Great sandwiches in the back of a convenience store. Â We had a veggie sub sandwich and an eggplant hot sandwich. Â Both were delicious! Â Being in a convenience store there are a ton of drink and chip options, but we opted for the Greek-like prepared salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, feta... yummy! Â Glad we found this sport before heading to the airport.
Review Source:Alot of hype to this place but honestly the sandwiches are OK but for a newbie walking in the counter person was very rude and wanted me to order quickly , I guess since a lot of the same people go to this place on a weekly basis they treat people with some sort of edge .overall I rather go to the garden deli 2 miles away or laspada near by at least the customer service is way better .the seating is limited inside the store and 90 percent of the time somebody is looking at how they wanna connect with the sandwich you just purchased lol .not for me sorry.
Review Source:I found this place via yelp, and I am glad I did. Â We did as a reviewer said and stopped on the way to the airport. Â The place in no way looks as bad as some of the reviewers say, meaning, I wouldn't be scared to go in from the appearance outside. Â It was clean , landscaped and had a cute little patio out back. Â We all ordered sandwiches and bought some cookies and stocked up on snacks for the airport and the flight as we were anticipating a delay. Â I had the Spicy Italian Sub, it was the BEST sub I have ever had. Â The meat was sliced nice and thin, the pepper condiment they used was tasty with just the right amount of spice and the bread was to die for. Â My cousins are plain kind of girls and they ordered lunch meat and cheese and were happy, especially with the bread. Â The price to me was on point for the quality that they are delivering. Â There were policemen in there eating which to me is always a sign of a good deli/restaurant. Â There was just one weird thing that happened. Â The menu is big, this was our first time there. Â We were standing there reading the menu and trying to decide what we wanted and a man came out from behind the deli counter, moved a display of chips over and was just standing there with a pen and a pad, Â he said nothing, after a minute he seemed annoyed and said, what do you want to order. Â Well we didn't know that he was waiting to take our order? Â I have never seen in a deli a man come out from behind the deli counter and take your order, which is fine, but then don't stand there and say nothing and then act upset. Â I wished I would have not felt rushed to order I would have ordered more, especially a sandwich to take home to my boyfriend he would have loved it. Â I was very very happy with my order though and HIGHLY recommend that for anyone whole wants a perfect sandwich to stop in there.
Review Source:I have been to My Market a bunch of times and usually order one of their specials. Most recently, I had a roasted veggie sub on chibatta - which was amazing!
I like the fact you can pick from a huge variety of beverages and chips, although the price adds up quickly since you do not get a "meal deal" (correct me if I'm wrong)...
The establishment itself looks like (well, it is) a convenience store, with a deli counter in the back. It gets VERY busy with locals during lunch time, which usually indicates a "good place to eat"...
Definately suggest you give this place a try!
Good subs and food. Filthy unsanitary place. Â Don't look closely behind the deli counter! Yikes.... You'll watch sandwich makers with bare hands and disgusting nails preparing your food. I didn't know what to do... I tossed my sandwich in a trash can down the road because I kept seeing imagines of the disgusting conditions behind the counter...
Review Source:I love this little hidden gem in Fort Lauderdale. Â
Located in the back of a convenience store, this little deli serves up some of the best quality and best tasting subs around. Â Very deceiving if you didn't know any better. Â Admittedly though, the prices are a little high here. Â
Busiest around lunch, customers sit elbow to elbow at two rows of tables and chairs set up in the back of the store for people to enjoy their vittles. Â I'm a huge fan of the Sicillian SubRosa. Â I get it on wheat and it is stuffed with tons of fresh prociutto, mortadella, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and is coated in a balsamic vinegarette that they call "Want Mo' Sauce." Â The whole subs are huge, but are so good, you'll stuff your face with it.
A definite stop off for a great lunch.
One of the best sandwich shops in Fort Lauderdale. Â I know people love Laspada's and they are good but I believe overhyped. Â This place is hidden in the back of a convenience store but don't let that fool you the deli is spot on.
I usually get an Italian pizzaesque sub I sort of customize but their daily sandwich specials are unique and creative.
They use Boarshead meats and everything is very fresh.
I have to agree with the rest of the reviews. The place looks sketchy from the outside, but its exactly as it should be inside. A complete throw back to the local corner store deli. I wish that places like this could have a revival in cities and towns all over the country. The full sub prices are a little steep but the half is more than enough for one human, so give it a shot. There is an unlimited selection of drinks and extras b/c its a conveniece store too. Mostly Boars head meats and fresh Breads by cusano's I think, Pretty awesome.
Review Source:Stopped in to grab a coffee and a granola bar on my way to work. I had never been in here before. I saw some good beers in the cooler, so I checked them out. They have a pretty decent selection - 2 different varieties of Dogfish Head, Dale's Pale Ale, couple of Sierra Nevada varieties and other stuff. Not bad! They also seemed to have a nice selection of different foods, even gourmet, and they have a deli in the back with a dude making sandwiches and whatnot. 4 stars...until I got to the register. $10 minimum on credit or debit purchases. Not very convenient for a convenience store, I must say! Also the cashier wasn't really nice about it. I had to use the ATM before making my purchase. Lame! 2 stars. Average it out to 3. Still might come back to get some beers because I live nearby...
Review Source:This is a gem of a little place. A neighborhood deli located in what is a small convenience store. You order your whatever, wait for you name to be called, or just sit down at what are two long rows of tables to wait for your name to be called. The chances are you will be seated right next to someone else since the place is popular, and for good reason.
They specialize in subs, various hot and cold sandwiches, pizza, and have a rather extensive menu selection (roughly 30 sub and sandwiches) from which to choose. They advertise as items of "Local Flavor," but most menu items decidedly lean toward Italian. I had a delicious hot sopressatta/proscuitta with cheese, red pepper, lettuce and sauce on a pannia bread along with a Boylan's root beer for a mere $11.46, which is a real deal. My partner had a sub with all the fixing and Coke for $9.20, which was another bargain considering all of the fresh ingredients and the size of the serving.
This is a neighborhood place, so it is all very, very simple. There is nothing dolled up about this place, but it does serve some of the best sandwiches in all of the Fort Lauderdale area.
What a breath of fresh air. Drive, don't take the Subway, to this little market/sub shop and forget those "Less than 6 grams of fat" ads (yeah, it's easy to have low fat when they make subs with no flavor). Â My Market serves up sandwiches with interesting twists that taste good. Â And they are huge. Â Nice folks, good food, good price. Â And get a Lotto ticket on the way out. Â Can you find that on the Subway?
Review Source:The best subs in town! It's a little hard to find, and the seating can get a little crowded during lunch time, but it's more than worth the wait. There are many specialty subs, all of which are worth trying. My favorite is definitely the French Quarter - a delicious mix of roast beef and brie cheese on a baguette.
Review Source:Hands down the best sandwich in town. This place has a huge selection and while I can only speak for the chicken breast special, which was awesome, they all sound great. Be sure to grab a card to get stamped for each sandwich because you'll definitely be making return trips. Also, try the homemade choc chip cookies. All around great place and like all the previous reviews say, don't let the fact that it's in a convenience store fool you
Review Source:I have been frequenting My Market for several years now. Â Don't let the location or building keep you from trying this place out! Â The best things to get here are their specialty sandwiches. Â I have several favorites: Needle's Eye, The Wave, The Saxon Press.. I could go on and on about these sandwiches! Â
During lunch they are busy, so try calling ahead.
This is a interesting place situated inside a neighborhood convenience store. I ordered a small smoked turkey breast sub with swiss. I walked around the little store and bought a water and some chips. After they called my name to picked the sub up at the back counter, I walked back up front bought some lotto tickets, paid for my meal, and off I went.
I took the sub back to the office and chowed down. The sub was ok, nothing fancy. The two things they do different are if you order oil and vineger on the sub they use balsamic instead of red vineger. I like red vineger better. They also use diced red onions instead of white. The red onions have a stronger flavor which I'm not sure if I like on my subs either. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but it's worth a try.
Remember to tell them Dan sent you for a sub and some lotto tickets. Stay Hungry!
How can it be that My Market Deli has zero reviews? It's only one of the busiest and best hidden gem lunch places in Fort Lauderdale! Tucked away literally in the rear of a convenience store this place will take you back for a second when you first walk in but don't let the looks deceive you. Once you make it back to the deli counter you will be impressed with the selection of prepared foods under the glass and a sandwich menu full of old stand bys as well as a whole list of imaginative specialty sandwiches . With fresh baked breads, specialty sauces, and the freshest of ingredients it's a challenge just making up your mind what to order. Can't miss favorites are the "Monster" sub, the "Colossal" club, and my personal favorites the Grilled Rueben on Rye Bread or the Asian Style BBQ Pork Sandwich with Wasabi Slaw! Say hey to Jimmy who's usually at the counter taking orders and don't be shy; he'll make you feel welcome and once you try the food you'll wonder how it is that you've never heard of this place before.
