For the Downtown/China Town area, there really is not better restaurant or drinking hole!  Murphy's has been around for a long time, has a prominent location off of Merchant Street, and has some awesome, old town New York style architecture and décor.
Ah, but it's the food and drink that drive traffic to Murphy's. Â You must make a lunch-time reservation or you may stand around watching everyone else eat for up to 60-minutes. Â They have a great selection of booths or stand-alone tables in essentially three separate rooms. Â The ambiance is rustic, the food is too in many ways, and the service as always been top-shelf. Â
I went there recently with a few of by Bank friends for after work drinks and pupus. Â Their Happy Hour prices were very reasonable, and the crowds relatively young and hip. Â
Murphy's has a special place in my heart because of their willingness to help others. When Aloha Airlines closed, me and my many friends that suddenly lost our careers were hosted by Murphy's for an outdoor street festival and fundraiser. Â That's class, and that's typical of the folks who own the place.
I'm a fan, I'm a customer, and I'm an advocate of Murphy's Bar & Grill!
For: the bar side
Against: restaurant service, Gaelic Steak
Other essentials: street parking all over as well as a paid lot across the street ($5 or $10)
Bar: 4 stars
Restaurant: 3 stars
I love the bar scene here - very laidback and always a good time. Good beers including ciders, good bartenders and a shuffleboard on the side. They also participate in beer weeks and specialty kegs from time to time which is fun. Downside is that people keep telling me about a happy hour but I can't find the times anywhere and haven't been lucky enough to stumble into it.
I was excited to have a dinner date here after hearing all the great things about the food. My friend suggested the Gaelic Steak so I ordered that and my dates got the Pot Roast and Shepherd's Pie. My steak was medium-well though I ordered it medium-rare and the peppercorns were extremely bitter. I think that bitterness is how the steak is supposed to taste but I wasn't a fan. It came with veggies on the side which consisted of zucchini, green beans and carrots. The green beans were way under cooked. Our server was almost nonexistent - the hostess stepped up and practically waited on us. I bumped up the stars though because the pot roast was soo delicious - topped with celery, carrots and shrooms all over mashed potatoes. Pretty heavy so don't plan on drinking all night afterwards if you eat that. We also got the jalapeno poppers as an app and the bread pudding for dessert. Both were good but uneventful.
Alright, brace yourself, here is another rage review. Â
The situation: It's First Friday's (yes, terribly crowded). Â I ordered 2 Guinness. Â I look 16 (I'm 24). Â 7 minutes into waiting I still don't have my beers. Â Boyfriend comes up and politely asks bartender where beers are. Â Bartender decides to be cocky and treats us like sh*t to excuse the fact that it took him way over 120 seconds (I state 120 seconds because while he was degrading us he specifically mentioned that it took 120 seconds to pour the prefect beer).
TL;DR version: Unprofessional service doesn't make up for crap food and atmosphere. Not an establishment worth supporting.
Friendly service and great food? YES!
I first came here about a year ago when a friend told me to meet him here and recently came back with a few other friends. Never disappointed. Haven't tried anything really on the menu but their shepherds pie is very yummy. I would definitely make the trip back here to try out the rest of the menu.
Their sit down restaurant side doesn't seem to get that busy so if you decide to walk into the bar side and get intimidated, just continue on in or walk through their other door. The bar side gets really packed but thats only a good sign of how great this place is :)
I love Murphy's. A very nice Irish Pub with a nice variety of food (not just Irish themed). It's a good place to hit and everything I've eaten has been delicious. It's my favorite place in all of China Town and definitely my favorite bar in Honolulu.
Portions are kind of big and there are a lot of beers available.
This is a great place to grab a bite or a beer. Â The menu doesn't have a huge number of items, but it's hard to go wrong with the items they offer. Â I've eaten there a few times and have always been pleased with the food. Â My wife would just eat the salmon pate for a meal if she could. Â It really is quite tasty. Â I love a good pint of Smithwicks, but I really love a cold one in a truly clean glass. Â It's the little things that make the difference between an ok bar and a good one. Â The restaurant is always busy, but never have they been so crowded that I couldn't be seated. Â The bar on the other hand is often packed. Â Did I mention great beer served cold in a very clean glass??? Â I imagine their signature drinks must be good as well, but I have as yet to try them. Â Something for the next visit. Â On a side note, the menu items aren't inexpensive as a whole. Â I do like that they break your alcohol total away from your food total whether you are in the bar or the restaurant. Â Makes it easier to decide the appropriate tip to leave.
Review Source:A rather nice Irish pub. Cozy interior in a fun, historic building. I split the shepherd's pie with a friend and had the side salad with it ($16). It was the perfect amount for us both for lunch. The vinaigrette was really good on the salad! Â The pie came in a little boat-shaped dish and was perfect. It had pieces of lamb, parsnip, carrot, mushrooms and a delicious gravy under the blanket of mashed potatoes. Â It was well-made and was a lovely comfort food meal.
Review Source:After all my years of hitting up the Chinatown bars, I somehow never made it to Murphy's Bar & Grill until recently. I had dinner with @Jon K. and was pleasantly surprised at the space; it really makes you feel like you're in some far away place outside of Hawaii. A mini vacation, even if it was all in my head.
Ambiance aside, the food was delish! I ordered the Blarney Burger which had Guiness infused cheese...super good!
<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fs3-media1.ak.yelpcdn.com%2Fbphoto%2FGwOPB124-_NPwCROACcNGA%2Fl.jpg&s=569387de07136e89c0546fbabc93e9a20508f175a7b3c2613fefb0c0a5a91a2f" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://s3-media1.ak.yelp…</a>
The pricing wasn't cheap but not ridiculously expensive ($13 for a burger is fairly reasonable). I would definitely consider going back again to try out something else on the menu, or even to have another bite of that Blarney Burger...it was THAT good.
Went here on a Sunday around 6:00 and there was no wait and speedy service. The waiter made sure we knew the specials and he knew the menu well.
I ordered the Shepard's Pie which was very tasty, and my wife had the pot roast.
The Guiness even has a shamrock drawn into the foam!
Tasty and I will go back.
One word: the Chad.
Okay, I guess that's two, but none the less it has been a life long dream of mine (dream big, people! ;)) to have a bar where everybody knows your name... or at least the bartender.
Murphy's is a great Irish Pub in downtown Honolulu that is perfect for after work pau hana drinks. It's never too busy, but there's always just enough people there and the weekday bartender Chad is quite possibly the greatest bartender in the world. Not only does he always remember myself and my friends, but he seems to remember every other single patron that comes as well, too!
Not to take a way from the bar itself -- the food is awesome (the chicken wings are cooked perfectly, I had a bleu cheese burger that was so delicious, and a friend had a grilled ahi caesar salad that he said was super good), the drinks are stiff and there is a shuffle board table.
The only issue, as others have mentioned, would be parking. It's either street parking or parking in the lot across the street (which used to be a bargain at $5 for the whole night, but has recently increased the price to $10! craziness).
Aside from that, Murphy's is a great place to just chill, hang out with some friends, play some shuffle board, eat some food, and get to know your local bartender.
Highly recommended!
I have lunch here once a week with a game of shuffleboard. We bring our own pucks as theirs are rusted but their table is the best in Oahu. The bartender John is great, very freindly and knowledgable! Shepherds Pie is good as is Corn Beef and Cabbage and Fish and Chips. Clams are pretty good. The steaks are a very poor cut of meat and always overdone so stay away! I wish they had a genuis stew!
Review Source:So far It's my favorite bar in Hawaii. Honestly, it's probably the food that has influenced me more than anything else but hey it's that good! The food isn't all Irish. Though, diversity isn't such a bad thing, especially when done right! Â They make some killer burgers here and Murphy's fries are just wow! Most of the menu items won't disappoint. Portions are nice and big! My only real complaint about the food is the meat they cook here is dry but hey nothing a little more sauce can't fix.
Best part about this place is once you're done with dinner you can continue the night right next door! The drinks are priced right for the area, you know it being in Chinatown and all. Bartenders are cool but the feel really makes this place. You gotta check it out to see what I mean. Oh and one more thing.........SHUFFLEBOARD!
The best place in Honolulu. Period. It's a legitimate Irish Pub, with legitimate bar tenders (something you'll be hard pressed to find in places like Waikiki). They don't treat you like a tourist, they have fantastic shepherds pie, an awesome beer selection with rotating seasonal drafts. The barkeeps are knowledgeable and friendly. I almost want to give this place a bad review so it doesn't get out, but I can't bare it. I love this bar. (quick side note, you know you're at a legit pub when there's a coffee pot brewing).
Review Source:Don't get me wrong, I'm all for local food. Â But sometimes it's nice to try something... different. Â And Murphy's certainly delivers in that respect! Â I love this place. Â It's in a part of Chinatown that's not run down, which makes it nice. Â It's situated close to Aloha Tower and is very cozy upon entering. Â It's a small little venue, but I wouldn't call it a hole-in-the-wall because it's kept up pretty well, considering.
I recently went there for a birthday party with some friends. Â My waitress was a beautiful redhead who was sassy and fun! Â She made my birthday experience that much better. Â I love the fish and chips here, and their specials are out of this world. Â I had their baked chicken and mashed potatoes, and everything, right down to the vegetables, were savory.
There were about 15 of us for my birthday, and making the reservation was easy. Â I thought it would be much more of a hassle considering the large party that would be there. Â It was fast and we all enjoyed ourselves. Â Murphy's is one of my favorites on the island. Â I tell everyone I know about this place!
Woohoo!!! I finally got the chance to check out Murphy's! Anyway, we celebrated my birthday here a few weeks ago, and everyone loved it! Hmm... I guess a lot of it had to do with the good company and drinks (heh!), but the place, along with the comfy atmosphere and friendly staff definitely played a part as well! I absolutely love the interior decor of the restaurant, with its high ceilings and old-fashioned fixtures. I know a lot of folks rave about their food, but I thought the food was just okay... standard pub/bar fare, which gets the job done when you're tipsy/toasty! I had their blarney burger, which wasn't anything spectacular. I also sampled their infamous corned beef cabbage, which wasn't bad, but it didn't wow me either (perhaps I'm just not a fan of Irish dishes... a little too bland for my tastes, no offense haha). The fish and chips were decent - fish was battered and fried perfectly. Oh, and FYI, their fries are the skinny kind (which I'm not a huge fan of); they're almost on the verge of shoestring potatoes skinny. The chicken wing appetizers, on the other hand, were quite tasty! Lastly, the Guinness was good (lol!), and the bartenders pour them just right. One of the bartenders even drew a clover in the foam like latte art! Cute. ;D
Final verdict: despite the so-so food (which probably just depends on one's preferences/tastes), I had a really great time here and would definitely return!
Made a last minute decision to come here. Figured we were downtown anyway, so wanted to check out something new and different.
I came here once with a classmate when I was attending school in the area. Not much changed from the last time I been here.
Whoever the waiter was this time, he was junk. He was an older gentleman but he just seemed to keep forgetting us or something. It was really annoying.
It took forever to get his attention for the check and to get his attention for him to pick up our card to run it. He also got our order wrong. We said we didn't want the calamari when we were ordering, but he brought it out anyway -_-. We took it because the damage was done, but we really didn't want it. Â
The Grub:
CALAMARI ($10.50) I really liked how big the calamari pieces were. However I wish it had been crispier. But that is just how I prefer my calamari.

FISH & CHIPS ($12.75) Super delish! I also really really liked the French fries that it came with. They were made just the way I liked them and I seriously could not get enough of them! Ha-ha.

SALMON PATE ($10) Definitely my favorite now! This dish is basically a salmon spread that you put on some toasted bread. I LOVE salmon so Im a sucker for this dish!

OVERALL: I think this is a great place to grab a bite to eat. Especially if you want something different. I feel like I'm always eating Asian food, so this was definitely nice for a change.
After the Hawaii Cocktail Week Jim Beam tasting we decided to have something to eat. I always wanted to try some of the food here and what a better time with all this whiskey in me.
First of all I love the cozy atmosphere of this place and love sitting at the bar enjoying the friendly bartenders. Of course I had to try the Shepard's pie along with a good draft beer. The Shepard's pie was simply wonderful and seasoned perfectly <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/murphys-bar-and-grill-honolulu?select=mXO7vlg5dRTGazVtLSe-bQ#6Y-xfmL3mUd6Ws8b9cZhfA">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
The bartender recommended we try the Mixed Berry Pie. Now who can say "No" to freshly made pie topped with ice cream, I surely can't!! <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/murphys-bar-and-grill-honolulu?select=mXO7vlg5dRTGazVtLSe-bQ#DCF_emaSY_prf0pDxN4Bxw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
The sweet and tartness of this pie hit the spot!
Murphy's...I will be back for more! What a great place!
We stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant right before a show at the Hawaii Theatre Center. It was the perfect place since it was only a two short blocks away from  the theatre. Upon walking in, I noticed a great, classic interior that you just don't normally see in Hawaii. High ceilings and rich decor make you feel like you're not in Hawaii. Tons of big screen TVs playing sports were all over. Still...with all the noise from the bar, it was still a great place to bring kids. The waitress was kind enough to give my kids a cup of crayons and some paper for them to draw with. I really didn't expect that at a pub =)
Hubs has been here many times, but doesn't remember any of them since he was drunk for every single one of them..so it was really a first experience for all of us.
We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter was so genuinely friendly and upbeat! Very refreshing! I noticed that there were two items on the menu that were actually showcased on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives". I had to try one of them. If it's good enough to be on TV..it's good enough for me. One of the items was a new york steak...but I wasn't feeling like steak before a show, so I settled on the other. Shepard's Pie was truly better than the ones I've had in Europe! The mashed potatoes were perfectly cooked and lightly browned on the top. Underneath the pillow of mashed potatoes, was a great concoction of tender lamb, celery, mushrooms, garlic, and a great stew like broth. Mixing the mashed potatoes and stew together with every bite is the best way to take advantage of this dish! A must try!!!
Hubs got the corned beef and cabbage. It was good...nothing to do cartwheels for.
We also got fish and chips for the kids and they hummed along as they ate..which is always a good sign. I stole a few bites of the fish..just to cleanse my palate and I wanted to steal their dish!
The perfect ending to our delicious meal was an apple crisp a la mode for dessert. Boy oh boy did we tear into it! The vanilla ice cream atop was creamy and it it just meshes well with the warm apples on the bottom layer. My favorite was the crumbly crust between it...crunchy, cinammony heaven!!! With each spoonful, try to get a bit of each of the three layers to get a little apple pie orgasm in your mouth! I will say their dessert menu lacked originality. The choices were very plain...sundae, sherbet, kona ice cream, apple crisp. We can get this at Denny's. Offer us something we can't get everywhere. I will say that all their dessert options are inexpensive 6-7$.
I wish it was Friday rather than Sunday, because they've got Pie Fridays in which the Mrs. of this joint makes pies all day on Thursdays to sell on Friday. Apparently she makes all sorts of pies and they're amazing from what I've heard. Guess I'll have to come back on Friday!
This Irish bar and grill seems to be popular and crowded on Friday nights (and weekends). Decent selection of beers and spirits. If busy it gets really noisy.
The food is average. I got Gaelic steak there once (which is New Yorker) which was average, Chicken burger with fries (OK) and few appetizers (OK as well).
Parking might be a problem - street parking is first come-first served and across the street there is an overpriced private parking lot.
Summary: if you want to spend a good time with few friends and have some drinks (with a bar food), you will like Murphy's. If you're looking for a cuisine, don't go in there.
The drink menu is extensive and food menu, while basic pub fare, is bountiful. Â The kitchen pays very close attention to all special orders and in four years of eating at this fine establishment I've never had a bad meal. Â
The food and drink are phenomenal, the ambiance is classic pub, there's shuffleboard and restaurant or bar seating but the real linch pin is the staff. Â Guys like John and Chad there always have a smile on their face and remember the regulars. Â This place is great for an afternoon pint, a great birthday party or just a regular night out. Â
I'd suggest the fish & chips, the rosemary lamb chops when on special or the gaelic burger.
"Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." Murphy's Law
My brother and I went to this bar and grill after seeing people cheering us on while running the Honolulu Marathon two weeks ago. I was impressed that the patrons stayed up all night to cheer us on at 5am in the morning, drinking beer. Anyway, we only ordered two beers and the Irish nachos, they were just meh. This place reminded me of bars I've been to on mainland, with tons of haoles. The beers were priced "okay" not too cheap, not too expensive. May go back here when my buddies from the mainland come to visit me here.
Yelp Challenge: 31/365
Let me start off by saying that I'm a huge fan of ANY Irish bar . . .  or any bar for that matter . . . but . . . Murphy's is, by far, one of the best ones I've been to.  Strategically situated downtown on the corner of Merchant and Nuuanu, its an easy  walking distance for folks located in Chinatown and the downtown business district.
Typical Irish fare abounds: Â Corn-beef and cabbage, Reuben, blarney burger, Shepard's pie, you name it, they have it. Â They also have some interesting non-traditional food: curry, pastas and fish & chips. Â They have a good selection of beers on tap, from stout beers to light.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting and at lunch, it can get really busy, so make a reservation if you have a good size group.
This place deserves for than a four if you don't drink beer. They have home cooked meals that have freshness and flavor that is evident in each dish they prepare. I have never had a bad meal here and I have had plenty. The corned beef is a winner!!! Juicy and flavorful. The shepherd's pie and turkey sandwich also can not be beat.
Beer... Well all the typicals but nothing to get a beer guy excited. The good news is they are right across from Toole's which is one of my favorite pubs.
This was another selection based upon Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. We were on a Princess Cruise and were at port for the evening. We wanted to find something a little different than the cruise food, and of similar quality.
I was very pleased with our dinner. The beef dipped sandwiches they recommended were excellent with a spicy bite that was palatable even for us lightweight spice eaters.
The service was a touch slow, but very pleasant and responsive. The restaurant is British pub style. I enjoyed our dinner and would recommend it to even cruisers who want a meal out-of-the-box just a bit.
Being in Hawaii for a while sooner or later you are going to hear about Murphy's. Especially if you watch Diners, Drive ins and Dives with that Crazy guy with white hair. After watching that episode I knew that the shepherd's pie was awesome and so was their open face turkey sandwhich. In the group that I came in two of guys ordered those two dishes so I got the irish dip instead. I also got a glass of champagne there. To my surprise it wasn't a glass. It was champagne in a can. With a straw. Surprisingly it was decent but I didn't really want champagne from a can. Thats why I came to a restaurant. Â My friends ended up ordering the Killian's and Guiness. They said it was poured perfectly and delicous. The food was really good. I wasn't feeling well so I picked at it and then took most of it to go. Even when my food was cold it still really awesome.
Over all, the drinks and food was amazing but the service was not that great. Our waitress was snotty. And when it came time for our check she didn't even ask she just plopped it down on the table and stalked off. She didn't even ask if we wanted a refil for our drinks. After we finally got her back we asked her if she could split the check she then got huffy and rolled her eyes and stomped off again. If she would have asked before getting our checks ready she woudn't have to redo them. Even though we had extremely horrible service I'll still give this place 5 stars. That's how great the food is.
According to Murphy's Law:
"Anything that can go wrong will go wrong".
Recently, I was invited by a friend to join himself and his co-workers for drinks after work at Murphy's. Â Of course, accepting the invite was a no-brainer for me since I was still on vacation, but at the same time though I had heard of Murphy's I myself had never been there before. Â I asked my friend for directions and where to park, and thanks to yelp I was also provided with their address and website. Â As I was driving, I was skeptical whether I would get lost or not, and thankfully I was not affected by Murphy's Law as I found Murphy's Bar without great difficulty.
I have to admit I wasn't sure what to expect walking into Murphy's, but I was pleasantly surprised by its welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and terrific customer service. Â I was part of a group of 6, and we were grateful to have a bar table to ourselves amongst the after work crowd.
PARKING: Â There is street parking OR there is a pay lot that is located diagonally across from the bar. Â If you choose the pay lot, select the "evening" pay option priced at $5, that way you won't have to worry about paying hourly. Â Also, make sure to place your ticket on your dashboard before leaving your car.
FOOD:
1) Â Irish Dip (thin slices of sirloin on a baguette with horseradish mayonnaise, served with Guinness au gus): Â One of my favorite dishes of the evening! Â I think it's the dip that makes the sandwich a true winner in taste and satisfaction. Â Give it a try!
2) Â Salmon Pate with minced onions, capers, and sour cream with toasted rounds: Every person I was with had tried this on a previous visit, and I received some very rapid encouragement by all to try it. Â This was quite good! Â I enjoyed it very much and would definitely recommend this dish.
3) Â Fried spicy wings with ranch dressing: Â Believe it or not we ordered 2 of these! Â They were not too spicy in my opinion and the side of ranch dressing is very generous as well. Â
4) Â Basket of fries: Â Served hot and crispy, just the way french fries should be served.
SERVICE: Â Terrific! Â The main bartender and his helpers were very friendly, polite, outgoing, and humorous. Â They were very approachable and easy to speak with despite the crowded bar that evening.
NOTE: Â Orders for drinks and food must be placed with the bartender. Â There is no server/waitress walking around taking orders.
NEXT VISIT: Â I wouldn't mind trying their corned beef and cabbage.
Bottom Line: Â Now that I can find my way, I will readily visit Murphy's in the future if invited.
Love this place! I brought my parents here while they were in town on vacation, a little bit afraid that their Irish cuisine wouldn't live up to our expectations--being Irish and all ;) Well, we all left there quite pleased with VERY full bellies!
I'm not a beer person, but my dad enjoyed his. All three of us had corned beef and cabbage, and it was really good--much better than I was expecting! It came out piping hot, soft and with most of the fat shaved off (ick), alongside cabbage, mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. It was a pretty hefty serving and surprisingly inexpensive ($15). Desserts were awesome, too!
Next time I head here (sometime this week), I'm going to order the shepherd's pie and hope it's as delicious as the corned beef.
A few notes:
-Awesome downtown location. We could walk, but there's also paid-parking right across the street.
-The people who work there actually look Irish, which makes it feel authentic (not to mention, I actually fit in somewhere!).
-The interior is really nice and spacious. We were there on a week night and there was no wait, but weekends could be a different story.
I adore Murphy's. I always bring out of towners here for an awesome treat. The atmosphere is incredible. I love their decor and brick walls. The service is always fantastic. The waitresses and hostess are always SO kind and courteous and usually very outgoing. The food is to die for. Sometimes they'll have interesting menu specials (I once ate alligator here!) but their corn beef and cabbage is like no other! I always find myself ordering just that every single time. But everything else on their menu is delicious as well.
On the other side is a bar. They make fantastic drinks... I'm always picky about my whiskey and coke and the important balance of both when you mix them... but they always seem to get it just right.
Whether you're dining alone or with friends, Murphy's always offers a relaxing atmosphere that bound to make anyone comfortable.
The 2012-2013 UH football season officially started at Murphy's Bat and Grill. Â A couple of friends had invited me to join them at Murphy's to catch the first Norman Chow UH football game. Â Haven't been a while since I had some delicious Irish beer, I took them up on their offer.
I was actually really surprised to see that the restaurant/bar was not as crowded as I thought it would be for UH game. Â There seemed to be a fair amount of UH fans already there watching all the pregame stuff. We were able to find a seat fairly quick and I made sure I had a good view of one of the many flat screen TVs.
While sitting there I the waitress was quick to take my drink order and I was all ready for the kick off. Â I'm not a huge fan of Guinness, but I am definitely a fan of the red ales. Â I asked for Killian's but that was a no-go. Â On the plus side they had Smithwick on draft which is the lesser known red ale Irish beer. Â And within a few minutes my beer was here, nice and cold and frothy. Â
Since we were watching the game we thought that ordering a few pupus to pick on would be the best strategy. Â We ordered a full order of wings and some sliders. Â The wings weren't anything spectacular but with a beer and football, it did its job. Â Something about being in an Irish bar/pub gave me the urge to order some fish and chips. Â The food came out fairly quickly and as good as it could be. Â The fish and chips portion was pretty good. Â The order came with fries (chips) and four fish pieces. Â I was happy since I feel like fish and chips always come in threes. The sliders were also pretty good as they were pretty beefy and thick. Â The sliders were topped with simple yet effective pickles and cheese. The beef patties were slightly on the "dry" side but the girth of the patty more than made up for that. Â
This was the perfect atmosphere to watch the game since the place wasn't too crowded, the wait staff was on it, and there were very few USC fans. Â (I think there was only one group). Â The UH fans were still very welcoming and showed lots of ALOHA when watching the game with them. Â I would definitely recommend Murphy's for your next Monday Night Football game or just a happy hour to get some smooth and refreshing Irish draft beers. Â
The only downside is the parking situation. Â There is a public lot across the street or you can take your chances with meter parking in Downtown. Â Best of luck to you all and "CHEERS" to an exciting 2012=2013 College and Professional football season!!
Go WARRIORS! and TB BUCCANEERS!!!
Loved it! Â And not just because Guy told me to eat here. The atmosphere is awesome and suits the Irish pub atmosphere. My husband has the Guinness with the always cool shamrock design in the foam. I went for the bloody Mary and I must say....it was the MOST DELICIOUS bloody Mary I have ever had! Â Sooooo good! Â It gets 6 stars.
We had the Irish nachos for a pupu, potato skins covered in corn beef, cabbage, and cheese....wonderful. Â I had the open face Turkey sandwich that was yummy and made even more spectacular with the cranberry sauce- I don't know what they put in there but it is literally the best I've ever eaten. Thanksgiving anyday!
You know it's a good night when you forget to close out your check and retrieve your credit card... Yup. Â Last night, I became pretty distracted with a couple of games of intense shuffle board, beers,... and forgot my credit card. Â Oops.
I have only played shuffle board once before, but had so much fun playing it! Â At first watching it, I wondered why people were screaming, and jumping over some silly game. Â But then I became that person. Â Ooh the taste of victory is so good when you knock off your opponent's game piece! Â haha. Â The people at the bar are all cool and friendly. Â They'll most likely teach ya how to play if you don't already know how to.
The atmosphere here is great with Irish draft knobs for decoration, and other Irish decor. Â Very friendly, very laid back. Â Pretty Irish if you ask me!! Â :)
Service is awesome. Â Props to the EXCELLENT bartenders!
I hear the food is great here, will be back to try it!! Â Can't wait!
4.5 stars.
Had a very pleasant dinning experience the other night. Â Like returning home to your mother's cooking (if she was Irish).
Had the Gaelic Steak covered in a delectable pepper sauce that was outrageous: Â 4.5 stars. Â Simple, no fuss, no pretension. Â The best steak I've had in a long while.
Friend had the famous Corned Beef & Cabbage that was so lean and exploding with flavor, just perfect: Â 4.5 stars.
Homemade pies were dwindling, but our superb waitress managed to finagle and set aside a blueberry version. Â I could have kissed her on the lips when she brought it to our table topped with luscious homemade vanilla ice cream, oh boy! Â Brilliant natural blueberry sweetness with a cinnamon crust, just dreamy: Â 4.5 stars!
I always love coming here for some good 'ole comfort food at its best!
