The Office Bar

I should've turned around after the first sign of a bad night:

The bouncer told us the cover was free and then the wristband girl charged us $5 each (at 1am, mind you theres only 1 hr left open) and gave us the worst attitude when we told her that we were told differently about the cover and weren't paying.

Upstairs was only about 35% full, the music was decent. A few odd, and unsuitable choices here and there, but overall okay for a club scene.

After sitting at the empty bar for a couple of minutes and being ignored by all the bartenders, I waved someone down and finally I ordered my first drink, whiskey and a diet coke.

Fifteen-twenty minutes later I ordered my friend a Sex on the Beach. The bartender told me he was "shitfaced" and "really drunk" approximately 6 or 7 times. And had me repeat my order of just a simple Sex on the Beach FOUR TIMES before he could remember long enough to start grabbing the appropriate mixers.

His bar tending skills flopped. The drink was terrible, not even close to being a SotB & had to be replaced by a sober bar tender. Not worth $15... can't believe I tipped too.

It was around this time frame when either a bar patron or bartender slipped something into my drink. I maybe took my eye off my cup for 20 seconds, if even that (I know, this should've never happened) and I didn't watch the drunk bartender mix together my drinks (also, stupid move).

In less than 20 minutes (around 1:50-2am) I began blacking in and out and violently throwing up. I lost all control of my motor functions and was severely convulsing while my temperature steadily dropped. These agonizing side effects lasted until sunrise the next day. I spent the day battling the worst migrane I've ever experienced, extreme nausea and a set of bruised ribs/diaphragm from the violent contractions of my dry heaving and puking.

I'm lucky I had my friends and family around to look after me. They said they have never seen me so debilitated and gone. They also remember a group of sketchy guys hanging on the corner outside the Office just down the street from us where I was getting sick. Don't know if its relatable, but the crime did take place inside The Office.

I hate that this happened to me, but I'm glad it did, because now I'm more aware of my surroundings and the level of CREEP in BR. As of now, I plan on never going back to The Office.

Management needs to get things together. Stop letting your bartenders get completely wasted during their shift and hire security that actually pays attention to the club floor and recognizes the importance of protecting women from predators.

Against my will/consent I unknowingly consumed a drug that is 10x's stronger than Valium and I suffered very real, painful consequences that could've resulted in my death.

Whoever you are, I hope you realize how detrimental and demented your actions are. Stop preying on women and drugging them. You could've ended my life that night & you will continue to harm others if you don't stop and get help. God bless your soul...

The office is a good place if you are dressed up and going out on 3rd street. The bar itself is very nice and they throw great events form time to time. The biggest problem can be the crowd. It can be a bit too much Jersey Shore at times, but overall I enjoy going there.

This and City Bar are about as close to a club as Baton Rouge gets

in regards to the woman below about the pepper spray incident... i worked here for about a year and three months and absolutely none of the security guys ever had pepper spray. The security officers outside that patrol the streets might... but none of the bouncers.

Loved working here! If you like a good DJ and a classy atmosphere, mixed age crowd, and a place where you can get dressed up and have fun (extreme opposite of tigerland) you should definitely check it out!
