Good burgers 🍔 and local beer 🍺
Just tried this for the first time today and I really liked the options of laying out whatever you wanted on your budget from the big chalkboard wall. They also had $2 pbr points and a couple of local beers 🍻 on tap which is always nice.

My wife got the regular burger and it was perfect 👌. Cooked exactly right with nice fresh veggies to top. I went for the 'burger of the moment' which was a duck burger with bleu cheese and some strawberry stuff. It was good but not excellent, though the raffle fries 🍟 were very good.

Decor and atmosphere were clean, bright, modern and relaxed which was good.

Sweetness.. A burger joint which has actual options for vegetarians and vegans!

Like almost every place I visit, I found Punch on Yelp when searching for the 'best burger' near me. The burger request came from my man, which often creates quite a bit of research on my end to find a place that does not leave me hanging with ordering a dehydrated boca patty or basket of fries as my only option. The more I read online, the more excited I got. Yay for feeding him locally sourced beef without any added yuckiness like hormones and double yay for the (apparently tasty) vegan burger patty available for me.

Using the bigass board which covers a full wall, all options are laid out for your total burgah customizability. He went for the crispy burned cheese variety and I added lettuce, tomato, onion, homemade pickles and spicy (sriracha) aioli to mine. We ordered a mixed side of sweet potato tots and waffle fries and were good to go.

The decor is somewhat reminiscent of the Smashburger chain; very open, sleek and 'European' looking. Which is not a bad thing at all (says the European).

They have one of those cool Coke machine gizmo thingies also, which make me giddy and excited.  Like I just mentioned, the actual non-meat patty is vegan and consists of vegetables?  I am not sure what it is made of but it was pretty tasty!  The white buns are also supposedly vegan, and there are plenty of fresh veggies to chose from topping-wise.

Seeing I am not vegan I stole some crispy cheese bites off of my husbands burger, and man was that good.  He chose the aptly named 'burned cheese' burger, which they create by cooking the burger patty on the flat top, with pieces of cheese overlapping and oozing over the sides.  This  cheese melts and becomes crispy and burned, kinda like those amazing bites of goopy cheese that get stuck to the pan when making a grilled cheese.  They then fold the cheese over and wrap the burger in it like a neat little gift.

The tots had a good flavor but were a little soft and flimsy, almost as if they were oil-logged which was strange.  It seems as though perhaps the oil is of too low temperature, rendering it impossible to create a crispy outside and cooked inside (deep-frying 101). The waffle fries on the other end were decent, nicely seasoned and crispy.

Sadly my husband found a little surprise in his burger.  While eating he got stabbed with something in the roof of his mouth and upon examining this curiosity, he pulled out a stick looking thing.  He brought it to the attention of a staff member whom proclaimed, 'oh, that's a stick'.  Umm. Yeah?! Annnnd?  And nothing, nothing like a sign of concern or an apology.  Okay then.

If I could give three and a half stars I would, both burgers were good and they have a pretty cool thing going.  Props for pffering a solid veggieburger and for selling brews alongside burgers. Parking can be tricky, as Punch Burger is located in downtown Indianapolis.

Punch Burger welcomed our loud group with open hands. The place was very retro and clean, as the staff was friendly.

The parking was not exactly the greatest, but I may not be a fair judge residing in Las Vegas, NV.

As for the food, the waffle fries were delicious! Something out of the ordinary that not many people have these days. My burger was good as well, not spectacular though. The condiments were available at a table in the center of the restaurant, and the drink fountain was unique, as well as retro!

Overall a great joint, and nice scenery. We had a good time, and I would probably go back if I weren't half a country away.

Well, well, well.  So there's a new burger joint in town.

Walking downtown from a meeting and off to the next, I passed by this unfamiliar looking store front.  Big windows, red and white interior, and people moving about inside - I was immediately drawn.   A few hours later I returned still intrigued and bewildered why I had never seen it before.  I went in.

"How long have y'all been open?" I asked. "Today is our first day," a friendly staff replied. Well, all right, I thought.

As others have mentioned the interior is spacious and modern - a clean, geometrical look. A twenty foot chalkboard wall contains their whole menu, full of customizable burgers, a burger of the moment, and a list of local brews.  The seating was plenty with a short bar, a main dining area, and a backroom.  I liked where this was going.

I saw the "Punch Burger" as a menu item and quickly decided that was for me.  They have a few side options; what caught my eye were the waffle fries and the sweet potato tots.  I asked if I could order half and half of the fries and tots.  They were happy to do it.  I quickly noted that the staff was impeccably friendly.   I ordered a beer (I can't remember which) and headed for the bar.  My experience was pleasant so far.

I ended up sitting next to the owner who was doing some paper work.  He was great to talk to and was eager to hear my thoughts and suggestions.  He took the time to make sure my experience was grand.  He gave me recommendations on which burgers I should try and which were his favorites.  He sold me on having the "Burnt Cheese" for when I came in next.  I also enjoyed sitting at the bar where I could observe all that took place as staff cooked.

The food came 5-7 minutes later. The burger and tots/fries were served in metal baskets - no plates which I liked.  The flavor of the burger was solid.  It's grass-fed, Indiana Angus beef.  It was a bit greasy but I think grease tends to make things better.  The "Punch Burger" was a simple burger compared to the others on the menu like the Thai, Good Morning, Aloha, Blue, etc.  I'm not a huge fan ordinarily of tater tots; the sweet potato ones, however, were addictive.  I sometimes now just go to get a order of those.  The waffle fries were terrific - they had a light season on it that was just right.

I drank my beer and finished my food.  It was filling.  As I spoke to the owner and some staff they had a genuine interest in my experience being awesome -  and it was.

I think I went into Punch Burger every day that week.  And at this point, I've had all of their burgers.  I have favorites; I absolutely recommend the Burnt Cheese. They still split my waffles and tots and now know me by name.

For me, Punch Burger is about great customer service and quick, delicious food.

Punch Burger is officially my new favorite burger place in Indy, not only is this place local but their burgers pack a whole lot of flavor. The first time I tried this place I had the Texan and the sweet potato tots, lets just say they had me at sweet potato tots. Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Yelp 80s prom, where to my delight Punch Burger happened to have a booth set up. My friends and I were in slider heaven.  To my surprise, I quickly became obsessed with the nutella, banana, and bacon burger. I think I will request this one next time :)

Modern and clean interior with an open concept kitchen. Love their nutty banana burger as well as their good morning or breakfast burger. They also have a decent selection of draft and bottled beer.

The fiancee and I walked in just before close. You would think, naturally, that you would get the "oh, great, wasn't like we were getting ready to close or anything" treatment - but not here - the cashier greeted us with a smile and was happy to take our order.

Interior- Fresh to death. Also, they have a clear ceiling (skyline ceiling?) in the back room that is awesome, as well.

One glance at the gigantic chalkboard menu and you may think "this decision might take a while." Let me solve that for you, THEY HAVE A FRIGGIN' BURNT CHEESE, CHEESEBURGER (IN A GOOD WAY!)

You know that bottom of the wrapper, baked cheddar gold you desperately search for  when ordering a cheeseburger? If you don't, then shame on you for not having the guile to admit it.  THEY DO THAT ON PURPOSE AROUND THE EDGE OF THE BURGER! AND IT'S $*&^$#& AMAZING!

If you're on a first date or something and don't want to admit your burnt cheese fetish, she/he will have to learn about it someday though, they have vast array of different burgers and I could tell that my AMAZING BURNT CHEESEBURGER was made with quality fresh, ingredients.

They also serve beer, which is a huge plus. My suggestion? Order a couple beers and split some fries with your date, then, after you have lowered your inhibitions. ORDER THE DAMN BURNT CHEESE CHEESEBURGER!

Overall, I had an amazing time here. Good people. Good food.

I really want this review to be a little better.  I was excited to learn about the Vegan option!  I ordered a burger that was 100% vegan and it is awesome.  But .75 up charge for a veggie burger kind of sucks.

The sweet potato tots should have been great but they were under cooked and greasy.  I know its busy at lunch, but let them cook out completely and shake out the grease.

I will go back for sure.  I hope that it's just a little better next time.  I'd love to rave on this place and give it a 4 or even 5.  It seems like the kind of place that I would score that high.

I REALLY want Punch Burger to be a 4 -- or even 5 -- star place. But it's not. Yet...

    Down to brass tacks --

Their commitment to the All-American delicacy is admirable. You'll find yourself nearly overwhelmed with choice (a good thing) -- choice of meat, cheeses, toppings, sauces, even buns. They have a respectable choice of sides as well...all of which are good. Top it off with a Coke (from one of the new Freestyle fountains) and you're good to go.

As for the food: the burgers are cooked on a flat-top, so they're a little greasy...but hey, this is a burger joint, after all. I'd stick with the standard bun -- I've found the wheat bun to be hard and crumbly and the pretzel bun seems to multiply the grease. Grease is indeed the word, but as with many things, moderation preferred.

Oh, and they have beer. A moderately good selection, I might add! Cheers to that.

OK! If you're ordering to go, then yes, you're golden. Go. Enjoy. You're still here?!?

    Oh, for here...

If you're dining in -- wait just a second. Or a minute. Or 10. Their dining room is REALLY inefficiently organized. It's almost all 4-tops (that's a 4-person table for you non-restauranteurs), but mostly 2 people at each one. So basically, during the weekday lunch, you get to stare everyone down who just might want to sit and enjoy their lunchtime company...until you finally find a seat. Then it's your turn to shovel food in your face while others stare you down. You could go "euro" style and share your table (or sit down with random strangers -- I've done both), but a restaurant shouldn't force us out of our social norms (at least, not without announcing their intent with a placard on the wall).

Now, being busy and successful might sound like a good problem to have, but this isn't how I choose to spend my lunch...and now, after two weekday lunches, it's now totally off the table. Weekends only, please and thanks!

I'm going to try this place another time or two..because the food is pretty good, they have beer (and Coke), and because it's the first independent foray into restaurants for this local owner (so I've heard).

So, if you're downtown and hungry anytime between the hours of M-F, 11AM - 1:30 PM (or so), definitely stop in!

I have only been here once, but I love good burger joints. Punch is located downtown and as soon as you walk in you face the wall of option paralysis (that's what I call it). There are so many creative ways to prepare your burger. They do provide some creative leads, but if you're brave enough, you can create you're own concoction. While there are many ways to prepare these burgers, there is only one way to enjoy them...IN YOUR MOUTH! And you'll can't wait to get it there. Enjoy!

I admire this place for its unique combination of burger toppings, multiple bun options, and the modern but casual decor. And that's where it stops.

I got a modestly-sized custom burger that was almost $7 by itself and if I didn't have a side of sweet potato tots, I would've left hungry. I tried my boyfriend's Thai burger, and although I love Thai food, I'm not sure I would ever order it for myself.  The flavors just don't translate well on burger form, but it was a good attempt in offering something different.   Overall, the food wasn't awful, but it anything wasn't anything special.

What bothered me the most is that delivering food to customers a huge nightmare that can be easily remedied. The cashier tells you your order number, yet it's not printed on your receipt, nor is your receipt itemized. Then employees aimlessly walk around, calling out a number, and customers that forget their number don't get their food for a while.  We saw this happened at least three times in the half hour we were there.  This place has been open long enough for management to realize this is a recurring problem which needs to be fixed.  I'm concerned as to how long this establishment will be around for at this rate.

In the end, if I'm going to get an amazing burger that's not fast food, I'd go to Bru Burger.

It's like a Warehouse Rave in your mouth!

I can't say enough about PUNCH BURGER ------ I am an "out-of-towner" but I have several POSITIVE things to say about this little burger joint that cannot be over looked in the state of Indiana.  (first off, I have no idea how many reviews I have written but it is prob under 100... Next, I have always eaten meat... Lastly, I LOVE burgers...)

The GOOD: They sell BEER & food at the SAME time & place.  This is RARE in the "great" state of Indiana... But on a Serious note - The burgers here are pretty damn good - and the "help" staff will spend 30 seconds to 10 mins helping you pick out just the right burger for you.. (unless there is a mightily long line) but the chalk board is NOT the only option).  And after you make your decision, the fun is not over there my friend, the friendly staff will sit there and talk to you about music or Indiana all night long.

The BAD: The Beer options aren't great but this is a burger joint - not a bar so I am not going to hit them on that...

The Ugly: That some people have to NERVE to hit them up on yelp with bad reviews!

Bottom Line: When I go back to Indiana, I am DEF going back to PUNCH BURGER!

Good Burger! I ordered the Good Morning burger, but substituted pepper jack for the cream cheese. Got the egg Over Easy. Order of waffle fries as a side. Overall, a good burger. No options on meat temp, but I understood that before going in. Reasonably priced. I wasn't too impressed with the fries, but perhaps next time I'll try the asian slaw instead and cut down on the carbs. Not much of a wait even at lunch time. I will go back for sure.

After over 10 years of vegetarianism, I recently decided to go vegan. Of course, I was going through the list of restaurants I frequent and mourning the loss of deliciousness when I found out that Punch Burger, a restaurant I definitely frequented before I went vegan, is vegan friendly!

They have a veggie patty that is vegan and after speaking with the owner, Travis, I found out that they have two vegan bun options: the wheat and white. He also assured me that the "butter" that they use to toast the buns on the grill is actually a soy based, vegan alternative.

I can't wait to stop in and give this vegan burger a try! I'm so excited that I didn't have to mourn the loss of Punch Burger in my transition to a vegan lifestyle.

This is my 100th review. I have waited for a week or so to review something worthy of 100, and Punch Burger does not disappoint. Let me take you on sexy adventure....

First, Me and a fellow adventurer step foot into Punch Burger seeking to satisfy our inner carnal dinosaur. We were greeted with a IKEA clean environment and the melodic riff breaking tunes of Led Zepplin greeting our burger eating experience.

I had the Aloha burger which was decimated with mind exploding Darwinian defying ham, bacon, pineapple, provolone, and teriyaki sauce. Combine that with waffle fries Mrs. Butters worth would lust after, and a coke freestyle machine of vanilla coke, my inner beast was quelled and the land was not laid waste to burnination.

Overall, Punch Burger deserves #100, and deserves your lusting burger eyes. Lets get sexy America.

1st visit = 3 stars, but 2nd visit = 4 stars. Turkey burger both times, so take this review with a grain of salt if you think I'm weird for not getting beef.

Burgers: "Burnt cheese" was a real winner, although I didn't realize they'd put mayo on it by default. Ugh. Definitely enjoyed it a lot more than my Sriracha egg special that I had on the initial visit. Wish the burger was just a bit thicker, a tiny complaint that was shared by a person in my party who got the cow burger.

Sides: Sweet potato tater tots were disappointing! Not crunchy enough by any stretch of the imagination. Waffle fries were quite excellent, however - crispy and seasoned perfectly. Just about as good as waffle fries get.

In summary, go burnt cheese + waffle fries ... it's a killer combination.

I want to preface this by saying we rolled in about 15 minutes until closing on a Thursday night. I hate doing that to businesses, but I really wanted to try this place.

I couldn't have asked for a friendlier staff. They really made the experience fantastic and such that I can't wait to go back (the amazing food didn't hurt, either, but I'll get to that). Great, local beers on tap for a fantastic price and I couldn't get over the adorable pint glasses. This place has so many unique little touches, from the chalkboard wall to the open kitchen design, that it is just a fun place to be.

Now to the important part, the food. I work in the food animal industry and I really appreciate the fact that they have grass fed, Indiana raised beef. I ordered the Burnt Cheese and my (hot) date ordered the Aloha with waffle fries and a pint of Flat 12 porter. The bill came to right around $20. I cannot rave enough about the Burnt Cheese. So juicy, smoky, and delicious.  There was a brief moment when I was really concerned about the pickles. My fears quickly subsided when I realized it wasn't just a sliced cucumber, because cucumbers are the worst and pickles are amazing (don't fret, they are deceivingly delicious). Doug seemed to enjoy the Aloha, but I think we both agreed that the Burnt Cheese is the shining star. The burgers are greasy, but when a burger is fresh off the grill, it just adds deliciousness.  The waffle fries were good and fresh.

Overall, great food, good atmosphere, phenomenal staff, and beer aplenty...so if you're craving a great burger at a reasonable price, then what's stopping you from going there right now?

It's local. No, really. It is. Despite it's uber sleek branding and almost Swedish-ly clean interior, Punch Burger is an Indy-only business. My dinner companion and I had to requirements for our restaurant selection last night: affordable and fast. In walks Punch Burger (which, unbeknownst to me, my friend is a regular - like the kind where they remembered the last special sandwich they made for him).

First note: I love the clean interior of Punch. Reds, whites and greys with Ikea-like furniture. If you're wanting to get in on the action and see the burger action up close, you can sit at the bar.

Second note: I opted to fail my 25 days (thus far) of vegetarianism for this experience. Please note, they do have a vegan burger - but I, however, insisted on trying the Thai Burger (which was worth the splurge). Asian slaw, whole wheat bun, peanut butter, red onion and sweet chili sauce. This is one of their seven signature specialty burger. My friend ordered the burnt cheese on Texas Toast. Both were very good - between the two, I choose the Thai. $6.75 for the burger. I had read so many reviews noting their sweet potato tots, so we opted for the half and half mix of waffle fries and sweet. Of the two, I fancied the waffle fries much more as the tots hit me as little balls of grease. Good flavor, but just a bit too much grease for my fancy. As for local beers on tap: I was happy to see 4 of the 6 were local: Triton, Flat 12, Fountain Square and Sun King, I believe.

Third note: Service. Extremely friendly and interactive. I'm sure that it helped that Jonathan (friend) goes there as often as 2 to 3 times a week but either way, a very fun and lively crew.

    affordability + quality + deliciousness = patronage

my only complaint is that they don't accept call-in carry out orders.. I work less than a block from this spot and it would be really nice to call ahead for myself or customers who want food.

i usually stick with the house cheeseburger, but will build my own.  I don't really dig on the different "flavors" but I can see the attraction.

Finally hit up Punch Burger. I was waiting for a non-weekday lunch opportunity and on Sunday, it came.

Overall, I enjoyed the burger. It was juicy and fresh tasting. I got the burnt cheeseburger...loved that they had the offering. We had the sweet potato tots and the waffle fries. Next time, I will go with the waffle fries. The tots were okay, but mine were not seasoned and just tasted bland. You can't really successfully add salt after the fact, I tried.

The environment was comfortable. We were one of only a few tables so that was nice. They have TV's too.  We were able to follow the NFC game.

So why only three stars? I was turned off by the customer service we received. Both my burger and my daughters burger had mayonaise. Neither of us ordered mayonaise. You either love it or you don't and we don't. There is no scraping it off either. When we noticed, I took our burgers to the counter to let someone know. Instead of taking our burgers and just making new ones, the cashier began rummaging through all of the tickets to ensure I was right. She did this right in our view. I sat back down with my burgers waiting for a verdict. After she confirmed I was correct, someone finally came over and ask if we wanted them re-made. By this time, the other two members in our party had made a dent in their food. We were sitting there with nothing. Then of course, they were sitting waiting for us to finish, long after they finished their meal. I completely understand that mistakes happen and I'm not even upset about that. But as a small business owner, you have to take care of the problem and treat people the way you'd want to be treated. I just didn't feel the love.

Will I give them another chance? Probably. Am I in a hurry to do so? Nope.

This is a sweet spot downtown out of the "main districts." They have an abundance of burger combos and here is the kicker....they have a tasty and unique veggie burger. I am pretty sure they deep-fry it before the grill which is very interesting because it keeps it from falling apart and turning into fork food. Anyways, sweet potato tater tots and (good) beer. Be aware of weekday lunch hours....it gets buuzeey.

I was eager to try Punch Burger after hearing a lot of my friends talk about how good it was. I finally had the opportunity to do so today and oh my gods I am glad I did!

We went on a Thursday around 2:00 pm and it was fairly empty which was great because being in a city, it's a small place. There is more seating in a back are that's a little hard to see from the front. Compared to some places in the city it's pretty decent sized. The menu is on a big ol chalk wall to the left as you walk in and this can pose a hazard if it's busy because there's not much room to stand to check it out. I highly suggest pulling up the menu on your phone before you get there so you have some sort of an idea of what you might want.

I ordered the Aloha, my husband ordered the Thai, and my brother ordered the Burnt Cheese. We all loved our burgers! The Aloha was really good but slightly messy, I think I liked the Burnt Cheese a bit more (but I like burnt and crispy foods anyway). The pattys are on the thin side so don't go in expecting some big monster patty! We also ordered Waffle Fries and Sweet Potato Tots both of which were good. I would  have liked to see regular sweet potato fries on the menu too. Personally we felt it was slightly on the expensive side but well worth it after we tasted the food!

We did not order any beers so I can not say anything about them, but there is a Coke Freestyle machine which is always fun. There's only one though so you may be waiting behind people who can't make up their minds.

Overall I don't think Punch Burger will be going anywhere anytime soon and I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! Now if only I could get one a little close to my house...or maybe not so I don't gain 50lbs from going there daily!

Whoa, baby, I love this menu! Eclectic and and very cool. The Burger of the Moment last time was Banana, Bacon and Nutella. Not bad at all. Just go for the crazy option when you can, life is too short for the basics all the time.

The sweet potato tots are oh so good. They go well with the Aloha burger (just like the teri burgers in  Hawaii) or the double Punch burger with everything. The build your own burger possibilities are endless.

Small craft beer selection (mainly local) hits the spot and gets the job done. Use of local beef and turkey: spot on!

I went here with coworkers and had the "Blue Burger" which comes with grilled red onions and mayo.  Mayo on a burger is just wrong, so I ommitted that.  The night before, I had another bleu burger down the street at Chatham Tap and if I had to pick purely on the burger, I'd go with Chatham Tap.  The patty was pretty thin considering it was supposed to be 1/3 lb and I'd probably get the double patty version next time.  The "Sriracha" sauce definitely didn't seem like the normal sauce I'm used to, definitely wasn't as hot, but still decently tasty.

I wish I  could give Punch Burger 3.5 stars. I've been twice and I like it. I just don't love it. The first time, I did the make-your-own burger. I don't really understand why a pretzel bun is 40 cents extra and cheese is 50 cents extra ... oh well. My burger ended up being so messy I had to eat it with a knife and fork. Today, I ordered the burnt cheese burger and that was pretty good. The burnt cheese has an odd texture but it tastes delicious. The waffle fries are good too.

Food is cooked to order so prepare to wait. There were only a couple of employees on a Saturday so I assume they have more staffing during the week. I asked for a to-go container because I only ate about half of my burger; I was handed a paper bag. So, I had to wrap my burger in the wax paper it was served on and hope nothing leaked through (the burger was pretty heavy on the ketchup and mayo). They do have one of those cool pop dispensers where you can select from about 30 different kinds of pop with different flavor options for each. I was kind of giddy to get Diet Barq's, as I hadn't had that in years.

I'm eating the leftover burger now and, yeah, I'll go with 4 stars. The housemade pickles just knocked it up half a star. :)

Great place for an affordable burger with beer on tap.  Score!!!!

Variety is the spice of Punch Burger.  Besides beef there are options for turkey burgers or portabella mushrooms (mushroom, mushroom . . badger, badger, badger . . . ).   There are a slew of cheeses, toppings and most importantly, sauces.    My favorite is the spicy aioli as it gives the burger a nice kick.     Also worth noting is the option of a pretzel bun.

If too much choice overwhelms you, don't worry!!  There are a set of predefined specialty burgers.  My favorite is the burnt cheese - the patty is surrounded by a ring of delicious burnt cheese.

So you are probably saying to yourself, Megan you've had a lot of good things to say.  Why only 3 stars?   There is a lack of seating that takes away from eating here.  If it's lunch time, you are in 1 of 2 situations:
    1) You are hovering over some people that are casually chatting waiting for them to vacate a table
    2) Avoiding the glares from those that are in hover-mode.

The BOTM (Burger of the Moment) doesn't seem to change . . . . ever.

This place is one of the few in Indy to have sweet potato tots and I gotta say I'm in love!  We stopped here before the Big Ten Championship game and imbibed a couple of pints of craft beer along side our build-your-own-burgers!  The pretzel rolls are fantastic and I highly recommend adding the carmelized onions to anything you order.

I can't wait to come back for another pint and a burger!

We happened in here after a hockey game tonight.  Wanted to go somewhere we hadn't been downtown...so I looked it up on yelp! Read the reviews and thought we'd give it a try.

The menu is pretty simple.  Choose your style, your bun, your meat, toppings etc.  or go with a specialty burger. All the possibilities are laid out on the giant chalkboard.

I got the burnt cheese burger with a side of sweet potato tots.   The beef was cooked to a perfect doneness. The smell of grill with the beef was as it should be.  The burger was tender and seasoned well.  This was a messy burger I had to get a knife and fork.  The bun was ok, super soft but  ended up not eating most of it.  I think they should toast the buns!  The sweet potato tots were good.  Nice crust and sweet and creamy on the inside, just a touch of sweetness.  I think they should dust them with cinnamon and sugar :)

My husband got the texan and the waffle fries.  He to thought the buns should be toasted. He gave the waffle fries a thumbs up.  Two burgers, an order of fries, and order of tots, two large drinks-$21. So not overly pricey.

If your in the mood for a burger this is a good spot.

Fresh, local ingredients, trendy and slightly hipster decorations and wall chalkboard menu, quick service, but a little bit overpriced - that's Punch Burger in a nutshell.

Punch Burger is in a great location on ohio, in between Penn and Delaware, that is starting to get swamped during downtown lunch hours.  Don't be scared off by a line, though - the line was almost out the door when I arrived with friends, and we ordered within 5 minutes and received our burgers another 5 minutes later.

I opted for the burnt cheese burger - with a turkey patty. Oh man, the burnt cheese is something I could find myself craving. You can get any toppings you like on any of their specialty burgers, or you can do a "create your own".  All the toppings are fresh, and they have some super unique combinations, like the Thai burger.

Hint: all burgers can either be made with beef, turkey, a portabella mushroom cap, or a vegetarian patty. This is an awesome business tactic, because you are appealing to everyone this way! they also do a gourmet grilled cheese - you pick your cheeses and can add toppings to it!

the sweet potato fries are a do-not-miss. They are almost dessert-like, as they taste like they might be filled with honey and rich goodness.

The overall experience left a bit to be desired, just because it was so insanely crowded and people were nearly fighting for seats.  For a burger, a small side of tots, and a water, I paid just under $10.  not bad, but I generally dine for much less over at the City Market, so I felt just a bit ripped off comparing this to my normal $6 lunch at Circle City Soups.  Regardless, the place is good, and they are doing things right by serving local meats with fresh and interesting toppings.

I saw a review of Punch Burger on a blog I read so I thought I would give it a try. It's in a great location and I like the decor. It wasn't overdone and I have to say I loved the glass my boyfriends beer came in.
He got the Good Morning burger with the waffle fries. We both agreed he should have ordered some mayo or mustard on it but other than that is was great and so were the fries! The fries had a great flavor on them and I wished I would have ordered those. I ordered a burger with Parmesan and spicy aioli and it was yummy! I also ordered the sweet potato tots and though they were good, I thought the waffle fries were better. We will be going back!

After seeing all the hype I was itching to try this place out. And I left feeling so-so.

First, the location is great and the inside is even better. The chalkboard-wall menu, the retro-modern interior and not to mention they serve beer.

I opted for the Thai burger. I've never had peanut butter on a burger, but heard it's pretty good. It also had onion, asian slaw and sweet chili sauce ($6.50 for a single patty), and opted for the sweet potato tots ($2).

I'm not sure if it was because we got our food to-go, but when I got home my burger was soaked in grease. The elements of the burger came through perfectly. A hint of peanut butter, the sting of onion with the slaw and the sweet hint of heat from the chili sauce. But I couldn't get over the fact of how greasy it was.

The tots were better then I had imagined they were going to be and the waffle fries were okay. They had gotten soggy by the time we got home, which was a short commute, so that was disappointing.

All-in-all I like the concept and the food, I am hoping it was a bad visit and my next one will be better, because I really want to go back.

Okay, I'm beginning to crave the sweet potato tots here! Each time I come, I have to try something different, but I can't get away from those sweet potato tots!

The punch pint glasses are available to purchase for $7, and they make a unique addition to your glassware. I don't throw around a 5-star rating too often, but this one is well deserved. Excuse me while I go to Punch for dinner..

This place is like... awesome.  At about 5 pm, I ran across the street from my work for a quick (and I mean quick) burger... and in less than a few minutes I was on my way with a farm fresh, made to order burger that made me so very happy.  It was faster than any experience I have had at City Market but this was also later in the day.  Because I was in a rush, I ordered the #1 without much thought but it was so delicious.  Almost as good as my all time favorite burger over on the west side at Workingman's Friend.

I am a little biased though because I love love love thin burgers.  Also having lived in Bloomington for five years before moving to Indy, I have a special place in my heart for Fisher Farms where Punch Burger gets their local beef.

I didn't try the fries but I will soon. I also want to try more exotic burger combos as well. This place is delicious.  I hope it's a hit!

"Want me to punch a size your face, for free?" These were the wise words of a one, Farva. Regarding this restaurant, the flavor of punch burgers hit you right in the face. And it is basically free with the prices being so reasonable. Plus, where else can you eat a delicious burger and drink a Triton beer?

So, go there now and let's all convince the owner to make a Farva burger (a double baco cheeseburger...it's for a cop).

I was intimidated by the long line, but it moves quick, and really a mild wait is worth it!
These burgers are as delicious as everyone raves about.  The burnt cheese burger is something I crave, and I'm not known to crave red meat.  It's quality, local meat and they let the flavor shine and don't over-do the fixin's.  But if it's fixin's ya want, they got loads of them.  Loads of weird ones too.

Plus, where else can you get sweet potato tater-tots?  No, really, I'm asking - where?  Any where?  Probably not.  These things are awesome.

I like when a place names itself "Punch Burger" and they just stick with burgers.  A burger place that only does burgers.  That way, they can make the burger perfectly, and not worry about doing a bang-up job on my burrito too :)

I have been very happy with the service, the food, and the location - and it's actually affordable!

Went on the 3rd day after opening during the lunch rush. Very loud and crowded, but that's to be expected at noon on a weekday.
The menu selection was fantastic and I love the option of turkey or a portobello mushroom cap.
The decor and impeccable logo made me wonder if it's a chain, but it's a locally owed venture.
My burger (turkey) was juicy and flavorful, but lacked on any sort of presentation. I well be a regular here because the price is great, they serve beer, and the food was fantastic.

Update: I've been twice since this review and I still enjoy!

..."Mmm-mmmm. That is a tasty burger."...  - Samuel Jackson, "Pulp Fiction"

I might have said the same thing out loud during my first trip to Punch Burger, but people tend to look at you a little strangely if you talk to yourself in public.  I dislike being looked at strangely (by total strangers, no less) as much as the next person, so I thought it best to show some restraint.  I had the Punch Cheeseburger and it was superb.  Definitely will visit again soon to try some of their other burgers.

They have grilled cheese on the menu for the non-carnivore crowd, so don't let  your veggie loving friends talk you out of going here with them.

Service was incredibly fast, seemed like my burger was in front of me in less than 5 minutes after I ordered it.  You could definitely stop in, place a to go order and not be disappointed with a long wait.

    Outstanding quality!!

Loved everything about Punch Burger from its fresh, local ingredients to the house made pickles and Indy beers. You can really taste how fresh the ingredients are in every burger and it's all very affordable! An incredible burnt cheese burger with fries and a beer for under $15? That's a steal for downtown Indy!

Plus extremely friendly employees and an open atmosphere where you can watch your food being made. Overall, the best burger place around!!

**I've been back and against my gut instincts, I tried the Thai burger. To my surprise, it was delicious! Never thought I'd enjoy peanut butter on my burger! Gotta try it!

I was walking around the day this place opened looking for a place to grab lunch, and noticed the word "local" on a window decal (meaning local beef, I presumed), so I went in to check it out.  I'm really glad I did, because this place is awesome.

They have about half a dozen burgers on the menu, plus a build-your-own option.  The menu burgers are creative and tasty looking, and the build-your-own has all the usual options and toppings, plus some extras.  For instance, you can choose from beef (a 1/3 pound, local, grass-fed patty), a turkey burger, or a portobello cap; also they have white and whole wheat buns (and a third option that I don't recall).  The toppings are extensive and all are free except the fried egg, which is 50 cents.

As far as sides, they have waffle fries and sweet potato tater tots (which are delicious, but could be crispier).  And they serve beer and wine...they have five or six taps, including a few local craft beer selections.

The price is excellent as well; I got a burger, sweet potato tots, and a drink for $9.  Not bad for grass-fed beef, etc.

I love a good burger, and there are certainly some good options around Indianapolis...I think Punch Burger is right up there with the best of them.  Between the high quality ingredients, the craft beer on tap, and the really good prices, this place definitely earns five stars.
