Completely unaffordable club and it's very small. We only went in because they gave us free entrance. The music is ok but no place to sit unless you are VIP. Drinks mediocre. I had a grey goose with tonic: $14. A bud light: $8.00. Not a place to go drink...unless you can afford those prices. Last time I go.
Review Source:I ran in a Mud Run and got a free voucher to go here.... Â And I'm really sorry that I actually went to see what it was like! Â I would've had an easier time had someone told me a story about it and then at the end said "Just don't go!" Â
However, I suppose it all depends on what your "taste" is. Â When I went, I arrived at 10pm which is when it was supposed to be open, but no one was allowed in because of some sort of "party" going on.... Â Who knows if it was real or not! Â Then finally 2 hours later, I somehow got in, though they gave a hard look at me as if to say "Throw away the free ticket you have there and give me money!" Â Seriously, to pay to get into a place like this? Â Ugh. Â It was so loud I couldn't even hear myself think! Â So loud in fact that you couldn't even hear the music! Â (Crappy music choices by the way!) There was so much smoking and the room was so crowded that I could barely breathe. Â Getting from one end to the other of this place was like crossing a battle field! Â Terrible, awful, and in all respects lousy! Â
Save yourself from a crappy time and a "I wish I hadn't gone" dissapointment. Â Just go somewhere else! Â Remember that you were warned!
This place is caca. I've been going here for years and I always used to have such a nice time. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I find it intolerable that a place would charge $20 to enter even for girls ("$30 if you want to go to the other connecting club") and not even play what they are known for playing. Um... You are not in South Beach. Techno music with a Beyonce song in the background is NOT hip hop. And rude staff that talks to each other more than they serve drinks is a no no. Last time there and it's the end of an era I'm ready to leave behind. Just my humble opinion and well, such is life.
Review Source:20 something crowd  young 30s.  Diverse ethnicities. Good current music.  Myself and several friends went there after a banquet that they sponsored..  I loved all the seating inside but the crowd got pretty young towards the end of the night.  Mainly hip hop and Latin music. It has a nice outside area for chitchatting if one likes. Warning- it can be a long wait to get in.  I would not go out of my way for there, but if happened to be at hard rock- I may check it out or another place in hard rock.
Review Source:Sorry, guys, but this time it has to be one star.
We came for promotional night for my fitness club, and of course we were restricted, where we can sit or how we can enter.
Not only that, but we also  were restricted how we can exit.we didn't mind to follow the rules, but a poor guy at the door had no idea how to direct us. In generAl impression, it was a complete mess. They didn't have wine at the outside bar, but we were not allowed to go inside for half an hour, because they had some kind of a  delayed party before us, so they put hundred people in a little space at the entrance where they blocked area with couches. For the rest of the night noone occupied those couches, it's just made no sense at all.
Music was bad, we went through a hallway to another club Gryphon and music was much better . Not my piece of cake.
got free passes and a free drink voucher, need to know if it's worth it. can't tell from fellow reviews, but is this the type of club aimed ONLY at men, with hired female half-naked dancers, and NO man flesh dancers?? if so, i want no part of this club! if this club does NOT have any eye candy for women, i don't care if it's free. help?
Review Source:This is attached to Gryphon and plays more hip-hop type music. This inside is not laid out very well or decorated very nice. I would still suggest this place for group for the simple fact that it is attached to Gryphon and allows for everyone in a group to find what they are looking for.
Review Source:ok so everytime I go here I'm already a lil buzzed from pregaming at my buddys house down the street, somehow go by security at gryphon, and since i'm feeling the effects I end up with another drink in my hand and the hiphop beats get the best of me and im ready to tear the club up... I always have a good time here but I think it's bc the company I'm with and my love for hip hop/rap. Dont get me wrong I'll venture ovet to next door and dance like a raver on extacy to the house beats there.Oh hardrock u r hangover central for me....and I thank ya
Review Source:Love the set up and the atmosphere here. The music is great. The bars are well placed so that if one is crowded there is one a bit further away with less of a line. This time the door guys took their jobs a little too seriously and made us wait at the ropes while letting everyone behind us in first. This was after we told them we were with a VIP group that was already inside. Otherwise it was a fun experience once again.
Review Source:I LOVE THIS PLACE. After spending some town in South Beach, we hop on to Turnpike and head over hear. There wasn't much of a line and the bouncers was nice nice enough to let my cousins, sister (who was celebrating her 18th birthday), and some friends in for free. The layout is beautiful. First there's the outside patio decorated in a festive red that leads to a bigger room blasting great pop/hip hop music. I have no idea who was the dj - BUT I LOVED THE DJ! The bar set up was great, along the side of the room and the bar far back. The bartender in the back was hitting drinks hard. And even dressed up a nice grenadine and ginger ale for the b-day girl.
It wasn't a packed night (but it was Sunday of the labor day weekend). We didn't care. All the people we met were really cool and joined us while we celebrated my little sis's bday. (I have no idea if this place even allowed 18 years old ...but she's a cute 6' tall girl and we were buying bottles so maybe that's why we had no issues?)
Similar to Gryphon review, its a great club. A lot smaller than the attached club Gryphon...
Music was great, the staff was nice, and i love the two platforms for girls to dance on (slash the ones I danced on :) ), and the layout was great. Loved the outdoor patio- nice way to cool off; again, the crowd was so so .. i'm guessing more touristy because of the location (but im not hating because I was a tourist..)..
Anyway, check it out, have fun and enjoy the place
I really had a great time at this place on Saturday! I spent my last night in FL here and had fun. We ended up not having to pay a cover, the bouncers were friendly and the music wasn't bad at all. I requested a song, and less than two minutes later, the DJ played my request. I would definitely go back there again. The whole Hard Rock area was packed and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. I'm kind of surprised that this spot doesn't have better reviews...but then again,
I've only been here once, lol.
Thank you Pangea for making my night so much fun!
Not worth the lines, hassle or the price. Â Came here for my birthday. Â We reserved a private table which was not so private- in the middle of the lounge with people walking through the area the entire night. Â The price they originally quota us was not the price on the bill. Â To top off the night, y friends' purse was stolen- the staff & manager EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL. Â I would not return.
Review Source:F this place. Last year when I was in South Florida I was out with my boys for a night of nuttiness and high falutin' but we couldn't get into Pangaea for our own industry-sponsored party due to their lame dress code! A call was placed to Amex Concierge and they couldn't reach anyone at the club.
Review Source:2.5 Stars
Dear Pangaea,
Oh goodness. Â Where do I begin. Â First, you are one HOT MESS! Â It is packed, overcrowded, and steamy in there. Â The music is all hip-hop, which is lots of fun, but that creates a lot of body heat in this very confined space called Pangaea.
You have an outside area as well, which is really where people come in through. Â The outside is just as packed as inside, only you have the added craziness that is the Door.
The bartenders are an interesting bunch, to say the least. Â Quite passionate about their jobs, but not in all aspects. Â Not always on point and takes quite a while to get a drink (compared to next door's Gryphon, where the bartenders got you before you can even say I'm back!). Â Also, avoid tossing ice cubes in their direction to get their attention... Â I witnessed that this doesn't go over well...
I won't make this a first choice to return, but I am sure I will have to come back. Â Overstuffed with no room to breathe is not my idea of having fun, but the vibe is definitely bumping... Â All depends on one's taste.
Respectfully,
Sabrina*
When I think lounge, I think martinis, plush modern furniture and ambient music. Come to Pangaea Lounge on a Saturday night and you will find that this is not the case. Â Expect to find yourself maneuvering through a sea of people in pursuit of a spot on the makeshift dance floor to claim as your own. Expect to trip over a haphazardly placed plush stool -- it's so dark and there's so many people around you couldn't see it!
My only recommendation for enjoying your time here is to hang out at the patio. While the music is decent, the patio deems itself the only place conducive to dancing comfortably. You may be judged by patio inhabitants...but who cares. There's no where else to move!
Because, like Nydia C, I had a free pass to this place, I should probably give it at least 2 stars. Â I mean, it is not that bad, is it? Â
Yes, it is. Â There is absolutely nothing remarkable about this club. Â It appears to be placed in the Hard Rock as a complete afterthought and with no continuity or planning is evident as you walk around. Â Even the ropes that are oh-so-necessary for every club in the SoFlo area have no apparent reason for them. Â Maybe that is just because there was no one waiting to get in when I went, but they still did not make any sense.
If you pay $20 to get into this place, you are an absolute tool. Â I seriously doubt that the place gets better by enough of a margin to make it worthwhile to go there. Â Do yourself a favor, and just don't.
