Forgot to Yelp this place when I stopped in last summer.

This has got to be the WORST Quizno's ever, and it has to take some work to sink so low, I think.

I pop in 'cos I'm thirsty, the man would like a small snack. They do have these "half sandwich" things, which seems like a good idea. The customer service here, however, SUCKS. I tell the girl at the register, who seems like she's working, my sandwich selection. She points back to someone talking on the phone in the back, and goes back to dishing with her friends. I head to the back, and wait a bit. Have to let the worker finish up their personal phone call, after all. Finally snack is done, and girl at register asks what I had. What?! The same thing I ASKED you for? It takes forever to check out. Argh, I'm growing old here. Service was slow, surly and inattentive. Come on girl, if you don't want a job, plenty of people are looking!

The food. I've had good sandwiches at other Quizno's, but the snack sandwich thing was just sort of dry, tasteless and overwhelmingly meh. And I can't fault them for the Arizona iced tea thing I had, 'cos they don't make the stuff, but it tasted like chemicals. Absolutely the most awful taste I've had in my mouth in a long time. Bleeaacchh!

Although this is a franchise and therefore almost identical to any other location I feel I need to write a tiny little tidbit about this particular joint.

NO PEPPER BAR!! I think this location is the reason they no longer air the singing rodent commercial I was so fond of.  It would be false advertising.

But the cashier said I smelled good so I can't be too mad

Quizno's.  Every so often I forget what it's like and then I go back.  And then I realize hot sandwiches are not so hot.  I mean it's great if you have an option of both hot and cold, but in general I'd much rather go for cold.  Oh and the prices?  Yeesh.  Oh and the service?  Well the service here was efficient, but entirely too aggressive.  They are just sandwiches ladies, no reason to hate life.  I mean I guess this one is in Wrigleyville, and all who know me understand my disdain for this particular pocket of Chicago.  So I understand their anger, but still.

This location also suffers from it's small size.  And since their bread toasting contraption has likely never been cleaned,  the choking scent of flaming bread sucks the air out of the place pretty fast.  The sandwich itself?  Burnt bread, but indeed warm.  Too much sauce though!  Yikes... can't taste the meat... too... much... sauce.
