I have been to Dick's a handful of times and have yet to have a negative experience, which is why I was surprised at some of the reviews on here. I can't speak for the entire menu, but the pulled pork and the brisket chili are great! I admit I drown my pulled pork (turn away bbq purists) with their spicy bbq sauce because it is that good. The chili is solid and has a kick to it just how I like it. Prices are reasonable and I definitely recommend a brownie to end your meal. And if your like me you can't help but chuckle like a twelve year old when someone says they are craving Dick's for dinner.
Review Source:I recently started a job in downtown Indianapolis which is about half a block from Dick's location on north Pennsylvania St.
Today, I visited this location and got some carryout. All I had to eat was the turkey sandwich, which came with chips and a dill pickle slice.
On the plus side, the spicy BBQ sauce that they provided with the sandwich was VERY spicy, which I loved. They also provided plenty of it. The meat in the sandwich was also tender and freshly cooked.
The only negative I had to mention was that the bun on which the sandwich was served was of the cheap supermarket hamburger variety -- it just didn't stand up to the meat and sauce within the sandwich.
I'm looking forward to trying out some of the offerings at Dick's downtown Indianapolis location.... overall, it was a good enough lunch to encourage me to visit repeatedly.
