This is great grease pizza, and its cheap. Most of the fun is seeing which delivery driver comes. One time my pizza was delivered by Bill S. Preston of the band Wild Stallions!

Service was great. Pizza was good. Inside was a bit dark and I don't like how they have the seating.

Best stuffed pizza in the city. We've never been big pizza eaters until a friend turned us on to Pete's. We get delivery from them several times a month. I've received friendly and competent service from the phone staff and quick delivery every time. Give Pete's a try. You will be pleased.

I've dined in at Pete's and really enjoyed both my meal and the atmosphere. So tonight when I had a craving for some good pizza and saw Pete's would deliver through Grubhub I was sold!

With my boyfriend not being a fan of bbq sauce, and also not being home I realized I could finally try the BBQ Chicken pizza. All I can is that I took one bite and was so disappointed. The worst part is it both looked and smelled appetizing, but didn't taste it.

I'm not one to write a negative review about anything, I can't even stiff a horrible server, but I was truly unhappy with my Pete's experience tonight. On a positive note, the delivery time was quick, and the driver was great.

Three stars for Pete's, because up until today and up until this specific pizza, I have been nothing but pleased.

    Two words: dull sauce.

So much so, in fact, that I word-searched the reviews for "sauce" and was surprised to see happy adjectives preceding it in other user reviews. Things like "sweet" and "good."

    As of February 2013, dull.

It might have been an aberration, but this seems unlikely. The rest of the thin crust pizza was Giordanoesque, We ordered on Grubhub; deliver driver super nice on a Friday night, arrived 15 minutes early. That's nice. But I was right to have reservations about a pizza place called "Pete's", despite earnest recommendations from now-suburban baby boomers.

Putting you on the bench, Pete.

I love Pete's. It is one of my favorite pizza places in the city. We live within delivery range, so we call it up probably more than our waistlines would like.

For starters the crust is great. We tend to get the thin, but the stuffed is fabulous. Both ways come with more cheese than is healthy, but oh man is it good. The toppings are fresh and flavorful. The sauce is sweet, but not terribly sweet. I've had other pizza places with sweeter sauce and you can feel the sugar on your teeth. Pete's is a mild sweet so it doesn't feel like dessert.

We have dined in and the interior is nice, and never seems to be too crowded. We do tend to eat at off hours (late lunches or early dinners), so that might be the difference.

When we order for delivery we almost always use GrubHub. However, GrubHub doesn't let you do 1/2 toppings, but Pete's website does. Another good thing about ordering off of Pete's website is that they'll give you a free 6-pack of Coke with your first order.

I've seen other reviews complain about delivery times and delivery mix ups, I've never had a problem. Delivery has always been within the hour and sometimes closer to 1/2. The pizza has always been hot, but I will say this for thin crust delivery, you will get that "toppings shift" where it kinda slides to one side or another.

Whenever family or friends come to visit and they want good Chicago pizza, we get Pete's.

I really like Pete's - hadn't been inside for years and it looks like they redid the entire place - it's very nice what they've done with the place.

Pete's makes a great pie and is one of my favorites in Chicago for thin crust!

For years, Pete's has been the go to place for me and wife to order from. Pete's is a pretty typical pizza and more joint, with a wide ranging menu. I really like the pizza, which is just a darned good Chicago thin crust, my wife and both like their pasta, their fried chicken and just about everything we've ordered.

We recently moved from Albany Park to Lincoln Square, and while it's probably just a coincidence, the quality of the delivery service has plummeted. At least three times since November they have messed up our order. Just last night, the boneless wings my mother-in-law ordered arrived as chicken nuggets.

The worst was the second screwed up order, where they gave us someone else's order. I called to point out this mistake. The first 'solution' was the Pete's employee asking if we wouldn't mind just eating what they sent us by mistake (and it wasn't close to what we ordered). No, we wanted our original order. I was told they get it out as quickly as possible.

Sadly, that was the opposite of what happened. After about an hour and ten minutes, I called and was told it would be coming soon. Fifteen minutes later, I called again, spoke to a manager, who was very defensive. Here, it was, more than two hours since we had ordered, and we still didn't have our food. And we had been told the correct order would be rushed and it was almost 90 minutes. I questioned how long it took, and the manager told me they want to make sure we got hot food -- well isn't that the goal of every delivery? I had to haggle to get some sort of compensation for this terrible service, and was ultimately promised $15 off our next order. Of course, they did not make good on this. And the food ultimately arrived, lukewarm.

Since we've had many more good experiences than bad experiences, I'm willing to give Pete's one more chance. But if they can't come through, there are plenty of other good pizza places in Chicago that don't screw up orders with such frequency.

Truthfully, I've had better pizza at lesser known places. And I'm noticing not only at this place abut at some other places as well, that the sauce is lacking flavor and some oregano. I'm a think crust purist at heart and I will order the pan or stuffed pizza on certain occasions, but I really hate doughy thin crust pizza. the last time I ate in their restaurant, I ordered a side of French Onion soup. Very disappointing. tasted like it came out of a can. It  was a Sunday evening and I was dining alone and although it wasn't busy, it was hard to waited on. Other people rant and rave about this place. But for me, I can find other places for a more pleasant dining experience.

Called and had to explain to the guy, his name is Ben, I wanted a large pan pepperoni and sausage. Ben had trouble understanding this and asked for the details of my address and order several times. Now I know Ben is more than likely not a rocket scientist but I figured he could swing the order. They delivered a medium, thin crust pepperoni. While I commend Pete's willingness to hire the developmentally challenged like Ben, they should keep him off the phones.

My husband and I took our kids here again this weekend for try #2.  Our first experience was so bad it's not even worth recapping at this point but it was cold and snowing and we needed a place with partking.  We thought our first experience was so bad because of our server.  Wrong.  This place just doesn't cut it.  The food is not great, the service is not much better.  Final decision, not going back.

I haven't had pizza from Petes for several years, so while driving by today I thought I would stop in for a slice.

I ordered one slice of cheese pizza and asked for oregano and hot pepper flakes on it. I was told they were out of oregano...HOW CAN A PIZZA PLACE BE OUT OF OREGANO???
I had my slice to go and once I unwrapped it in the car and took a bite it was cold, as in all the grease on the top had solidified, there is no way the person cutting the pizza and putting it on that cheap paper plate didn't feel that it was totally cold.

I figured I would try it anyway, the crust was thick and chewy the cheese was tasteless and the sauce was nowhere to be found.

That piece of shitty pizza was inedible, 3 dollars wasted!

Tacky yes, but I actually threw it out the window right in their parking lot, I know I will never buy another thing from Pete's.

This place used to have good pizza.  Not anymore tho.  I would recommend another place.  For some reason, I have a friend named Josh that swears by this place.  But he has no taste in pizza.

Disappointed.  If there is one thing I hate in life its sugar in my tomato sauce.  Bleech. Never again.

I just received my delivery order from Pete's.  My medium cheese & tomato pizza had the toppings all over the box, maybe half on the pie.  The crust was poorly cut.  All in all, it was hard to eat.  The pizza was for a party I'm throwing for the football game, and needless to say the group was not impressed by Pete's.  I am usually a fan, and love their cheesy breadsticks.  However, even the ranch side had spilled on its journey to my place.

When I called, I was first asked if we had eaten most of the pizza.  While we weren't very successful putting our toppings and crust together, we had eaten some of the pizza.  I was told I could "trade" the remainder of the pizza for a new pizza in 20-30 minutes, or receive a $5 credit on my next order.  This pizza cost me $10.90 +$1.80 for the tomatoes, and another $0.25 for the ranch we did not receive intact, plus tax and tip - well over $5.

I was disappointed in the shape of the food.  I understand that things happen and this is likely an exception.  However, I was very disappointed in the customer service I received.

Try Pequod's - they've never let me down!

The 5 stars is for the thin crust 4 cheese pizza only!! The rest is a 3. A crackery sort of layered crust, but not dry, red sauce and  4 cheeses the star being whole milk ricotta, or fresh ricotta? It's soooo good and makes the pizza, so creamy and milky tasting, lightly salted, it's delish!hmmmm, having leftovers right now :) try this cheesy goodness!
Thin crust 4 cheese pizza! Yah!

They have great pizza, AMAZING potato skins and pretty good customer service. The delivery can take a little long (but where in Chicago doesn't it?) The last time I got delivery my order was wrong. When I called they were really apologetic and got the right food to me as soon as they could which was great. This is my favorite delivery spot!

I grew up on Chicago's southside, which basically means I grew up loving Aurelios, and San Frantello's.  Those are my favorites when it comes to thin crust, which is what I order at Pete's.  Pete's is solid when it comes to thin crust pizza.  It's not flashy or unassuming, but rather blue collar and straight forward.   Bang for buck it's one of the better pizza's around.   I usually order there a couple times a month...  Don't expect it to be fancy, just solid all american pizza that will get you a solution to your pizza fix...

Also, to give you an idea how popular they are, they basically have a call center at their restaurant.   5 phones, 5 people answering...  You got to be doing something right to do that volume.

Ordered several "thin" crust pizzas for a mid day birthday.  1-exactly on time!  yay.  2-by end of the day all was gone.  3-I ordered a margherita-not at all, more like a cheese pizza with sliced tomatoes on top.  4-just really fine.  I wouldn't do it again as there are just too many great places in Chicago to have this again

We went to Pete's by accident today.  We were looking for a quick place for lunch before an appointment we had.  We went into Pete's and they had a nice lunch buffet and very reasonably priced $8.95 with no drink or $10.95 with a drink.  The buffet had ceasear salad, garden salad, mixed veggies, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, pasta, bread, pizza and dessert which was cheesecake with strawberry sauce, brownies and watermelon.   The pizza is fantastic!  I would go back there just for that.  The chicken was great as well.  The atmosphere is only good.   Very nice looking place and our waitress who doubled as the bartender was good and attentive.

I was psyched to try a new pizza place and I had heard good things from fellow yelpers so I headed over to Pete's last Saturday. I normally don't walk into a restaurant without a reservation on a Saturday night and I don't care to wait for a table for too long either. The 2 of us walked in on Saturday at 7:30 pm and the place was half empty and no one was sitting at the bar.

We started with a salad because my stuffed veggie pizze would take 45 minutes. Or so they said... The Greek salad was really good! Our server said the dressing was new and it was great.

We waited about an hour if not more for the pizza. At one point around the 50 minute mark our waitress came by and put plates in front of us so I thought our pizza was about to come out. No it was another almost 10 minutes before it did. My friend's thin crust was hot. My stuffed was very warm. Boo.

The pizza itself was fine. The sauce was really nice but the crust was soooo dry. I'd rather have it a bit softer. But when heated up it works out fine.

Parking is do-able here either in the small lot in back or on the side streets. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. It is in the 'OK' category.

Pete's has changed over the years.

There was once a time years ago when ordering or going out for pizza, and Pete's would be right on top of the list of where to go. The crusts were good, the sauce had a nice taste, and everything was fresh tasting.

Then something happened. Maybe new ownership? A new cook, perhaps? I dunno.

Now, when Pete's is ordered for work gatherings, I pick up one of the side piece's that is the size of your thumb, because that's all I can handle now. There is something that just is not good with their pizzas now. I think it deals with the sauce; it just has the wrong flavorings in it now.

It's a shame to see a place that used to be so good change drastically in five years.

I've been going here since I was a little girl with my grandparents. Just went this passed Friday for the first time in about 6 years.

I was totally disappointed. The menu has downsized big time. There were a lot of families there which was fine with me since I have a 5 year old son. I wouldn't eat anything but the pizza. Ordered spaghetti with a meatball for my son. The meatball didn't even look like real meat. His meal came with a scoop of ice cream which contained chunks of ice, hello freezer burn! My mom had eggplant which was eh with sweet potato fries that were scrawny and overcooked. Glad I stuck with what I know...the pizza! Which the only ingredient I wanted was mushrooms and the pizza came plain. I love the pizza so it was no big deal but it was def coming off my bill.

Other than pizza, don't do it.

    Pete's is just good pizza.

It's different from others - especially the 'thick crust,' which is what I would recommend.  I can't speak to the restaurant, because we have them deliver, and they do a good job of it.  You can usually get a free 2-liter, but make sure you ask if your order qualifies; they don't offer it.

The regular menu items are decent, but the pizza is good.  Go with the pizza, friends.  Extra sauce for sure.

They deliver wine, which earns them a star.

The pizza was literally inedible. I ended up throwing it out and just drinking the wine from the bottle and getting drunk instead.

    Seriously. Inedible.

I feel very strongly about Pete's Pizza. Here is why:

I think that their regular menu items are not good. I don't want people to go there and order off the menu and complain about how their food was not that good. I am not HAPPY that their pasta, chicken, salad, appetizers, ribs, burgers, etc, are all mediocre AT BEST, but I just don't even want them to be considered. Don't get 'em. OK!?!

Just get Pizza, friends. Get a large thin crust pizza, with one or two toppings. Ask for it well done. Just get the pizza. PLEASE. You will not be disappointed. It's just damn good pizza. Plain cheese pizza is good. The deep dish is pretty good, too. My boyfriend and out of town friends go wild over it.

I love Pete's Pizza. LOVE. I am generally saddened by the other food they carry but I still hold firmly to the belief that this is some of the best Pizza in Chicago.

If I was only rating the pizza, I would have given Pete's a solid 4 star rating, and quite possibly 4.5.  Our thin crust pepperoni and mushroom pizza was great - the sauce:cheese:toppings ratios were perfect.

However, our group was famished upon arrival, and we started with mozzarella sticks and pizza bread while we waited for our pizza.  The cheese sticks were luke warm, and the breading lacked flavor.  The pizza bread was soggy with cheese so cold it looked like plastic.   If you're starving, you'd be better off getting an Alley Dog across the street - YUM!

I've eaten at Pete's before and had no problem with it. This last time was the exception, however.

We came on a late Sunday afternoon, and for some reason the parking lot was jam packed.  Odd for a Sunday afternoon. After finally getting a spot and entering the restaurant, we saw a large party inside. I thought to myself, "There's plenty of available booths, please don't sit us behind the party."  Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened.  I know it was difficult for the servers to get to us, but at times we were pretty much ignored.  There were booths available in other parts of the restaurant, so it left me wondering why we were seated directly behind a large group.

We ordered the works pizza, and it was pretty disgusting.  The pizza was barely edible. I do hope they were just extremely busy that night, because the food was subpar. I've had the works before and enjoyed it, thus why I was surprised as to how bad it tasted.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience.  But I'm always willing to try a place again, in case it was just a bad day.

Easily THE best pizza in the North Center neighborhood.  Can't quite say best in the city, but NC doesn't have much competition in the realm of Italian pies.  The sauce has the right blend of seasonings without being too spicy or overly sweet.  The crust isn't my favorite (I prefer a slightly softer version) but it works.

This family friendly establishment is a welcome mainstay on an otherwise hit-or-miss main drag that is N Western Ave.  They do sell six-packs to go, but you could always head down the road less than half a mile and run into Mariano's or Jewel (your pick, but I choose Mariano's).  The prices are reasonable and the delivery is free.  Looks like they have a well stocked bar, so this place might be able to satisfy any demographic.

I'm actually not a huge fan of the thin crust pizza. They put plenty of toppings and cheese on it, but the actual crust tastes a bit bland to me.
However, I L.O.V.E. their chili. I wish I could just order an ice cream pail of the stuff. It is greasy and is sure to shorten my life by a week or two at a time, but dizzaum...good stuff.

ALright this sucks to write a cruddy review because the upside of Pete's is this:
THEIR THIN CRUST PIZZA IS AMAZING, I mean so damn good.
HOwever dining in is fricking ridiculous. My hubby and I went there in the late summer and the wait was a bit long to get our food. about 45 mins or so for sandwiches and a salad. THought "eh its busy, maybe they are just short staffed today no biggie....".
Well now we went today to enjoy a meal. Fricking over an hour to get our food and WE WERE STILL WAITING. I almost yelped while in the restaurant. We had a coke and my cocktail and told the waitress we are outta here we dont want our meals as its been over an hour.
    Very disapointing.
Pizza is amazing, order delivery or pick up.
Skip the "dining in" that is, unless you are with a huge group drinking and ordering pizza where the staff will make sure that big bill gets the service.
    HMPF!!!!

Italian sub sandwich had meat that had gone bad.  Probably would have gotten sick if I had eaten it.  It was green, and smelled rotten.  How does someone even put that on a sandwich for someone to eat?  Anyway, I called and talked to a "manager".  and was told, "all the meat was delivered fresh that day"..................................sure,

It's football Sunday. The Bears are playing the Raiders. I'm starving and I want pizza. Call Pete's. Ordered: One large 1 topping thin crust pizza. Forty five minutes and $18.50 later I have it. Disappointment! The sauce is way too sweet. And where is the meat, I thought I ordered pepperoni?

Conclusion: I won't be getting delivery from Pete's anytime soon.

I've been to a lot of pizza restaurants around chicago, and i love this place. Maybe i just haven't been to enough or the best, but Pete's Pizza has had great pizza since I was a kid!
I went again yesterday and the pizza was perfect! the crust was made and cooked perfectly.

Although, the waitresses were a bit rude and slow - minus one star.

Pizza was gross!  Actually called and had money refunded. They sent the delivery driver back to pick up uneaten pizza.  Probably the worst pizza I have ever attempted to eat.  Cheese was like rubber and tasted very bland.

Cheese sticks were also not very good. Honestly, you would be much better off eating Red Barron frozen pizza and TGI Fridays cheese sticks from Jewel.

    Okay, that's two stars.

I tried a salad once and an order of Mostaccioli with red sauce. The red sauce seemed as though it had food coloring in and one bite was like licking a can of tomato paste.

That's what I get for trying to keep up appearances, from now on, I'm ordering a six pack and no food...go ahead and judge me, delivery man!

Ordered the BBQ chicken pizza.  The sauce they used was neither typical tomato sauce, nor BBQ sauce.  It tasted like ketchup and others that ate the pizza agreed.  We ended up tossing half the pizza because we were so disgusted.

I am not a food snob and I enjoy a late night bacci's like everyone else.  For me to throw out a pizza means it's THAT bad.
