sandwich. Â The soups are both a 5. Â Extremely hardly and big chunks of sea food. Â This is definitely not diner soup.
Both sandwiches were very tasty. Â My crab cake was particularly delicious but on the small side. Â I should also note that the cole slaw is very good as is their tartar sauce. Â Service was friendly and sufficiently attentive. Â
I know of people who come here for dinner but I'm not sure I'd be one of them. Â The prices seem to be a lot higher at night and it isn't exactly the prettiest of places. Â The bathroom is downstairs and I pretty much had to duck all the way down the steps as well as in the bathroom. Â
It is a small place and the kitchen looks small as well so I can see when it's busy things could be slow in coming out although I have not had this problem at lunch time noting that both times there was towards the end of the traditional lunch hour and the crowds I hear they have may have already thinned out. Â (note to self:keep sentences shorter).
I am still having pleasant thoughts about the soups.
I recently came here for dinner on a Thursday night. Â The reviews were right on with the service. Â Soooo Slooooow. Â Server was super nice and apologetic about it.
Food was barely mediocre though. Â I had been in several years ago, and was thoroughly impressed with the food. Â It was a shock to be presented with food that I had to salt excessively to make edible. Â I won't be returning any time soon.
