Why go to Papa Johns when there are plenty of other establishments that value their employees. The pizza is not particularly good, nor particularly bad, therefore going elsewhere is not a hard decision, but when you factor in the CEO's outrageous comments post election, it's hard to justify going.

8 wings instead of 10 and the price is still the same.  Not enough sauce on the pizza and will not be ordering from this place again!  Not to mention the $2.50 delivery charge and then you have to tip the driver on top of that because the $2.50 does not go to the driver!  Rather get a tombstone from the store!

Don't waste your appetite and your time!!  Called to place my order and they must have asked me to repeat my order and my delivery info (3) times.  After waiting over an hour and still no pizza, I called and asked for the manager  who could not find my order according to my delivery info.  She took down my numnber an said she would call back asap.  No call however the pizza arrived (magically) and the delivery driver stated ove the inter com:  "Papa John's--open up Now!"  Really??  He walked up with pizza in hand and was on his phone screaming away probably to his manager.  I asked him and finally told him to get off the phone and after I signed for the za, he immediately got back on phone and contunued screaming into the phone.  I told him to get off the phone and get out of this place right now or I call his manager or the cops.  He slowly made his way out still yapping away.  I called the manager who was none too helpful or receptive and said your pizza has arrived.  I complained and she said nothing but your pizza has been delivered.  By the way, the pizza was pretty terrible.  Lesson learned, order from a real pizza place -- choices are endless in town.  Papa John's -Evanston- on Benson is poorly managed and as a result, this trickle down effect - passes to all line staff.  I hope Papa J  closes this location down.  All of these reviews are pretty dismal!!

This is the worst Papa Johns ever. Ordered pizza & cheese sticks  online and paid for 3 extra pizza and 3 extra ranch so the total with tax & delivery was $29. When delivered, there was no ranch, but 4 garlic. Both the receipt and the box clearly stated ranch, so with the delivery guy there I called, and after being on hold for minutes, they hung up on me! I didn't even say anything. Then the delivery guy calls the store then tells me he is going to deliver another pizza then go back and bring me the ranch. Really?! I explained either I'd be done eating, or the pizza would be cold. And the guys working at the store are super rude. Plus, the cheese sticks for the kids were burnt! There are so many other places I could have spent $29 and gotten pleasant and accurate food. Not to mention, a couple weeks ago a Papa Johns driver from this store (we were just 5 blocks away) almost hit my kid while he was crossing the street. The guy actually sped up as if to try and scare him on purpose. Who does this? They have lost my service for good!

Trying to order for a school pizza party...a fairly large order.  As I write this, I now have been on hold for 23 minutes listening to their stupid prerecorded commercials.  Incredible.

Just ordered a pizza on the phone and what a jerk that I spoke to.  I actually apologized to him for bothering him and giving them my business.  For $20 I don't expect crappy pizza AND service. C'mon Papa, give me one or the other but not both...

    2 stars.

I got this response from Eric Brock - PJ Operations Illinois...

"Sorry for any inconvenience just use this email for your next pizza free. Please call the store when ordering."

Sounds like a canned or auto-response to me... but I'll give them another star simply because they finally responded.

I found a bit of green glitter in my slice of cheese pizza.  The staff was rude and argumentative when I brought the slice back.

Decent pizza... My go to spot just for convenience. Slices always available when I want one. The cheese sticks are so addicting! And the Cinnapie is OMG...sooooo yummy! No they aren't the best, but they are always there when I need them which counts for something.

I've ordered from this Papa Johns several times and never had a bad experience. My order has always been correct and on time. I find it unusual that others have had bad experiences.

I was expecting the worst after reading all the negative reviews;  however, I decided to roll the dice anyway and was pleasantly surprised.   I ordered a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza on Sunday.  No problem ordering and they delivered within about 45 minutes.

Nothing special about the pizza but it tasted fine and was well prepared so no complaints.  I'd order from them again.

I lived off Papa Johns from 2000-2003 in another city.
I've had the occasional overcooked pie or wrong ingredients.  It happens and is forgivable.  However, this pizza was a mess.

I was excited to walk past a Papa Johns in Evanston and got very nostalgic for bread sticks with cheese sauce.  The medium pizza that I made my girlfriend order was oddly soggy, luke warm, and tasted off.  It seemed like they had cooked it well before and kept it warm.  The bread sticks did not taste right and were burned.

How do you mess up bread sticks?  Why would you serve someone burned bread sticks?

If anyone from this store is reading this, "If it is black, you did it wrong.  Throw it out and start over."  I'd rather it have been late than never be able to convince my GF to get pizza from you again...

Delivery was fast, but the pizza was average, on the lower end. Also very pricey for the quality.

Let me reminisce for a little here. Eight to ten years ago I would have rated this location as five stars, because I could be found picking up pies from here quite often. Who could resist dipping into garlic sauce and don't forget their other tasty sauces like cheese. Thinking about it makes my tongue water.
The other night we were knee deep in good times and pizza was on our minds. Couldn't find any decent late night options on the North side, so, placed a call here and they said they could help out. Only problem is that they deliver only, no carryouts ???? WTF? No carryouts after a certain time. Couple more calls and they finally agreed to deliver it to us - on the corner. When calling in you're greeted with a recording explaining the current special, when a live person answers it's at their will to explain their current specials, although getting them to tell you about the carry out specials isn't an easy task. (For that reason I've taken a photo and posted it for you guys) We got there just as the pies came out of the oven, walked up to the door and found it open. Before we could step in one of the employees asked us to stop!, when asked why he responded "this is Papa John's!" So what the F does that mean?
We got the two pizza meal deal. Their BBQ sauce tasted pretty weird, think marinara mixed with BBQ sauce and that's what it tasted like to us. It was hard to kill that pie, the chicken was all white meat and in thick strips. The second pie had typical toppings and while it tasted good going down, it hurt coming out. Hurt like, spending the next day feeling no hunger and ill feelings causing us to run for relief. We had leftovers and I made the mistake of having it again, after the first hurt I assumed it wasn't the pizza. My second time eating it on an empty stomach confirmed the ill feelings were due to the Papa pies. Sad to say I won't return to this location nor will I have any pizza, I'll stick to the bread sticks and not at this place.  I should have read reviews first, at least two others with similar complaints of diarrhea! Based on look and taste, I'd give them four stars, but the overall ill feelings and cost, two stars would be too much.

I have had Papa John's several times and last night was my last. I was going to visit my dad and he had me stop to pick up a pizza. We had a couple slices each, stayed for about an hour and took off to my place. Right away my stomach hurt. Figured it was the grease. Next thing I know i was throwing up and had diarrhea up until now (530 pm) I called my dad and sure enough he had the same symptoms. So of course it was from papa's Johns. I called the manager to let her know and she was the most incompetent person ever! She kept stating that it could be from anywhere. And that her employees always wash properly. Really? Do you personally wash your employees hands? It's a bunch of kids that work there, I highly doubt they take their jobs seriously. Mind you they don't use gloves. Not a store policy, well it should be. This lady was so unapologetic and kept sticking up for her employees. Well something got us sick from there. IT's not everyday that you have to call in work because your shitting your brains out. Easy-say sorry and that you will look in to it! I will NEVER NEVER eat there again!!!!!

I only ordered twice from here, 1st time I got two medium pizzas and both were not hot, just warm, and not much cheese on it, basically ate a lot of bread. I didn't order from them for a while, then decided to give them another chance which I regret, several hours after eating their pizza, I got bad stomach ache and a long sit on the john:(

Say what you will about the pizza, but I'm in it for the garlic sauce. Dip that pizza in the sauce and you have a heavenly combination of awesome in your mouth.

Papa John's is a "luxury" for me that I only can partake in when I'm up in the suburbs. I've ordered carryout (called in or walked in) from here countless times over the years and have never been disappointed. The pizza is made quickly and comes out hot and fresh. They usually throw in some kind of discount (and I never bring coupons) and always make sure I get my extra garlic sauce cups.

Hi.  My name is Josh and I am addicted to Garlic Butter.

I was off the stuff for quite some time when the urge hit me.   I was enticed by a coupon from my bank card's website - 20% off from this specific location.  I ordered and walked on over there to pick it up.  When I got there they told me that I had to pay the full rate because they had never heard of the coupon.   Why they didn't tell me that over the phone instead is beyond me.  After some argument with the thug standing between me and my sweet garlic butter, I gave in and just paid full price.

Turns out that a couple years of only eating delicious Chicago pizza spoiled me.  The pizza tasted awful and it was cold.    Bad food, worse service, and unjustifiable considering that Lou Malnati's is like 2 blocks away.  Shame on me.

I changed my rating of this place from 4 stars to 1 after I got the most horrible food poisoning of my life starting about 30 minutes after I had their pizza (though, as a disclaimer: I can, of course, not prove the source of my food poisoning).

Let's just say I've had salmonella infections twice before, and this was worse.

That was about a month ago, and I still get sick just THINKING about pizza. Thanks, Papa John's, for ruining pizza for me! And hi from my boyfriend, as well, who not gets to eat Chinese food with me on what used to be our pizza night.
