Mercy Wine Bar

This will always be my hotspot to wine tasting and relaxation. The original tasting of flatbreads and the great complimentary crackers and breads for wine made a great combo to dive and enjoy the rest of the day or night!!

Still an off experience.  Max's Wine Dive and Cru are better options, and well worth the drive.

The food and the wine list are still good, but the service is off.  The other night we had difficulty figuring out who our waiter was, as it seemed there were a couple in our section, plus the water person, plus the random woman dealing with some of the  checks.  However, the one cheerful dude we encountered was also recommending swill to the table next to us, so it's a bit of a wash.

We paid in part with a Groupon and the random woman grabbed my fiance's phone and walked off with it without asking, which made us both really uncomfortable.  She eventually returned it without sincerely apologizing (we complained when someone asked us if we needed anything), and then instead of returning the check to us she handed it off to one of her colleagues to give to us.  I don't know about you, but not everyone is going to be OK with handing over a $500 corporate phone to a random stranger, security locks in place or not.  The passive-aggressive, underhanded way the check was returned to us did not impress us either.

Mercy used to be great, but not any more.  In 2008, I could not have recommended it enough, in 2013, I cannot recommend you stay away more.  

I've been to Mercy more times than I can count and its been a slow slide down hill.  The wine is still top notch, the food is still very good, the service is the problem.  

The past few times we've gone, the service has been unsteady at best, and last night it was even worse.  We came away from dinner not having any idea who our server was among the ~4 different people that interacted with us.  This sort of unsteady service has been a hallmark of the past few visits we've made to Mercy.  

I'm not counting this as part of my 2 stars for Mercy, but the parking situation is absolutely HORRIBLE.  You're basically forced to valet park, or fight for one of the ~5 nearby spots, or park football fields away from Mercy and walk.  The valets block off virtually all the nearby parking spots, even if they barely have any cars in them.  Just an added insult, that makes Mercy even less appealing than their service already makes them.
