Dump!And the owners a jerk with no personality! I just moved down the block.I was walking to the bar on Ashland and diversey,10 or so down.I saw the sign outside,that said thursday special $3- vodka /lemonade.I walked in at 10pm.Zero people in there.None.I said ,may i have a Vodka lemonade.She charged me $3.75-..No big deal right,but im a principal guy.I said why did you charge me $3.75?She was new,she asked the owner.He said,that sign outside doesnt matter,the chalkboard behind him does! lol Oh i saw the the sign outside to bring me in,then i need to walk around the inside and check for other signs!? Wrong answer...Weak drink,horrible lemonade to boot,and a jag off owner!No thanks,a million nice bars down the street.No wonder that bar was empty!

Oh the bartender was nice.But when she has a loser boss there,only so much she can do!The ceiling was dripping too.Dump!

The Purple Otter is the quintessential neighborhood dive bar. Mike, the owner/bartender/cook is friendly. The prices can't be beat. Now it's not fancy, but perfect for the corner bar.

The pub food is cooked to perfection though! I highly recommend the fried cheese curds and the wings.

I recommend you try the Horchata white russian or the Rasberry white russian... both are soooo good!

Went here on a Wednesday night, the place was basically empty.

Service was excellent, the bartender was so nice and attentive.

They had 50 cent wings and $2.50 Miller Lite bottles. We got both, and our 20 wings took over 20 minutes, and when they came out they were super dry.

I'll have to come back and try the place on another night.
