Fast Burrito

The people make this place. I love that the chipper employees speak Spanglish to there generally serious and suited clientele. I'd like to think it adds a little spice to everyone's 8 to 5, handshaking desk jobs.  

I try to stay away from the lure of Fast Burrito as much as possible because I always end up gorging myself in a gutbusting pile of rice, beans and pork magic before it's all said and done. Or, on the flip side, I'll go there from time to time to make a measly order of "a side of rice and a side of mixed beans (pinto/black)". This is my guilt-free approach to Mexican food. What I love about the folks at Fast Burrito is that they never get pissy about my silly 5 bite orders. They charge me, what I believe to be an underpriced $2 for the 2 sides. This $2 is followed by a generous tip because I feel guilty walking away with such a steal - granted it's just rice and beans.

Piece of advice - when the day comes for you to pay a visit to Fast Burrito,  I recommend throwing a little Spanish back at 'em - totally worth the surprised smile on their faces:)

I eat at this place more than is probably healthy. Yes, it is essentially the local version of some chain that starts with a Q and ends with a Doba. The menu and style of the place are all very similar. I'm partial to Fast Burrito though. Much more flavor in the salsa and ingrediants. Essentially though, it is the same. So if you like the idea of places like Qdoba and Chipolte but don't like chains and waiting in line and not having anywhere to sit this is your spot.

Hint, venture past just the burritos. The quesedillas are great and the nachos are probably the best downtown.

Pretty much exactly like qdoba with shorter lines. About the same price too.
