P.S. Bangkok

I never thought I'd have to write a review like this.

So on Saturday (March 2) I came here for my birthday dinner with 4 other friends. I had spoken to a lady the day before about gluten-free options for my friend and she said they would cook something special due to her dietary restrictions. Around 7:45PM the server takes our order and when we asked about the gluten-free options, no one knows what we are talking about.  Strike 1.

My friend orders the dreamy creamy crab appetizer and an amaretto sour. The server completely forgot to serve my friend the amaretto sour, she waited 20 minutes for one drink. Frustrated, she just got a beer. Strike 2.

There was a bunch of confusion with our orders. The crab appetizer never came (even though they told us it would only take less than 5 mins to make). We ordered two vegetable pad cee yews, but only got one pad cee yew, and it was chicken. Everyone else got their food at 9PM, and my friend and I didn't get our vegetables pad cee yews til15 minutes later. (Strike 3) The vegetables were way too big and the broccoli wasn't even good. Grant it the noodles were good, but the amount of time we waited was ridiculous. We were on a time crunch and some of my friends traveled from over an hour away to have dinner, only to wait a ridiculous amount of time for service.

The cook/owner came out to tell us what happened at the end of our meal and apologized. It was nice, however the place wasn't even packed and she didn't tell us what was happening until after it happened. Some communication along the way would have been nice to let us know what was going on. They did not even offer a discount for the bad service. The owner told me that it's usually not like this, and I did feel her sincerity. However, this was just an awful dining experience.

I am being generous with the rating,one star because I like the owner, and another star because the noodles were good. She told us to come back again, however despite the food tasting good I'm just hesitant to come back because of the overall dining experience.

Everything is great....hard to choose one menu item above the others.  Owner, Miss Sue, runs the restaurant personally everyday, and is the nicest person you will ever meet!

I am no Thai food expert. For years if I ate Thai I wouldn't even feel comfortable getting pad thai, that's how bad it is. Lately I am starting to get a little more comfortable and will eat curry. It's crazy. I know.

A large group of my friends recently went to PSB and it was great. I had the panang curry with chicken, and it had just the right amount of heat and creaminess. The portion wasn't huge, so I pretty much cleaned my plate, though I do wish it came with a little more rice to soak up all the sauce.

The piece of advice I have is, if you go with a large group and decide to not split it evenly, everyone needs to pay attention to what they ordered and the cost. When the bill comes out it doesn't say "panang curry with chicken" it says a code, so you can't easily find how much you owe.
